Help Me, O Loving Gracious Merciful God - You Know What I Need, I Ask for Your Help Today

By Sandy Shaw

Knowing that God is good does not mean that He says "Yes" to every prayer request. If He did, hardly anyone would die!

No parent who truly loves a child will give the child everything the child wants.

When the request is wrong the answer is "No", and when the timing is wrong the answer may be "not yet". A delay is not a denial.

At the right time God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, into the world to save people from their sins.

The cross is the ultimate expression of God's love.

No one else has ever offered to pay for your sins, and no one ever will. Only Jesus Christ can take away your sins, and forgive whatever needs forgiveness.

After being crucified Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. Not only does He take away sin, but He is willing to give us His goodness, or righteousness.

This is what the Gospel is all about. God gives us what we need, and not what we deserve.

If we blow it, and mess things up, God is willing to welcome us back. Over the years I have met very few people who, having messed things up, have repented and returned.

Our God is the God who gives men another opportunity - if they want it, and take it, and are prepared to do something about it.

All this was birthed when Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

We can find mercy and grace to help us in our time and need.

Are you in any kind of need? Approach God with confidence - He will not turn you away, nor reject you.

If you come to Him, you will discover you cannot stop God loving you, no matter how hard you try.

You may find these last remarks difficult to accept and welcome and embrace. Many discover they are in that situation because they have a wrong idea or notion or understanding about Almighty God.

People can say all kinds of things at times for which there is no evidence.

People have their own ideas and when they share these thought we may pick them up all too easily.

It is good to check what people say and to check with the Scriptures as we have them in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.

When people make time to read and take time to read and study God's Word there is invariably a rich blessing. God loves to bless those who seek Him. Discover that for yourself.

"Almighty heavenly Father - my God and my Saviour and my Lord - You know the help I need - You know what troubles my and bothers me - You know the questions I have and sometimes these questions may even be doubts. Help me O God. Help my to read the Bible. Help me to pray. Help me today. I need Your help. I ask for your help. I trust You to help me. I know You only have good gifts for Your children. Draw near now, and inspire me and strengthen me."

Our Loving Gracious Heavenly Father Has Good Gifts for His Children - Embrace What He Has for You

By Sandy Shaw

Which is it to be? "This is the day that the Lord has made" or, this is the Lord that the day has made.

What do you think of, when you think of God?

Many have their own idea of God, and what God is like, and even how and when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born. Are we not surrounded and swamped by false notions which can be given to us by folk around us, and sometimes we swallow what they say? We have to check things out - always!

"I think of God like this." Actually, that does not matter. It is just an idea in your mind - an idol, or a figment of your imagination.

Why is this so crucially important? Well, it determines our destination and destiny once this life on earth is over, and in the meantime, our understanding of what God is really like shapes everything else, including how we pray.

The Psalmist teaches us that God is always loving and kind, and his faithfulness goes on to each succeeding generation.

If God is not good then we have no reason to pray, but because God is good, God's plans for my life will always be good.

Everything is not good, but when put together by someone who knows what they are doing the result can be very different. On their own, various ingredients for a cake do not taste appetisingly good, but when expertly handled the consequences can be very different.

Joseph had a bad time over number of years. For a lengthy season much of his life was downhill. He ended up in prison, overlooked and neglected, and yet at the right time Joseph became Prime Minister in Egypt, saving the whole nation from starvation during a serious famine.

His brothers planned to harm him, but God turned evil plans into good.

What might those around you be trying to do to you to get you down?

What might be happening in your life that makes you feel like giving in or giving up?

What might be troubling you deeply and it has bothered you for some weeks and months and perhaps it has even bothered you for years?

There is an answer.

There could be more than one answer - but the one that really works is found in the love and mercy and grace and forgiveness and peace of Jesus Christ.

We have to choose at times.

We have to make choices, even whether or not we are going to reach out and take and embrace and receive the help that is available.

Be open and allow that soothing reassuring healing to touch every part of your being.

"Our loving gracious living God, come near now and minister to every part of my being. You know what I need at this very moment. I open myself to You and to You alone knowing that You only have good gifts for Your children."

No Matter What You Have Been Through, Or What You Are Presently Going Through, There Is An Answer

By Sandy Shaw

There are some things which are not easy to get over. A lady shared recently how at the age of five she was molested by the son of a Church Officer.

People go through times of strain and stress.

A serious health problem can make you feel like something is attacking you, even making you almost lose hope in Jesus Christ. "Why is this happening to me?"

A crushing disappointment can shake you, as though you were alone in a boat in the middle of a raging storm.

The disciples of Jesus knew the reality of physical and emotional danger.

Dare to imagine what must have gone through the minds of the disciples when they began to lose those who were so close in the early fellowship of believers.

James, the brother of John, soon lost his life.

Everyone experiences circumstances which daunt us, and take us by surprise.

The disciples of Jesus discovered that Jesus came to them in their hour of fear and need.

Jesus met the paralysed man, the leper, the Roman Centurion's servant, and various others in their desperate need.

Many have found how God comes when the storm is fiercest.

There was an amazing resilience in the lives of these pioneering apostles, anointed with the Holy Spirit. Paul and Peter are outstanding examples of perseverance, endurance and faithfulness, showing that ability to bounce back after setbacks.

Life may be harder than you ever expected it to be. God gives us resources to cope with pressures and difficulties - if we want His help.

Jesus Christ comes to restore what has been lost, and repair what has been broken.

"What a friend we have in Jesus" - try singing that song as if you were singing it for the first time.

There are some situations and scenarios and circumstances which can appear almost impossible to get over and overcome, however there is a way.

No matter what you have been through or what you might be presently going through there is a way. There is an answer.

Many ignore and reject this answer and that may be why they remain with this massive painful predicament.

Find this solution for yourself. Over the years I have helped some find it - not all - not everyone - because some were not interested.

Some did not want it, but to those who asked and searched and knocked there was relief and solution and restoration and refreshing - all depending upon the specific need.

Anti Aging Cleansers For Every Lady

By Steven Johnson

Anti aging cleansers are nice for ladies to use when they want to use a stronger formula every day. Their cleanser is a layer of skincare that helps them strip their pores of toxins, but an anti aging cleanser can do much more. Read more to decide if you need such a cleanser in your daily routine.

1. The Cleanser Must Be Very Strong

An anti aging cleanser is very strong because it must keep the pores as clear as possible. Older women do not want to deal with pimples, and they are afraid of clogging their pores with oil. The best cleanser leaves their faces clean, shows that their pores are clear, and prevents any clogging or pimples.

2. Better Anti Aging Cream Characteristics

The anti aging characteristics that are found in creams can be found in toners and cleansers. The active ingredients help the skin stay firm, and they prevent wrinkles. A simple cleanser that does the same thing doubles the power of a woman's skincare routine, and she sees results much faster. It is not enough to use the cleanser alone. It must be used with the lotion or cream in the same sitting, and the cleanser must be used anytime makeup is removed.

3. The Cleanser Smells Nice

Every woman who splashes on a cleanser at night has a nice odor following them around when they walk about the house or go to bed. If the lady wants to use the cleanser just before leaving the house in the morning, she feels much better about her skin. She is using the cleanser to keep her face clean, but a light odor helps make the experience more pleasing.

4. The Cleanser Cleans Anything

The best cleanser helps women clean anything from their faces. The cleanser must work on everything from heavy foundation to eyeliner, and the cleanser must work the first time. Ladies do not want to scrub their faces, and a powerful cleanser saves time in the morning or evening.

5. Buying Online For Less

The products are available online for much less money, and it is easy to order the products for immediate shipping. Someone who is ordering online saves money, and they can have the products sent to any address they want. Women who wants to change the way they look must order a bottle to keep at home, to keep in their travel bag, and possibly in their office.

6. Share The Cleanser

Buy a large bottle to place in the bathroom for many ladies to use, and carry that travel size in case a lady needs to fix her face. Cleanser is one of the simplest things to use, and every woman should have a ready supply.

The cleanser a lady uses every day strips away the makeup that will irritate her face, but the cleanser itself does not cause any redness or inflammation. The cleanser has a nice odor that ladies love, and it could become a part of their natural scent.

I Have Herpes

By Vance Larson

Having an STD can be scary. Do you know what is even scarier? The stigma that comes along with it.

Actually, I don't. But what was your first thought? Did your opinion of me change? I ask, because this is a very real situation that many have to face on a daily basis. Let's talk about stigma.

Let me start with a quick story that happened to me. About 30 years ago I was working as a crisis counselor for the HIV/AIDS communities. And while many of my clients had multiple health issues and co-occurring disorders, it seemed like so many people wanted to know what it was like working with someone with AIDS? While it is true that I entered the AIDS era at a time {late 80's early 90's} when we were still learning about the modes of transmission and pathology, there was a stigma attached to it that scared, upset and downright pissed some people off. I can recall at one AIDS march in Washington DC, there was a church group there screaming the most vile things to us as we peaceful marched. I think it was then that I realized just how powerful the stigma was.

But one day, my good friend asked if we could grab lunch together. Being always up for a meal, I accepted their invitation. I could tell something was weighing heavy on their mind. After we got our table they said they had something that they really needed to tell me. I was bracing for the worse. It was at that time they disclosed that they had Herpes. Without hesitation my response was... "And"? They said "That's it." That they just needed me to know. I exhaled feeling relived. I wasn't sure where they were coming from? They explained that they had been carrying for some time now, and they were afraid of being judged. All I could think and say was "You know I have been an HIV/AIDS counselor for a decade. What makes you think I would judge you"?

The thing that surprised me the most, is just how small they felt. The fact that the population that I was serving was {at the time} considered to be the outcast like the addictions population, shocked me that they thought Herpes would cause judgement on my side. It did not. It did however open my eyes to the stigma and judgement people who share these diseases feel on a day to day basis.

We are a culture of blame, pointing the finger and shame. We don't look at someone with cancer and cast judgement. Nor do we when someone has Epilepsy. But when it comes to addictions, STD's and even obesity, it seems that opinions change. It is almost like these people do not deserve compassion.

A few years back I was part of a group venture that was to provide Methadone to addicts in their environment. It was a mobile Methadone center. I was being interviewed by one of the local papers and I was asked being the staff chaplain, "What was my plan to convert these people?" My first thought was "These people?". I simply bit my tongue and said "I'm not here to convert them. I am here to love them." I am not sure why we feel the need to convert, shame or judge people who are in need of help.

I think the take away from my experiences is that people get sick. Some by chance, and as some would say by choice. Bad things happen. And at times, horrific things happen. Stigma and judgment play no part in healing or changing behaviors for the good. When I think back when my friend was scared to tell me about Herpes, despite knowing what I did for a living, made it real for me. Being sick is scary. Being sick and being judged, is downright terrifying.

We can do better. We must do better. Mental health, addictions, obesity or AIDS, we have the power to create an environment that fosters healing. Because at no time in my 30 plus years of mental health work have I ever witnessed someone making healthy changes due to judgement. Acceptance, education and compassion pave the path to change, health and recovery.

Benefits of Hiring Boutique Technology Consulting Firms

By John Dsouza

Here are the advantages that a small firm has over a large IT firm:

Specialized Services
If you are looking for specialized services such as education endowment technology, legal services etc, it is best to hire a boutique technology firm that specializes in that particular field. These boutique firms not only keep themselves abreast of their respective field, but also keep a tab on upcoming global trends, changes in their field and therefore can offer matchless services. Bigger firms which sell everything under their cart can never match the experience and expertise of boutique firms catering to specific services.

Responsive management
A small IT firm will have fewer tiers and it is more likely that the consultants working on your solution are more responsive to your ideas and issues. Also, with fewer tiers in between the management and the customer, it is quite likely that the clients will be directly dealing with the top management and as such the response would be much faster.

The consultants would be personally going over the project, with greater operational transparency. As such, the client would be kept posted throughout the progress of the project, something that is unlikely in case of a large IT firm with too many levels in between.

Also, a smaller firm would also mean that you would have a dedicated team working solely on your project from start to finish, thereby ensuring fewer hiccups and timely completion of the project.

Flexibility
Compared to bigger outfits, boutique IT consulting firms are more flexible in their approach. You'll find them more collaborating and accommodating than their bigger counterparts. Also, at times, we find information not being percolated aptly to the downline, which certainly doesn't happen with smaller outfits. In other words, you'll have a small, dedicated team working wholeheartedly on your project.

Responsibility
Boutique firms are closely knit. The employees are directly responsible for their performance. Therefore, they are more attentive to the client and their queries.

Your Feedback is valuable to a boutique firm
Unlike large firms with many clients, your feedback and review about a boutique firm is really important to them. That's why, they will leave no stone unturned to ensure full satisfaction to their client. Many a times, boutique consulting firms readily go an extra mile to keep their client happy- something you cannot expect from a larger firm with their rigid protocols.

Apart from the above, boutique IT consulting firms have a leaner organization structure and a strict eye on their overheads. Therefore, they may be able to offer competitive prices to their clients. Most importantly, these firms thrive on goodwill of their clients and that's why, you can expect exceptional customer support service both during and after the completion of the project.

With our experience, we can deliver best quality solutions to your complex challenges big or small in an efficient and timely manner.

How To Start A Low Carb Diet

By Vladimir Ciplic

Low carb diets include cutting out carbohydrates from your diet, or at least limiting them, and adding more proteins and fats. But even if you cut out grains, starchy vegetables and fruits, will it still help you lose weight, and even more importantly, will you be healthy and will the weight loss results last?

If you cut out all vegetables, fruits and grains, the answer is NO. Your body needs the nutrients it gets from those important foods to keep you healthy. In fact, if all you eat is protein and fat, you are more at risk of heart disease, cancer and other types of diseases. But there is a way you can follow low carb diets and still be healthy. Here's how.

Eat whole grains instead of processed grains like white rice and white bread. Those are empty carbs, while whole grains can actually help you lose weight. Eat brown rice, for example, instead of bread or pasta.

Select green, leafy vegetables and broccoli. A leafy vegetable, like kale for example, paired with broccoli will give you some great nutritional value. While it's best to eat a variety of vegetables, you can't go wrong if you stick with green, leafy vegetables instead of cutting vegetables completely out of your diet.

Add fruit sparingly. Eat a few fruits from different color groups to get the best nutrition. For example, eat one strawberry, a piece of melon and a handful of blueberries. While this won't add too many extra carbs, it will help you get the vitamins and minerals you need.

Eggs are a great way to add protein to your diet because they offer many of the same kind of nutrients as fruit and vegetables without the high carbs. For example, eggs give you omega-3s, vitamin A and many other supplements. If you are really trying to follow the advice of low carb diets, only eat the egg yolk.

If you cut out these foods from your diet just to lose weight quickly, you're likely to put the weight right back on later. This is called a "yo-yo" diet. That's because your body will be so nutrient-deficient during the diet that you'll crave the foods and eat too much of them later. It's better to cut out food that is bad for you completely, like junk food, and just slightly reduce your intake of food that is good for you, including grains, fruits and vegetables.

The worst thing you can eat while on low carb diets are sugary drinks, snack foods and desserts. Cut these out of your diet before you cut out whole grains, fruits or vegetables. Also, it is important to realize that low carb diets will result in a decrease of energy. That's because your body needs carbohydrates to produce energy. If you find you don't have enough energy to keep up with your regular lifestyle, perhaps you cut out too many carbs. Add them back in until you feel prepared to meet your daily responsibilities, or consider changing your diet.

What Is Live Streaming HDTV Service?

By Scott Klein

The new buzz in the TV and media space is "Live Streaming HDTV." Let me say this before I answer that question: "In the next 2-3 years Live Streaming HDTV will out subscribe the Dish and Cable."

So, what exactly is live streaming TV service? As opposed to receiving service from a satellite dish or a cable running through your house your TV service "streams" through your Internet connection. So if you don't have an internet connection then you can't stream.

Assuming that you have the internet all you do is download an app that will have all the live streaming channels. Like any other app that you download, that has certain functions and abilities the app that you'd download to stream will access all the main channels that you already watch.

Let's say that you like to watch TBS. Your current provider allows you to watch TBS as one of their channels. Your live streaming service will also include that channel. In fact, from my experience, the live streaming services give you a much bigger "Bang for the buck" than dish and cable.

With dish and cable you would normally get about 200 channels, but with live streaming, you can get over 500. With the likes of DirecTV and Dish Network they start you off at a basic package for a low introductory price, but when you see that most of what you want to watch isn't in that package you have to upgrade to get the channels you want.

When you upgrade your bill goes up as well. For most people that have Comcast cable, Xfinity, AT&T, or Charter Communications your bill will run over $100 a month. But if you download any of their movies that they offer then your bill starts going up.

For people that download or watch movies that they stream from their current provider your bill can easily go over $200 a month. With the streaming services, they include movies on demand which mean your bill doesn't go up. Personally, we were paying over $200 a month with DirecTV (we rented a lot of movies every month), and our current bill is less than $50 each month.

But with our current service, we also get all the major sports channels like MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, plus all the premium movie channels like HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and Starz.

Also, there are no activation fees, no cancellation fees, no contracts and no credit checks. This is definitely the wave of the future. I look at it like a landline telephone... most people don't have one anymore because cellular and wireless service replaced the need to have a landline.

To see what service I'm using (I've looked at all of them) and which one is the best got to: http://hdtvmediapro.com and check out a 3 or 30 free trail.

Is Yoga Good For Your Spine?

By Iryna Kadiievska

Yoga is a mind and body exercise with historical origins in ancient Indian philosophy. Different styles of yoga unite bodily postures, breathing methods, and relaxation or meditation.

In 5,000 years of yoga background, the term "yoga" has gone through a renaissance in present society, exchanging the loincloth to get a leotard and leggings.

Yoga is now popular as a kind of physical exercise predicated upon asanas (physical evaluations) to encourage enhanced control of body and mind and to enhance well-being, helping avoid a lot of spine problems and back pain.

Here are a few facts regarding yoga:

The word "yoga" is derived from the Sanskrit root "yuj" meaning "to yoke or join." Some folks take this to imply a union of mind and body.

According to a market study in 2008, there are about 16 million people in the United States that practice yoga and spend at least $5.7 billion on yoga equipment per year.

Hatha yoga is the sort of yoga most often practiced in Western culture. "Ha" means "sun" and "tha" means "moon."

There are lots of styles of yoga. An individual's fitness level and desirable practice outcome determines the sort of yoga class on which they're best suited.

There have been over 7,369 yoga-related accidents treated in doctors' offices, clinics, and emergency areas in 2010 according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Overstretching the spine, neck, legs, shoulders, and knees, as well as repetitive strain, are just some of the frequent yoga injuries.

Even the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) believes the rewards of yoga outweigh the potential physical dangers.

Yoga is described as having eight limbs or branches: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyhara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi.

Practicing yoga has many possible health benefits including relieving low back pain, assisting with anxiety management and increasing flexibility and balance.

There is some evidence to suggest that pregnant women taking yoga courses are far less likely to experience problems in subsequent pregnancy and labor.

The Background of Yoga

There is not any written document of the inventor of yoga. Yogis (yoga practitioners) practiced yoga long before any written account of this came into existence. Yogis within the millennia handed down the discipline for their students and several distinct schools of yoga developed because the practice widened in international reach and fame.

Sanskrit, the Indo-European terminology of the Vedas, India's early spiritual texts, also gave birth to the literature and the method of yoga. The "Yoga Sutra," a 2,000-year-old treatise on yogic doctrine from the Indian sage Patanjali is a type of guidebook that gives guidance about the best way best to gain control over the mind and emotions and advice on spiritual development, providing the framework upon which yoga practiced today is based.

The Yoga Sutra is the earliest written record of yoga and also one of the oldest texts in life.

The Sanskrit word "yoga" has many translations and can be translated in a variety of ways. Many translations purpose toward translations of "to yoke," "join," or "focus" - essentially a way to unite or a process of discipline. A male who practices this subject is referred to as a yogi or yogin plus a female professional is known as a yogini.

The positions that are now an integral component of health and fitness in many facilities around the world were not initially a dominant part of yoga traditions in India. Fitness was not a chief aim of training; the focus has been placed on other practices such as pranayama (expansion of the very important energy by means of breath), Dharana (concentration, or placement of the emotional faculty), also nada (sound).

Yoga began to gain recognition in the West at the end of the 19th century, with an explosion of interest in Pilates at the 1920s and 1930s, first in India and later in the West.

Different Types of Yoga

Modern forms of yoga have significantly evolved to exercise focusing on strength, flexibility, and breathing to boost physical and mental well-being. There are many types of yoga, and no style is more authentic or superior to another; the secret is to decide on a class suitable for your fitness level.

Types and styles of yoga:

Ashtanga yoga: There are ancient yoga teachings found in the 1970s where it indicates that each of the six sequences of postures links every motion of the body rapidly.

Bikram yoga: kept in heated rooms at temperatures of nearly 105 degrees and 40% humidity, so Bikram is a collection of 26 poses and chain of two breathing exercises.

Benefits of Doing Yoga

1. Improves your flexibility

Increased flexibility is one of the first and most obvious benefits of yoga. Throughout your first class, you probably will not have the ability to touch your toes, never mind do a backbend. But if you stay with it, you will notice a gradual loosening, and eventually, seemingly impossible poses will become potential. You will also probably notice that pains and pains start to disappear. That's no coincidence. Tight shoulders can breed the knee joint as a result of the improper alignment of the thigh and shin bones. Tight hamstrings can result in a portion of the lumbar spine, which may lead to back pain. And inflexibility in muscles and connective tissues, such as fascia and ligaments, can cause poor posture.

2. Builds muscle strength

Strong muscles do more than look great. They also protect us in conditions like arthritis and back pain and help prevent falls in older men and women. When you build strength through yoga, then you balance it with flexibility. If you just moved into the gym and lifted weights, you could build strength at the cost of flexibility.

3. Perfects your posture

Your head is like a bowling ball - big, circular, and hefty. When your head is balanced perfectly over a vertical spine, there's less work for your back and neck muscles to help support it. Move it several inches ahead, however, and you also begin to strain those muscles. Imagine holding a bowling ball while leaning forward for eight or 12 hours each day, no wonder you're tired! And fatigue might not be your only problem. Poor posture can cause neck, back, and other joint and muscle problems. As you slump, your body can compensate for flattening the standard inward curves in your neck and lower back. This may result in pain and degenerative arthritis of the spine.

4. Prevents joint and cartilage breakdown

Each time you practice yoga, you simply take your muscles through their entire selection of movement. This can help prevent degenerative arthritis or mitigate handicap by "squeezing and soaking" regions of cartilage which normally are not utilized. Joint cartilage is like a sponge; it receives new nutrients only if its fluid is squeezed out and a new supply can be soaked up. Without appropriate sustenance, failed regions of cartilage may finally wear out, exposing the underlying bone-like weary brake pads.

5. Protects your backbone

Spinal discs - the shock absorbers between the vertebrae that may herniate and compress nerves - crave movement. That's the only way they receive their nourishment. Once you practice doing a well-balanced asana posture with a lot of forwarding bends, backbends, and twists, you'll be able to keep your spinal discs flexible.

6. Helps you focus

An important component of yoga is focusing on the present. Studies have found that regular yoga practice improves coordination, reaction time, memory, and even IQ scores. Those who practice Transcedental Meditation demonstrate and gain the ability to remember information better and solve problems because their concentration is better. They're less distracted by their thoughts which can sometimes play over and over again like an endless loop.
