Knocking on the Door of Heaven

A handful of people only remember their God only when pressed into difficulties. Or ask God for help in pursuing worldly ambitions. But people sometimes forget too easily to give thanks for the mercy that the Creator gives.

One morning in late October, the drama of the under-17 women's football penalty shootout on television grabbed attention. At that time, the matches were the Nigeria U-17 national team and colombia's under-17s. Penalty shootouts in football matches always carry an aura of tension. Both spectators and fans, let alone the players directly involved on the court.

Not just any player can be appointed as an executor. In addition to the kick, the player must also be mentally prepared. As a penalty executor, of course, the psycological pressure is quite high. Thousands of spectators' eyes fell on the mouth of the goal and waited to see if his shot would successfully deceive the opponent's goalkeeper and produce a goal.

Back on the screen, the tense session began. Nigeria's under-17 goalkeeper prepared at the mouth of the goal, while from 12 metres away Colombia's under-17 executor was also preparing to shoot the ball. His face was tense, his mouth was full of meaning. So did the goalkeeper. At the same time, many people can be seen praying, especially the players, coaches and officials. Interestingly, the berdo'a is not only a team from Colombia, but also a Nigerian team. All of them prayed for God's help to be able to defeat their opponents.

I tried to guess, at that time, what do'a plea they asked God for. The Colombian team that took the penalty kick must have prayed for the kick to enter the goal. While the Nigerian team pleaded with do'a for his opponent's penalty kick to fail.

The request for a different content was made repeatedly along with the change of penalty kicks. Finally, the emotionally consuming drama came to an end. Colombia's under-17 team emerged victorious.

With the victory, does it mean that only the request of the Colombian team's do'a is heard by God ? Of course, no one can answer it, because mankind is unable to guess the secret of God. It could be that some time later the Nigerian team will actually be even more moncer of its footballing achievements.

I tried to quote an interesting writing from the https://gkdi.org page about the plea of do'a ; One day, a man who could not swim was flooded. He was a believer in God, diligent in prayer, and religious. Since the flood was rising more and more until it reached it, the man asked God for help .

Before long, there came a rescue squad driving an inflatable boat. "Come on, jump here," they said. However, the man refused , because he believed God Himself would help him. The boat also left. Then came another inflatable boat and remained rejected. Finally, there came a helicopter to provide assistance, but it was also rejected.

Long story short, this man died of drowning. On the way to the afterlife, he met God and asked, "Lord, I have prayed to save me. Why Not Help Me?"

The Lord said, "I have brought two inflatable boats and one helicoper for you, but you refused My help."

My understanding is that a do'a application is not like inserting a card into an ATM machine that in an instant out of money. I believe, do'a is not a vain plea. When we knock on the door of heaven it will surely be opened and get a warm welcome from Its owner.God will surely answer in due course, perhaps unwittingly his miracles are present in another form.
