It's Amazing Isn't It, How Life Can Often Get in the Way?

This year has been one of my busiest ever. Then I suddenly realised that I had locked in outside activities on more than half of every week. And that that was is NOT good. Not for me and certainly not for my health and fitness. SO - time to forget sitting at the computer working on more research and so often shooting out to help with this group or that. Time to focus on what I need to do for me that will also help me as well as everyone else.

FIRST Update my wall chart to include both my commitments for others as well as my new commitments to MYSELF. Which are:-
Walk for at least 1 hour, three times per week. There are beautiful walking areas in my area, somewhere I can start to use the hiking poles I received from my son as part of my Christmas present. Even though the weather has started deteriorating and we are definitely deep into winter, it's never as bad as when I lived in the far south. And I now have the gear to be able to accomplish this.
NEXT Eat good, home cooked food regularly, avoid the foods I shouldn't eat. (Not easy that, I slipped up again as recently as yesterday. OOpsy I promise to do better). My last check up was very good, my health, as usual up to par. I continue to take the medication I need and also the supplements I have found that work for me. I have been and continue to be, aware that I need to care for myself first before I can be of use to others.
AND With that in mind here are my latest thoughts, funnily though these days the stray thoughts just seem to pop up out of nowhere.
"Darn it!! You've reached the big 5-0, or 6-0, or even worse, 7-0 - gulp! What to do now? Do you retire to the sofa as some did in the long ago past? Prepare yourself for "OLD AGE"? - Horrors! Perish the thought.
But - if you are anything like me, you're not READY for old age yet. So, what do you do? Well, when my other half left me a widow, and after the first very long months (of which I have no real recollection) had passed, I suddenly found I was a single person again. A 'mature' single person who didn't know what to do with myself now that I was no longer part of a couple. I tried reclining on a sofa, but I couldn't sit still long enough, so the only alternative was to sit up and think.
As a result I have spent plenty of time since researching ways of staying healthy and fit. For after all, I am now wholly responsible for my own health and fitness. My first forays took me out walking, weather permitting and after a while it no longer took half an hour just to walk into my local village and back. And after an even longer time, I was walking for up to an hour and a half, sometimes covering 5+kilometres.
Today is the day I resume living my life with a healthy work/leisure balance. Today is also the day I commit to updating my blogs more frequently.
And having written the previous, I managed to succumb to a flipping bug, which put me in bed AND on the dreaded sofa, for over 2 weeks!!!!
I finally believe that I might now survive and, with the winter in full swing, (cold windy with too many wet days), I will just have to wrap upon those days I can do so, to take myself down onto the gorgeous walks in my local Karangahake Gorge. I am really looking forward to getting my feet under me again. I have a lovely thick infinity scarf, made last year, & a very windproof jacket, courtesy of my late husband
So, if the rain holds off till after lunch, off I will go.
I WILL get fit again and I now truly believe I will survive this darn bug.
Watch this space!

5 Diet Myths Exposed: Start Losing Weight the Healthy Way!

This can be the year you finally drop those excess pounds, achieve a strong, streamlined body, and give your health a huge boost with a commitment to sensible eating.

But in order to reach your healthy weight and keep it there, you'll have to sidestep a lot of diet minefields. So many nutritional myths and faddish ideas are out there, you could easily wind up sabotaging your weight loss efforts and compromising your health, without even knowing it.

NEWSFLASH:
58% of consumers are actively trying to lose weight to improve either their appearance, health or both, according to the Natural Marketing Institute's Health & Wellness Trends Database.

MYTH #1: YOU HAVE TO GO ON A DIET TO LOSE WEIGHT.

REALITY: Most diets don't work. Instead of following the latest fashionable weight loss program, you should develop healthy, fat-burning habits and make them part of your daily life.

INSTANT ANALYSIS:
Atkins, Zone, Ornish... How do they stack up? A recent study tracked the weight loss results of obese people who followed popular diet plans for one year. In order to achieve a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI), most subjects needed to lose 41.8 lbs. At the end of 12 months, those on the Atkins low-carb plan lost 10.4 lbs; Zone moderate-carb dieters lost 3.5 lbs; and Ornish low-fat dieters lost 4.9 lbs. With all three diets, most of the participants started out as clinically obese... and ended up as clinically obese, with only a very modest weight loss to show for their year-long dieting efforts. On all three diets, the subjects experienced most of their weight loss in the first two to six months, and then began regaining most of their lost pounds.

GOOD HEALTH TIP:
It's easy to get discouraged about dieting when you keep trying the latest trends... and failing. The best way to achieve permanent weight loss is to incorporate reasonable, nutritious, and enjoyable changes into your life that you can stick with over time.

NEWSFLASH:
Consumers employed several lifestyle changes to help manage their weight in the past year.

• Smaller portions at mealtime
• Making slight lifestyle changes
• Regular and consistent exercise
• Eating smaller more frequent meals
• Making drastic lifestyle changes
• Working with dietitian/nutritionist

MYTH #2: DIET FOODS ARE A GREAT HELP FOR LOSING WEIGHT

REALITY: Many "low-fat" foods are surprisingly high in sugar content - and calories. That's because manufacturers often add sugar to compensate for the diminished flavor and texture that results from removing fat.

GOOD HEALTH TIP:
Secrets of Sneaky Sugar: A sugar by any other name is still sugar. Your "diet" food can contain added sugars in different guises you may not recognize. Here are some names to look for on the ingredient list: brown sugar, corn sweetener, corn syrup, dextrose, fructose, fruit juice concentrates, glucose, high-fructose corn syrup, lactose, maltose, malt syrup, molasses, sucrose, syrup.
So what's a conscientious dieter to do? As always, the battle of the bulge is ultimately won in the arena of calories. Carefully check food labels for total calorie content... even when they're branded "diet" or "low-fat."

INSTANT ANALYSIS:
The Great Cookie Caper: Let's compare calories of a regular chocolate chip cookie and a reduced-fat chocolate chip cookie. The regular cookie has 3 fat grams and 49 calories; the reduced-fat cookie has 2 fat grams and 45 calories. A 4-calorie difference is not going to get you into that bikini by summer!
On the other hand, some low-fat choices can significantly slash your calorie intake. Don't want to give up cheddar cheese? One ounce of regular cheddar cheese has 6 fat grams and 114 calories; the same-sized low-fat portion has 1.2 grams of fat and an impressively reduced 49 calories!

NEWSFLASH:
When the weight loss aim is to improve their health, consumers seem to eat a more balanced diet (e.g., less sugar, fewer carbs, etc.). In the past year, consumers limited their sugar, carbohydrate, and fat intake more often than they used diet food/products to help manage their weight.

MYTH #3: YOU HAVE TO STARVE YOURSELF TO LOSE WEIGHT.

REALITY: Yes, you do have to limit your calories to shed pounds, but there's no need to starve. You can cleverly choose foods that fill you up, not out - and keep you satisfied and stoked with energy all day long. What's your best bet for filling foods? Fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains. Most Americans get only half of the recommended daily intake of 25 to 30 grams of dietary fiber, putting them at risk for obesity and a host of serious health problems.

NEWSFLASH:
• 46% of consumers are choosing to eat fiber-rich foods as part of their weight management plan.10
• Consumers who eat fewer carbohydrates to lose weight also eat fiber-rich foods (66%) and participate in regular and consistent exercise (61%) to achieve their optimum weight.

Fiber comes in two types, each with its own starring role to play in protecting our health and promoting weight management. Soluble fibers dissolve in water, and are associated with regulating blood sugar levels and lowering cholesterol. Insoluble fibers or roughage can't dissolve in water, but can absorb water. This causes them to swell, making them good bulking agents that improve gastrointestinal functions and speed up elimination. By eating sufficient amounts from both fiber types, you'll enjoy their full range of health benefits. Soluble fibers: apples, citrus fruits, pears, carrots, onions, sweet potatoes, squash, legumes, lentils, barley, oats, oat bran, oatmeal. Insoluble fibers: Cabbage, beets, Brussels sprouts, turnips, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, whole wheat bread, wheat cereal, wheat bran, rye.

GOOD HEALTH TIP:
Here are a few ideas to help you incorporate more whole grains into your daily diet:
• Create a whole grain pilaf with a mixture of barley, wild rice, brown rice, broth, and spices. For a special touch, stir in toasted nuts or chopped dried fruit.
• Try rolled oats or a crushed, unsweetened whole grain cereal as breading for baked chicken, fish, veal cutlets or eggplant parmesan.
• Freeze leftover cooked brown rice, bulgur, or barley. Heat and serve it later as a quick side dish.

INSTANT ANALYSIS:
Decode the Food Label to Find Whole Grains
• Choose foods that name one of the following whole-grain ingredients first on the label's ingredient list: brown rice, bulgur, graham flour, oatmeal, whole-grain corn, whole oats, whole rye, whole wheat, wild rice.
• Food labeled with the words "multi-grain," "stone-ground," "100% wheat," "cracked wheat," "seven-grain," or "bran" are usually not whole-grain products.
• Color is not an indication of whole grain. Bread can be brown because of molasses or other added ingredients. Read the ingredient list to see if it is a whole grain.

MYTH #4: FAT MAKES YOU FAT

REALITY: Your body needs fat to function. Fat provides you with energy, allows you to absorb key vitamins, and helps build cell walls and membranes throughout the body. Don't deprive yourself of health-giving, energy-producing fat.

NEWSFLASH:
41% of consumers employed a low-fat diet in the past year to manage their weight. And consumers were heavily invested in the use of reduced fat food/beverages.

The trick is to consume the right kind of fat - and in the right amounts. If you're like most Americans, you may be getting far too much of omega-6 fatty acids... and not nearly enough of omega-3 fatty acids.
It's easy to take in excess quantities of omega-6 fatty acids because the common vegetable oils in the American diet - such as corn, safflower and sunflowers oils - are packed with omega-6. So are meat, milk and eggs. Unfortunately, when you consume large quantities of omega-6, you not only gain weight, thanks to its high caloric content, you may also grow more susceptible to inflammation and thickening of the blood.

Omega-3 fatty acids, on the other hand, are hard to come by. The reason you're probably not getting enough of these health-giving powerhouses is that many manufacturers remove them to keep products fresh. You can ramp up your consumption of omega-3 fatty acids by nibbling on soybeans, walnuts, flaxseed, and alfalfa, and by adding cold water fish like salmon, mackerel and sardines to your menu.

INSTANT ANALYSIS:
Here's a handy guide for getting a healthy balance of fat in your daily diet: Keep total fat intake between 20 to 35 percent of calories, with most fats coming from sources of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, such as fish, nuts and vegetable oils.

GOOD HEALTH TIP:
Sip green tea, lose weight? The Chinese have long appreciated green tea for its remarkable ability to promote digestion, improve mental faculties, and regulate body temperature. Now an intriguing new study in Japan suggests that green tea may also have a helpful role to play in losing weight. Over a 12-week period, one group of men drank a bottle of tea containing 690 mg of catechins (from green tea) every day, while the other group consumed tea containing only 22 mg of catechins. The results showed that the men drinking the tea with higher catechins had lower Body Mass Index (BMI), body weight and waist circumference compared to the other group. So the next time you pour a soothing cup of green tea, consider that each sip may be helping your body break down fat, along with all its other benefits.

MYTH #5: SKIP BREAKFAST TO SLASH YOUR DAILY CALORIE INTAKE.

REALITY: While you may be tempted to miss your morning meal to save on calories, studies show that skipping breakfast can sabotage your diet efforts. A recent study examined the role that breakfast intake plays on body mass index and studied the effect of different types of breakfasts. After adjustments for sex, age and race, the results showed that people who ate different types of cereal had a lower body mass index than those who ate meat and eggs or those who skipped breakfast.

And, for girls, here's a fascinating look at the strong link between a healthy weight and breakfast: a recent analysis of government data on breakfast eating in teenagers (ages 12 to 16) showed that the thinnest girls are the most likely to eat breakfast. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the most overweight girls are the most likely to skip breakfast.
Of course, not all cereals are created equal. You won't lose weight by heaping your bowl with sugary cereal, then drowning it in whole milk. Choose a low-calorie, high fiber cereal and limit your portion size to about 150 calories. Oatmeal is an excellent option for a satisfying, high-fiber jumpstart to your day. And try skipping the fruit juice, and eating the fruit instead.
By eating a healthy, filling breakfast, you'll stay more in control of your appetite and be less prone to overeating later in the day.

GOOD HEALTH TIP:
Breakfast bonus: Eating small meals more frequently may help lower your cholesterol. British researchers recently found that people who ate more than six times a day had lower cholesterol (by about 5%) than those who ate once or twice daily. The key is to eat small, healthy meals every three or four hours.
Who Skips Breakfast? People who are losing weight to improve their appearance tend to skip meals more than those who are losing weight to improve their health.

NEWSFLASH:
Frequent Weight Loss May Affect Immune Function
You already know that going on fad diets can be frustrating, unhealthy and ineffective, because the weight you lose comes right back on, every time. Now there's another reason to end the "yo-yo diet" syndrome - it may compromise your immune system. Investigators studied a group of healthy, overweight, post-menopausal women and discovered that the more often the women had lost 10 pounds or more, the greater the suppression of their immune systems.

TO SUM IT UP: 5 DIET MYTHS EXPOSED

1. Avoid fad diets and concentrate on making healthy lifestyle changes.

2. Check the labels of low-fat "diet" foods for sneakily added sugars and high-calorie content.

3. Stave off diet-destroying hunger pangs with filling high-fiber foods like fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains.

4. Add salmon, mackerel, sardines, and other cold water fish to your menu to
increase your intake of health-giving omega-3 fatty acids.

5. Every morning, eat a delicious, low-calorie, high-fiber breakfast such as
oatmeal with fresh fruit

Body Language in Sports

By Ronni Cohen

Messaging

Aristotle said that man is a "social animal" and a "linguistic animal." This convention is so anchored in our perception that it is hard to believe when psychologists claim that 90% of our communication is not verbal at all.

The meaning of this fact is simple - we communicate and transmit many messages, without uttering a word. Chazal (the old Talmudic sages) said that life and death are in the hands of the tongue, but as soon as we realize that 90% of our communication is nonverbal, we must also be aware of the messages we convey in our nonverbal communication and how they affect those around us.

How do athletes get better?

Players learn to pass, kick, shoot, attack, stop, change direction, close running lines and many other skills. As they improve these skills, they become better and more effective in the game. They improve these skills for two reasons:

Nonverbal communication in sports

If the psychologists are not mistaken and 90% of our communication is indeed nonverbal, why not apply the method of sports improvement even in relation to nonverbal communication? After all, this is a critical skill for the team's strength, which also affects the field during the game, during timeouts or breaks, in the dressing room and in training. The use of nonverbal communication in the group takes place at each meeting of the team players and throughout the encounter. The responsibility of the players and coaches is also, and perhaps first and foremost, to be aware of themselves and learn to communicate in a positive way.

Negative body language and team composition

I believe (mainly in children and youth departments) that a team must let go of a player, no matter how good he is, if he constantly "poisons" the group atmosphere with a negative body language. I also believe that a coach, no matter how good he is, whose body language regularly expresses negative messages to his players, shouldn't coach children and teens.

Universal body language

Studies indicate that body language is a universal language that crosses cultures, genders or physical limitations. When a blind-born athlete wins a competition, for example, he raises his hands in the air and looks up - although he has never seen anyone else express the sense of joy in winning this way. When that blind athlete loses, he pulls himself together, drops his shoulders and puts his hands on his face in a gesture of pain. Try to remember how soccer fans respond to the loss of their team - that's right, everyone responds the same way and "grabs the head" with both hands.

The myth of positive body language

There is a false myth, claiming that only players with a positive body language walk upright, open their shoulders, look straight and express their feelings with sharp, vigorous movements. This body language, claims the myth, expresses a winning attitude and can be seen looking at well-known winners such as Michael Jordan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo. These players are a model indeed. But not for everyone.

Body Language Models

Every person is motivated by different motivations and the difference between people must be respected. Therefore, one must also accept a different body language: less external, but present. This body language expresses peace of mind and focus on action, and is clearly represented by players such as Messi, Iniesta, Nowitzki and Tim Duncan. Does anyone suspects that Messi or Tim Duncan are not Winners? Their teammates have come to know how they express positivity or winning attitude, and so does the audience. There is a wide variety of legitimate positive nonverbal body language expressions, and each player can find what is right for him. What he can't do any more in modern sports is being unaware of his nonverbal communication, or being aware of his negative nonverbal communication - and sticking to it nonetheless.

Active communication = cohesion

Try once to do the following experiment: Watch a basketball game without sound and pay particular attention to the nonverbal communication of the players. In no time you will notice how the players communicate using physical gestures without words: often you will see a player raise his eyebrows to indicate to his friend that he is ready for a move. A point guard will turn his chest toward the player he wants to give the ball to, half a second before the actual delivery - and thus send him a message to be ready. The chin and eyes also become effective communication tools when the hands hold the ball. Pay attention how the shooting players lifts his thumb in the air to mark his appreciation after a good assist, or the pats on the buttocks. All these examples demonstrate the effectiveness and power of positive nonverbal communication. This kind of communication attests to an understanding between the players and high group cohesion. This good communication can also help an inferior team beat a better team.

The body language of each individual is derived from his or her level of self-awareness, personality, and mental abilities. If you know how hard it is to change physical habits in the game, such as keeping a low body, maintaining stability during delivery, and scanning the area before getting the ball, you will understand how difficult it is to change embodied sub-conscious patterns - body language patterns that we have become accustomed to.

How do you change a negative body language?

When a coach or a player feels that their body language is negative, they must change it. This change will not only improve the atmosphere in training and games but also make the team better. Anyone who can receive support from a psychologist who specializes in communications should do so.

If you are a coach and cannot assign players such an escort, you can still drive a change process based on the following points:

Psychological understanding - Understanding the effect of particular skill on their play creates the motivation to work hard and improve
Physical practice - they work hard and thus improve

Present the importance of team communication at the first training sessions
Learn and diagnose, during the first trainings, the body language of each player in your team
When you summarize the training sessions, also refer to the energy level. Set a score scale for the level of energy that trainings should be conducted in. When the team fails to achieve that index, react decisively.
Find videos of players with a negative body language and players with a positive body language. Show them to your players and analyze the feelings and messages they receive. In the first stage, analyses of a third person are more effective. Find varied examples and try to avoid the classic and familiar, e.g. Michael Jordan and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Develop a mutual language with your players. After they'll express identification with a player with a positive body language, remind them, during training sessions, how the player behaves or his name
film players who failed to make a change and edit the negative body language expressions to create a short clip. show them the clip in private, and discuss with them their feelings. Sometimes such a reflection would do the trick
Make it clear that they are allowed to feel "fake" at first. That the gap between what they feel and what they express is legitimate. However, what they express is more important because it affects the team
If the player has not been able to get rid of his negative body language, refer him for professional help and take a clear position on this subject

Nootropic - Boost Human Memory, Improve Brain Processing Speed

By Emilio Vargas

The era of smart drugs and nootropics is here. Nootropic drugs defined as substances that increase memory, attention, motivation, and mood, or everything related to cognitive and thought patterns.

To consider as a nootropic drug, a substance must first satisfy two specific criteria.

First, you must improve your learning and memory.

Second, must give seldom or no side effects.

The impact of smart drugs has exhibited by fictional intellectual drugs. Such as 'NZT-48' in the film and the 'Limitless' television show starring Bradley Cooper. Although the effect of this movie has changed, today you can use smart drugs to achieve similar results.

The most common smart drugs such as Modafinil and Progill used by several people for roles that must elite performance. The fighter pilots of the United States Air Force. UOP, WSOP poker players, UFC, MMA fighters, professional players and several Silicon Valley CEOs.

Nootrogen is a pioneer developer of smart nootropic stacks don't require prescriptions. Through a randomized, parallel-group, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. The study identified key natural compounds that have significant effects on brain and cognitive role when consumed by humans. Dimethylaminoethanol or DMAE, the point of this study is one of the key ingredients in the Nootrogen formula.

Enhanced memory

The Nootrogen formula helps to stimulate cognitive health and improve the efficiency of memory-related brain regions. This achieved by increasing the ability of the brain to do a method called synaptic plasticity. In fact, synaptic plasticity is the ability of the brain to keep existing neurons. While allowing to the form of new neuronal patterns that allow you to keep and learn new information signals.

Improve focus and Concentration

There is an increasing demand for any medicine to help focus. In today's disturbing environment, people need to focus on aspects of daily life. Such as working at the office or studying extensive tests. Nootrogen has a variety of vitamins useful to concentrate on natural ingredients. Special ingredients such as Bacopa extract and green tea extract are irritating to help you stay alert and wide-awake. This alarm alert affects mental clarity, a catalyst to increase productivity.

Improve brain processing speed

Bacopa extract in Nootrogen's formula has been the theme of many related cognitive studies. Studies of participants over the age of 65 shows. The Bacopa extract manifests a significant improvement in cognitive role compared to the placebo group. Studies have shown that subjects can do memory recall tests more and show fewer signs of anxiety under test conditions.

Calming nerves and anxiety

The L-theanine found in the Nootrogen formula known for its ability to relieve tension, promote relaxation. Help relieve anxiety without feeling nervous. This makes Nootrogen a perfect complement if you are to be in a position. Where easy to increase nervousness and anxiety (such as public speaking or test cases).

Sometimes That 'Little Voice' Can Really Yell

By Diane Babcock

Magnum's Little Voice
I used to love watching Magnum PI with Tom Selleck in 1980s and I always got a kick out of every time he referred to 'that little voice' and what it was telling him to do or not to do. Sometimes he listened and sometimes he didn't and he regretted it if he ignored it, but he carried on anyway.

Later, I came to understand that he was talking about insight or hunches and that made perfect sense to me since he could read clues and people so well, and he was so focused on his goal of finding the truth about a crime. Magnum's character had a real knack for tracking down perpetrators and his internal guidance system was that little voice of his. I remember wanting to be able to hear more from my own little voice, but I was no private investigator, so I wondered where I could use such a skill.

Noticing My Own Little Voice
A few years later I noticed I did have assured guidance that revealed solutions for me and it prompted me in daily life, as long as I wasn't totally distracted by problems. At first it was very sporadic and seemed quite coincidental. Like the time I saw a nice duplex while driving down the street and got an impression along with the thought, "I would like to live there." A few months later it was for rent and I was able to move in right away. Of course I had all of my stuff in storage and was living in a cabin on a beach 40 miles from town before it came up for rent, but I still recall the impression I got when I first saw the building. More synchronicity happened over the years, but I never paid too much attention to it at those times.

Decades later I realized I wanted those synchronous events to be the norm and not just happenstance, so I set about figuring out how to make it so. After much contemplation that involved stretching many of the synapses in my brain beyond my current puddle of knowledge the idea was presented: getting better at being the real me was key to reading the subtle energies that guide me to fulfill my life's purpose. By the time this concept reached the forefront of my consciousness I had already done much in the way of soul/self-searching, so a little more inner work was not a problem.

Finding My Big Voice
Now things were getting interesting. Good thoughts and emotions were brought into sync with good feelings and my true character was shining through. At each deliberate step inward towards the real me and even farther away from what was left of my devitalized ego I found more and more serenity and a new kind of power - in my own voice. I then asked of myself, "What do I do now?" and the answer came resounding simultaneously through all my senses: MAKE GOOD THINGS HAPPEN!

It came as a thought so loud it seemed I was being yelled at; it came as an explosion of energy from the depths of my solar plexus so strong I felt the charge throughout my entire body; it came as impression of truth so uplifting I felt I was no longer on the planet earth. It was exciting and surreal; it left me dazed and light-headed; I felt silly and giddy and more than alive. It was the highest I've ever been on life and there was no sign I was coming down from this plane.

The Power Behind The Voice
Now if someone says or does something insensitive that bothers me I just focus on the me inside and somehow an adjustment is made in the universe. It's as if the surrounding air is immediately filled with the health negative ions to neutralize the unhealthy negative energy. By maintaining my focal point on my inner serenity I am also keeping my energy safe from getting entangled in theirs, which means I don't have to deal with their ego.

The helpful information that floats across the filaments of our senses as inspirational thoughts, impressions, ideas, epiphanies and gut feelings is very much a part of the human experience. Though some would pooh-pooh these inklings as airy-fairy notions, they are one of our most accurate means of reading a situation or receiving an answer when hard-pressed for a solution to a problem. In fact, the more honest we are with ourselves the more clear and regular the messages become and the greater the richness in our life experience grows.

Spirituality is a term fraught with controversy and misconception, but from this author's point of view we are all spiritual to varying degrees in our connection to the higher intelligence of divine knowledge. Learn ways to kick-start the spiritual process at Life Might

One of the easiest ways to explain how to use and develop our spiritual nature is to learn how to pay attention to our own little voice that shows up as hunches, gut instincts and intuition all of the time.

A Healthy Diet and Regular Exercise Is King

A Healthy Diet and Regular Exercise Is King

By Hilary Green

A conversation I recently had with a friend, prompted me to research Alzheimer's Disease and if anything could be done to prevent or cure it. As I am no longer a 'Spring Chicken' myself, the fear of contracting something that will take away my love of and ability with words is a devastating one. Among all the information available online, I came upon the following report. Our health is of vital importance to all of us and so I thought to pass on some of what I learned.

"A UCLA study published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry found that the Mediterranean diet is one of the main lifestyle factors that seems to keep the brain from developing the toxic plaques and tangles associated with the development of Alzheimer's disease.

Plaque is characterized by deposits of a toxic protein called beta-amyloid in the spaces between nerve cells in the brain. Think of tangles of knotted threads of the tau protein found within brain cells. Both are considered key indicators of Alzheimer's."

It seems we hear of more and more people succumbing to this awful disease. I will certainly do everything I can to prevent falling victim to it. Something else in the report, reminded us that our quest for good health these days was a concern for Hippocrates who knew the importance of food in healing the body even back in 400 B.C. when he advised people to prevent and treat diseases first and foremost by eating nutrient-packed foods. That is 2,400 years ago and it seems modern science is only now beginning to catch up.

One of the solutions offered was that the food staples in the diet eaten in the Mediterranean, such as leafy greens like spinach and kale, non starchy veggies like cauliflower, eggplant, tomatoes, plus olive oil and many other items that many of us know about already, especially if we have looked at this food regimen at some stage, can have a very positive result. Most of us like things like hummus, salads, eggs and cheese, even red meat. It even mentioned that a glass of red wine could be beneficial.

Another part of the prevention/delayed onset option is exercise, which is considered a potent Alzheimer's preventer. As that report also mentioned, people who were physically active on a regular basis have a much lower risk of developing the disease. Even people who are physically challenged in some way or other can, with a little help and good advice, become more active.

It doesn't take too much, when you look at all the information available, to realise that you have the ability to prevent such a dreadful disease affecting those around you.

I wonder how many of us has ever been advised by their medical advisors that this healthy diet and regular exercise regime can actually help prevent, or at the very least delay, the onset of such a disease as Alzheimer's, that will cause so much misery, not only for the family dealing with the effects, but to any one of us who contracts the disease.

Just the research I have undertaken myself has cemented my decision to change my own eating routine and make sure I exercise every day, even if it's only a walk.

There are so many health issues surrounding us today, I believe it is up to us to make sure we do everything we can to keep ourselves fit and healthy.

My Brain and I

By Dr Giora Ram

The chief commander of our central nervous system is the Brain. It contains billions of neurons each connected to other neurons by synapses. They communicate via axons that carry the messages to our body cells. Our brain has unique capabilities to acquire, perceive, process and store information.

Brain researchers are quite familiar and knowledgeable about the operations of individual brain cells, however, they still do not understand the way brain cells cooperate in groups of millions of cells. Some would consider the brain to be as a biological computer, however this assumption and modelling is far from reality and cannot simulate the complexity of the brain.

The basic brain functions such as breathing, regulating heart beats, controlling movement and other basic skills were known to scientific researchers from fossil records first appeared in worms many million years ago. Since then our brain went through evolution processes of acquiring more and more sophisticated functions and unique abilities. These abilities include among others emotional, sexual and fighting behaviors located in newly evolved brain regions.

The brain needs continuous supply of oxygen and glucose for its function. These needs are supplied by the blood system. Our brain needs its nourishments like the rest of our body. That is why we feel at our best mental function after a healthy meal or slow and tired when we don't eat sufficiently on time or eat unhealthy food.

Our brain's primary energy source is carbo fuel. Our body has the capability to convert carbohydrates from food such as oatmeal or brown rice into glucose. Accordingly, we have to generate a daily supply of about 60% of our calories from carbohydrates.

To build neurotransmitters or chemicals that allow brain cells to communicate, our brain needs protein, such as: egg white, seafood or beans. Our body breaks down the protein into amino-acids which affect our cognition and mood, such as dopamine, which help us to be alert. In addition to protein, our brain needs fatty acids, which are generated from Omega-3&6 fatty acids, olive oil and whole grain. Our brain also needs a range of vitamins and minerals such as vitamins B, E, magnesium, calcium and iron. To get those vitamins we have to eat fresh food in various colors.

Brain capacity is unknown. We know that our brain have a lot of storage capacity and processing power, but we don't know how to estimate its actual capacity. A popular assumption is that our brain's capacity is 10 times greater than anybody's estimate.

Our brain consists of trillions of neurons, with a huge number of complex interconnections. What differ from brain-to-brain are the types of neurons and the specific neurochemical interaction among the neurons. It is interesting to note that the structure of clusters of neurons and their specific interconnections may have an effect on one's ability to learn and an influence on speed of understanding and reaction time to intellectual stimulations.

At birth, our brain is very plastic, that is, its capability to process and store sensory information is very high. Neuronal connections are generated, broken and regenerated, which suggests that early educational and environmental stimulations are essential for the child's evolution. This is the critical period of the development of the child's linguistic, cognitive and social abilities. A classical question is whether the infant brain is empty, a tabula rasa, at birth. The Greek philosopher Aristotle (fourth century B.C.E.) was probably the first to introduce the tabula rasa (blank slate) idea. According to the tabula rasa theory, an infant's brain is empty of mental content, which will be acquired later with experience and perception.

Although the 'tools' or the brain cells are already formed at birth, only after gaining experience will we see the generation of neurons' inter-connections. As Aristotle and subsequent supporters of his theory were not privy to recent genetic discoveries, the tabula rasa theory may not be applicable or accepted as a deterministic valid concept. Today it is believed that a child's cerebral cortex is pre-programmed to enable the processing of sensory input, emotions and environmental stimulations.

The author does not support the tabula-rasa theory and he believes that there are genetically transferred data or imprints. Those genetic imprints may have a clear impact and influence on the child's behaviour and even on its brain's ability to process and store information.

In future we could experience direct brain-to-brain transmission similar to telepathy. Telepathy derives from the Greek ('distant experience') and it is a kind of mental transfer from one brain to another. As it is not a clearly reproducible phenomenon, the scientific community has not reached consensus. Telepathy is well accepted, however, albeit largely used in science fiction. As many science fiction scenarios became reality in time, however, the author believes that some brain-to-brain communication will be possible in future. Neuro-imaging is one of the scientific areas where this type of communication is being researched and interesting results are anticipated.

The conclusion is that educational methods must correspond and comply with our brain function and its ability to store information and not on a dogmatic rigorous unified system as exemplified in most schools.

We use the word time directly and indirectly very often in our daily conversation and throughout our lifetime: time is money, time of life, time after time, between times, gain/lose time, good/bad time, slow/fast time, right/wrong time, before/after time, present time, past time, real time, on time, in no time, kill time, any time, every time, plenty of time, timeless, time limit, time cycle, time cures and time flies... Time is depicted by artists in various ways, among them the famous 'melting clocks' by Dali. We can distinguish between pure time, relative time and absolute time.

Time measurement is the unit of time to which all time measuring devices ultimate refer.

Time is a point at or a period in which things happen, a repeated instance of anything or a reference to repetition, the state of things at any period.

Space is that part of the boundless four-dimensional continuum in which matter is physically rather than temporally extended.

Relativity recognizes the impossibility of determining absolute motion and leads to the concept of a four-dimensional space-time continuum.

The special theory of relativity, which is limited to the description of events as they appear to observers in a state of uniform motion relative to one another, is developed from two axioms:

1. The law of natural phenomena is the same for all observers.

2. The velocity of light is the same for all observers irrespective of their own velocity.

Space and time in the modern view are welded together in a four-dimensional space-time continuum. There is no clear distinction between a three-dimensional space and an independent time.

Time means different things to different 'observers'. This may not agree with the axioms (on which the special relativity theory is based) described earlier, at least not from a psycho-philosophical point of view. These 'observers' may include: people (humans), animals, plants, clocks and other beings outside our time universe. Time seems to be different for different people: age, education, origin, mental stage and religion may all have an effect.

Time appears 'slow' when we are young and 'fast' as we grow older. Time seems to be passing faster when we are enjoying ourselves or when we are busy, as opposed to when we are bored or idle. The description of time-related events in the history of humankind differs in different cultures. Time is different for animals and plants as we can see from their lifecycles, behaviour and responses which are not what we might expect.

Clocks and other similar instruments measure time and tend to be almost identical in terms of information about it. This is to be expected as we designed them all for the purpose of measuring time defined to be consistent within our universe.

Time seems to be continuous, but is it?

We divided our earth year into subsets in different units: months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Scientists continued the division into one thousandths of a second or millisecond, a nanosecond, which is one thousand millionths of a second, and a Pico second, which is one million millionth of a second (one and 12 zeros).

Time is continuous with respect to our universe and within it, and it is relative to our observations. When we observe a moving object between two points we 'see' it travelling all the distance between the two points, so we assume that this continuity of observation means that time is continuous. This may not be the case, however, if we perform our observation in another galaxy or in another dimension, where these rules are not necessarily valid. In the digital domain, as opposed to the analogue domain, we may observe the same continuity of moving objects. The time is digitized, however, and between two consecutive time points there is a gap of a certain fraction of a time unit, equivalent to the sampling resolution, where 'anything might happen'.

For other creatures these time gaps may represent their entire lifecycle, or we may be living within our time with another life form, whose time resolution fits with our 'dead times', which are our time gaps. Television is viewed as continuous moving pictures, whereas actually it comprises discrete individual pictures, projected at thirty frames (or more) or pictures per second.

Time can be measured, viewed and evaluated. The observer's tools for the evaluation of time are his/her senses. Unfortunately, senses can be fooled. Strobe light projected onto a rotating disk will generate the illusion of a still disk. Are our other observations wrong or at least inaccurate, then, particularly if we are a small subpart or subspace of a much larger and more complex galaxy?

In the laboratory, we have successfully accelerated and slowed down certain processes, such as chemical or other natural processes. These experiments offered the possibility to control processes which were functions of time. Certain processes were successfully reversed to what they were before, indicating 'pseudo going back in time', which is not really going back in time, but it looks like it.

The introduction of computers generated a revolution in time-related processes and enabled not only the observation of past and present time-related phenomena, but also predictive processes, which are future time-dependent scenarios.

Time affects our entire lifecycle, our birth, our life and death. Our heart beats almost once every second and our inner biological clock operates throughout our life. If we overturn this clock by flying to another time zone, our body suffers a phenomenon known as jet lag and it takes some time to adapt to its new condition. Time affects most of the processes and phenomena on earth, some faster and some slower. If there are time-independent phenomena or a phenomenon that until today has seemed to be unaffected by time, then these scenarios must be classified as 'past, present and probable future'.

According to Einstein, time is more like a river, flowing around stars and galaxies, speeding up and slowing down as it passes massive bodies. One 'second' on the earth is not one second on Mars. All materials, including all known life forms and other mass owned celestial bodies are time-dependent.

The above mentioned time related scientific explanations are somewhat contradicted when we analyse the time related relationship between Brain and I, or more precisely the Brain-Time.

External and internal time measurement in relative to our brain is not the same time. The brain's external time is equivalent to the standard time as mentioned above and it is the same to all. However, the internal time measurement is much more complex, especially because it's individual.

When we sleep and dream, our individual internal perception of time is not correlated to the external time. We all experienced dreams that may be perceived as hours and more while in reality or externally it took minutes or less.

Sleep is essential for our brain. We spend about thirty percent of our life in sleep. Our survival and quality of life depends on adequate and qualitative sleep. Our daily responses and concentration during our diverse activities are dependent on our sleep. When we analyse patients with sleep disorders in sleep-labs, we observe the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) which correspond to brain activities during deep sleep and related to dreams. In general REM sleep starts after about an hour and half after falling asleep. Most of our dreams occur during this phase of sleep. We all dream and it takes actually about two hours per night. For us individually the time may take much more than that. The most vivid and real dreams we experience during the REM sleep.

During our lifetime the brain may be exposed to many diseases. It has been known for years that Alzheimer's starts in a brain region known as the lateral entorhinal cortex (LEC). This region of the brain is considered to be a major factor responsible of our long-term memory. Alzheimer may spread from the LEC to other areas of the cerebral cortex, a brain region involved in spatial orientation and navigation.

We humans have not only consciousness, we also have self-awareness. The major difference is that consciousness is awareness of our body and our environment, while self-awareness is the recognition of that consciousness. In other words, not only we understand that we exist, but we comprehend that we are aware of our existence. To be conscious is to think; to be self-aware is to realize that we are thinking. Self-awareness is awareness of me-the "I", my thoughts and feelings.

Now imagine that the brain is not an organ. Imagine that we are two beings one is our original brain and the other is "us" with our self-awareness ability and we are communicating with each other.

I'll switch the previous scientific language into our human common and easy to understand language using metaphors to clarify the issues discussed.

Dialogue recording between the two entities "Brain and I":

Brain: I have needs, feed me with sugar

Brain: Remember that for every action there will be a reaction (remuneration)

I: OK, I will eat chocolate

Brain: Thanks, here is your dopamine (remuneration)

I: Wow! that feels great, I'll eat more.

Brain: Don't exaggerate, I don't need so much.

At this stage and during similar communications between the brain and I, if I will ignore or will not understand the brain's messages, the result may be sickness, such as diabetes.

Brain: If you don't use it you lose it

I: What do you mean?

Brain: Area "A" in your left hemisphere is rarely used. You must start using it otherwise the probability to get Alzheimer is increasing in that area that didn't receive its necessary supply of nourishments.

I: What should I do?

Brain: Start solving crosswords, puzzles and brain teasers

The brain wants I to be cooperative in satisfying its needs, therefore, it releases dopamine during sex as a reward. Sex can act like an antidepressant and even as pain reliever. Time during sex may seem to be different than the real time.

Recent studies using Positron Emission Tomography (PET) brain scans of patients during pain stimuli showed different brain responses between men and women. Several areas of male and female brains responded differently to the same pain stimuli. Female's brain showed more activity in emotion related centers where males responded in the cognitive or analytical regions. Those differences may relate to our evolution process and the different social tasks of males and females.

I(male): She is very sexy

Brain(male): Yes she is, so what are you going to do about it?

I(male): I want to make love to her, all the time, it makes me feel good

Brain(male): OK, but be careful not to get addictive to sex.

I(female): He is nice

Brain(female): He might be a good husband and father.

I(female): Yes, it will make me feel happy.

Brain and I dialogue during certain medication.

Brain: You are sick but I'll take care of you.

I: It's OK, I'll take my medication.

Brain: No need I'll send the troops to cure you.

I: I will take the pill anyway.

Brain: OK, I am instructing the troops to withdraw; it's your responsibility now.

In many occasions we can cure ourselves without the need of medication intervention. In certain cases medication may interfere with our normal immune system or self-healing.

I: I am tired and I want to sleep

Brain: Only after I solve the problem you gave me

I: No, it can wait for tomorrow

Brain: OK

Certain brains will continue "working" and they will disturb us, namely, "I" during sleep, which we both need. Our brain relentlessly will continue to search for problem solving and it may awaken us during the night.

A common phenomenon is that when one half of a couple that has been together for a long time dies, the other also dies shortly afterwards. The usual, romantic, explanation is that they loved each other so much that they could not live without each other. He or she died from a 'broken heart', 'could not live alone', 'was dependent on their spouse'.

Is there a correlation between the death of one spouse and the subsequent death of the other shortly afterwards?

The hypothesis is that the desire to live may have a certain effect on the immune system. The brain that is in control of our body may have a shut-down mechanism, which is activated in certain cases. Those cases are similar to fatal accidents or certain illnesses, where the brain knows that it will not be able to cope. This mechanism may control 'suicide cells'. In recent years, suicide cells or what scientists define as programmed cell death (PCD) has formed the basis for ongoing biogenetic research. PCD is the death of a cell which is mediated by an intracellular programme.

There are three major types of PCDs. Type I cell death is called apoptosis. Type II is autophagic and Type III is necrotic cell-death. Cells can be killed by injurious agents or be instructed to commit suicide. If there is a threat to the integrity of an organism by certain cells, PCD is needed to destroy those cells. Typical examples of such cases are: cells that are infected by viruses, DNA damage, cells of the immune system and cancer cells. In certain types of cancer cells apoptosis is triggered by radiation or chemicals used for therapy.

What makes a cell decide to commit suicide?

The author believes that it is the imbalance between positive and negative signals sent by the brain. If there is a lack of the positive signals (no desire to live) needed for survival and/or negative signals are sent meaning 'no desire to continue to live', the shut-down mechanism may be activated.

There have been numerous reports of cases where patients recovered miraculously after clearly being diagnosed with cancer. This phenomenon may be explained by the activation of the PCD mechanism by 'desire to live' positive signals. In some cases, viruses that are associated with cancers may use tricks, like producing a protein that inactivates the apoptosis signal. In such cases the cancer cells will not only continue to live and proliferate, but they will become more resistant to apoptosis. Further understanding of those tricks and decoy molecules generated to protect cancer cells would enable researchers to reactivate and overcome those protective tricks in order to destroy dangerous cancer cells.

The author also believes that future research on destroying and removing cancerous cells might be implemented in two phases. The first phase would be to distinguish, mark and identify cancerous cells. In phase two the target would be to activate suicide cells in the selected area or group of cells and bypass the existing protection of the cancer cells. Strong psychological and family support is essential for such a recovery. In addition, the patient must believe in and hope for a healthy and bright future.

I: There is no sense to continue struggling in this life.

Brain: You must change this negative attitude.

I: I can't do it; actually I don't want to continue living

Brain: Should I activate your self-destruction or PCD procedure?

I: Shut it down...

Our brain is constantly sending signals to our body organs and cells, sometimes the signals are needed for our daily functionality, cell repairs and warnings. If we fail to understand those warning signals or we ignore them, it may lead to certain diseases, addictions and even death.

This schizophrenic/symbiotic individual dialogue between "my brain and I" is essential for our brain's healthy survival. The more "I" understands the brain's requests/messages the higher the probability that the brain will operate properly and simultaneously will satisfy the needs of "I" as well.

5 Tips to Be Naturally Happier

It's just about everyone's life goal to be happy. But how do we achieve it? Life is a journey and finding happiness is generally the goal for most people. Don't turn to drugs and alcohol though; here are 5 tips to be naturally happier.

Food

Food can be a tricky pattern to break. Those fast food chains are usually easier to turn to than cooking at home. But the clich "you are what you eat" is definitely true. Instead of eating fatty, non-nutritious foods, you want to be eating fresh fruits, nuts, vegetables and lean meats. This kind of diet will leave you feeling lighter, more energized and believe it or not, happier.

Meal prepping (where you make all your meals for the week in one day) can make this kind of diet much easier to achieve. But everyone is different, for some cooking alone can be a fun hobby that will also increase your happiness factor.

Achieving something

A sense of achievement is definitely a happiness factor in life. We want to be moving forward, getting things done and reaching goals. For some this can come from their work life, but for others you will need to step out of the office to reach that sense of achievement.

So what can you do to get that good feeling of achievement? Here are a few ideas:

Volunteer at a local kids group/soup kitchen/animal shelter

Help out a stranger if the opportunity arises

Make a goal like losing weight and seeing it through

Save money and then spoil yourself with something you have always wanted

Start a new project like a YouTube channel or website

Pay off debts like credit cards or personal loans.

Depending on where you are at in life even making the bed and having a shower can give you a sense of achievement, so don't write off the little things in life, they all can add up to naturally boosting your happiness.

Working out

Exercise is a brilliant way to naturally boost your happiness. Doctors will recommend that people do at the very least 20 minutes of exercise 5 times a week, but you can do more than that if you feel so inclined. When you work out the body naturally produces endorphins, which make us feel good and even reduces your perception of pain. You have maybe heard from your running/jogging friends that when they go for a run they naturally experience what they call a "runners high"; this is due to the endorphins pumping through their brain. Some have even compared this to a morphine like euphoria (that's non-addictive) so how can you beat something as powerful as that!

Continuous working out also has mental effects such as improving sleep, reducing stress, boosting self-esteem and very importantly reducing things like anxiety and depression. That's not even including the other physical effects of working out like strengthening your heart, weight loss, increasing your energy levels and even lowering your blood pressure.

There are many types of exercise out there, so why not start with a simple walk around the block and you will already naturally feel happier.

Find something fun to occupy your time

Finding a hobby is a great way to unwind after work and on weekends. Instead of just watching TV or playing on your phone, why not find something more rewarding to do with your time? Don't get me wrong, a bit of down time is integral for happiness, but too much of it isn't the best either.

If we listen to Google, it defines a hobby as "an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure". Think about that for a moment, particularly the word "pleasure".

Old school hobbies can still be rewarding, things like knitting (very good for anxiety too), writing a journal, flying a drone, collecting stuff (like trading cards, video games etc.), making a garden, catching up with friends; the sky is the limit with what your choice of hobby may be. Whatever you choose to do will definitely help with your happiness.

Get Active

Wait a minute, didn't we already cover working out and exercise? This isn't that kind of active we are talking about. Increasing one's activity is a sure fire way to increasing happiness. The simplest way to do this is to just say "yes" to things. If someone invites you to go camping, say yes. If someone invites you out to go rock climbing, say yes. If someone invites you out to the zoo, say yes. You get the picture, say yes to things! This can be daunting to some people as it can take you out of your comfort zone, but this is a good thing. In fact magic happens when you step outside of your comfort zone.

Don't be afraid to instigate events with your friends either. If they are busy then refer back to your hobbies or join a club of some description.

And there you have it folks, 5 ways to simply and naturally increase your happiness factor. Life can be fun, take part in it. The more you expose yourself and the more activities you take part in the better (and happier) your life will be.

How To And Why Wake Up Earlier

Whilst many prefer to stay in bed and snooze that button, there are advantages to waking up early. It is a challenge for anyone who cannot sleep early. And although for a small minority of people, mornings are not their best time and they should be sleeping through till late, for most of us who start work in the morning, there are advantages, and there are ways how.

Let us list some advantages first:

You can have relaxing time before you set off for work. Aiming to get to work 30 minutes before you are due to start is always a good habit, as problems with traffic or anything that happens on the way may delay you, and so you can arrive on time despite any hiccups along the way. If you are part of a loving couple, you can enjoy a special cuddle in the morning, cementing your relationship further. or you can go and enjoy a sport - anything from the gym to a morning walk to a 5-minute Yoga morning routine. If a meditator or tapper, you can do your meditation or tapping in the morning as soon as you wake up. Or you can simply enjoy watching the dawn evolve as you hear life outside slowly awakening.

To be able to wake up early, you of course need to sleep early enough. This depends on your day, so for example, if every Tuesday evening, you have a personal trainer or a Yoga class or a Reiki share, and you only then get home for 10 pm, then you will need to go to bed almost straight away. This takes some planning. For example, being able to have your supper early somehow. Most people generally agree it is not ideal to eat a heavy meal just before going to sleep.

So, how can we go to sleep earlier?

I like using EFT. Short for Emotional Freedom Techniques, otherwise known as Tapping, EFT can help you to relax into sleep. Tapping for "I happily go to bed at 10 pm" for example, can help release any objections of your subconscious mind. You may have to do this for a few weeks for the full effect to take place, but it takes only minutes, so it is easy to do. For some, sleep is always a problem, due to getting up frequently as a light sleeper. This is also where EFT can help. EFT can release the stuck energy imprints left in your mind-body from negative events that you probably think you have dealt with and are no longer affecting you. However, their cumulative effect may still be lurking in your mind-body, causing lighter and lighter sleep. Nutrition is also important, and it is good to consult an experienced functional nutritionist to ensure that any nutritional needs for sleep are being addressed. For the EFT in this case, it is good to use an experienced EFT Practitioner, so that sleep can be safe for you to waft into at night with more ease.

I hope this helps to inspire you. In short, I think a combination of lifestyle habits, EFT (Tapping), and the right nutrition for your body can open up a whole new joy of mornings for you. Life is to be enjoyed.

Why People Find Mindfullness at Work Advantageous

Take out any of the well-reputed brands such as Google, NHS, and Transport; you would see the managers suggest their employees keep up mindfulness at work. But what is this mindfulness? Why this is so significant for their employees! Let me tell you; mindfulness is nothing but the awareness-awareness to the present condition without any doubt. And it is nothing new; rather people used to practice it since the time of Buddhism. Yes, that's true; later people start to apply it for their purpose regardless of any religion, culture and other distinctions.

Why is mindfulness necessary?

All of the concerned studies about it conclude that it is very significant to reduce stress, conflict, and anxiety. On the other hand, it would increase resilience and emotional intelligence to a great extent among the people. All of these would improve the communication level of the employees as well.

When would you need it?

Although it is benign to all the people working throughout the day; you definitely need help from a professional mindfulness at work service in the following conditions:

• If you have grown a tendency to miss out recollecting words in conversations.
• If you start forgetting your daily commute.
• Paying more attention to some electronic gadgets other than near and dear ones.
• Living in the past and cannot pay attention to the present.

If you are experiencing any of such conditions or all of such conditions then you must get help from this service.

How is it beneficial for employees!

In the current scenario, managers often encourage employees to take more work pressure, doing works for hours after hours. As a result; the employees soon become psychologically deactivated; their personal lives get hampered, their dedication level gets hurt. And so, the company would suffer loss instead of make some impressive profits. Now, look at how this service can prove to be advantageous to all of them.

5 Mid-Day Routines to Help You Reset & Get on Track

We often hear of routines to help you have better mornings; a way to start your day off on the right foot. Mornings are extremely important and play a major role in your day. There are so many benefits in starting your mornings off with being grateful, having a plan, eating breakfast, drinking water, stretching, etc. However, starting your day off on the right track and keeping it there is just as important.

Here are 5 mid-day routines to help you reset and get on track when the afternoon slump attempts an attack.

1. Take a Clarity Break

Sometimes, sitting in the same environment, hour after hour can make us feel delirious and cyclical. Our eyes need a break, our legs need a stretch and we need an overall different perspective for a moment. To be a better you, better employee or leader, you may need to step away.

The Fix
Take a clarity break. A clarity break is just a break that allows you to step away from your environment to gain a new perspective. Some clarity breaks do need to be longer than others, but mid-day, you may not have too much time. Instead, take a mini clarity break and walk away for 15 minutes. The clarity break needs to be out of the office or work space you have been in. Take this time to go for a walk outside. Use this break to look at nature, be solution oriented and visualize the stress or problems releasing from you.

2. Reexamine goals

While we may start off our day with goals in mind, it is easy to let the hecticness and distractions veer us off track. Knowing we are off track can make us feel unproductive, overwhelmed, stressed and all over the place.

The Fix
Reset yourself mid-day by checking your to-do list or schedule. Create a habit of not letting the day slip you by without checking your planner. When you feel all over the place, stop for a moment and check your planner to see what your goals were for that day. Have you lost focus? If so, don't get discouraged, just get back on track. Put the distractions that you can aside, or the new to-do's on another day's agenda and stay focused on your tasks for that day. Sticking to your schedule can increase your confidence and feelings of accomplishment.

3. Eat a Snack

Glucose is brain fuel. Your brain is a very energy needy organ and if you want it to work well, you need to fuel it. When the day passes by and you haven't eaten, you might get grumpy, become "on edge," "irritated" or get a headache. To reset, you might need some food.

The Fix
Eat. Grab a snack and eat. At work, have handy foods around you that increase your memory and focus like avocado, nuts, blueberries, celery and, lucky you, dark chocolate (Disclaimer: in moderation!). We are all very busy nowadays, but that should not be an excuse to not fuel your body and mind, especially if you want your brain to work effectively and top notch so you are successful.

4. Get Inspired

As the day goes on, things change, distractions pop up, the afternoon slump sets in and you just might need a double dose of motivation to keep going. Especially if you have half the work day left, kids to help complete homework and dinner to make; not to mention that the calendar is showing it is only Tuesday. To reset, you may need a quick boost in motivation.

The Fix
Get inspired. While you can't always change your immediate situation, you can change your perspective. Take time during your mid-day to look at inspiring quotes, pictures and even visualize your goals coming to fruition. This is not the time to get on social media and check out the "fabulous" lives of everyone and self-pity, but rather to be inspired by what you have and where you desire to grow and be. I encourage you to surround yourself and your work space with things/pictures that are upbeat, colorful and goal focused. Then, at mid-day, take time to reflect and look around at your space. If you have a vision board, your work space is a great place to put it up and take time each day to reflect on it.

5. Take Deep Breathes

With the fast pace of our society, we sometimes forget to breathe. Yes, we are breathing, but we fail to stop and just take a deep breathe to center and be present. Failing to just stop and deep breathe can keep us in a go-go, rush-rush and somewhat impulsive mode.

The Fix
Take deep breathes. Taking several deep breathes at mid-day can help you to feel more calm and neutralize stress. Make deep breathing at mid-day a habit, even on non-stressful days. Deep breathing can bring mental clarity, re-center you from distractions and help you to be more present.

Why Your Dreams Help You Change Your Beliefs

Many people still believe that Darwin's theory of evolution is meaningful until today, especially atheists. However, many scientists have already showed us very clearly all the flaws in this theory thanks to recent scientific discoveries.

The fact that most people want to believe that nothing has any meaning and that we are alive in order to be happy however we can means that everyone's opinion is distorted by their desire to believe in pleasant beliefs.

They offer strong resistance to other beliefs or to scientific evidence that proves that these beliefs are unrealistic, and they don't want to better investigate this matter.

They believe that they have the right to believe in whatever they want and they insist on defending their beliefs without wanting to verify if they really are right. They do everything they can to block their enemies and keep defending their erroneous beliefs.

So, how can humanity evolve?

We block our own development with our idiotic attitude because we don't want to lose our privileges. We don't care if other people are starving. We don't care if other people are living in terror. We want to be happy in parallel with terror.

Don't you think that our attitude is idiotic and insane?

We should obviously care about immediately eliminating poverty and terror. We are indifferent to what is happening to most people in the cruel world because we are selfish monsters.

Don't you think that we should change our attitude?

We should show compassion to those who live in poverty and terror. We should understand that they obviously cannot let those who have the necessary conditions of life live peacefully and happily if they are suffering.

Why do we insist on defending the beliefs that combine with our ambitions, without trying to understand the meaning of life?

Why are so many people still defending Charles Darwin's theory of evolution in the beginning of the 21st Century if so many scientists (like Konrad Lorenz) have already showed us without a doubt that this theory is based on illusions?

Because money is everyone's god.

The barbarous modern civilization doesn't care about what is true or not. It doesn't believe in the importance of dignity and religion. Our civilization is atheistic and materialistic.

If a scientifically proven truth goes against the interests of those who rule the world because they have more money than half of the world population, do you believe that the world will learn the truth?

Even if the world will learn it, as we could all learn what Lorenz and a group of biologists had discovered, their discoveries will be suffocated by the propaganda of their enemies.

Nobody cares about the importance of integrity. Everyone on earth is a greedy actor. The only exceptions are the rare saints of the human history.

The fact that we are basically demons with a tiny human conscience means that we are cruel monsters. We merely pretend to have human feelings. We are deceptive liars.

We exploit, torture, and kill those who need protection instead of being human and saving the poor and the weak.

The fact that money is everyone's god while most people live in poverty proves that we are demons, exactly like our wars and our horrible crimes. Greed is a satanic characteristic. We are not ashamed to be greedy while other people are starving because we are crazy.

Don't you think that we need psychotherapy?

Don't you think that we should respect our religion?

Don't you think that we should help one another?

Don't you think that we should pay attention to important scientific discoveries without trying to defend old beliefs or our own products?

We are very, very far from balance.

God is the only one who can cure our mental health problems through dream messages and religious lessons. Science and religion are complementary disciplines. We have to pay attention to everything in our reality.

God is the only one who knows how to organize the world based on wisdom and goodness. We are unable to organize our disorganized world based on our suppositions.

We must learn how to have the behavior of saints in order to understand how mentally healthy human beings must be, and respect God's justice.

Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung's research into the human psyche, discovering the cure for all mental illnesses, and simplifying the scientific method of dream interpretation that teaches you how to exactly translate the meaning of your dreams, so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.

Our Healing Vibration

Cultures from all over the world have acknowledged the existence of a universal energy force flowing through everything in the world, including the human body. It has been called 'Prana' in India. 'Chi' in the Far East and 'Amimu' in some shamanistic traditions. Many refer to it as 'Spirit' or the 'Life Force.'

Ancient sages and modern scientists agree that everything in life is formed of vibrations. Vibration is the result of force or energy concentrated in some mysterious way and caused to vibrate, shake or oscillate at different speeds. The difference between one object and another is a question of rate of vibration. The number and arrangement of the electrons within an atom make up these vibratory differences.

Energy is something we put out into the world. When we notice this interconnection and how we affect one another, some start to take more responsibility for the energy we radiate. Meditation shifts energy. Once we begin to operate at a higher vibration-the frequency of love-we become a magnet for positive energy.

When our energetic aura shifts, our consciousness expands. Fears recede and lose momentum. Next, our nervous system neutralizes and we begin to realize and experience a spiritual awakening. This leads to the recognition of our divine essence. The impossible becomes possible. A miraculous life unfolds and old wounds heal.

During the process of cellular transformation, you may see or feel specific physical changes and sensations in your body and in the bodies of those around you, such as aches, pains, migraines and other headaches. New aches and pains appear in our bodies and then disappear. Headaches and shooting pains in the head or eyes occur that signal an adjustment being made in our energies.

These adjustments attune us to different frequencies. Parts of our brains that have been dormant in the past now shift into gear. This requires some rewiring of brain circuitry while patterns that are no longer functional get re-routed. As a higher way of thinking and being develops, expanded creative energies and deeper levels of meditation will occur.

These changes signal an era of energy medicine. Since everything is made up of energy, dramatic movement into healthier lives emerge from this shift. To regain 'balance,' a person has to manifest an opposite frequency. This transition opens a new era of healing where even the most stubborn imbalances like cancer or nerve disorders may be correctable.
