Natural Ways to Cure Acne

Natural Ways to Cure Acne

By Maureen Abuor

Acne is caused by the clogging of hair follicles with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. It is considered a major contributor of low self-esteem in both adolescents and adults.

Acne could be a natural way of your body conveying a vital message to you. Consider the following tips on how to live an acne free life.

1. Management of stress

Your body responds to stress by directing blood and oxygen to the key organs that help in fighting stress. In this process, your skin is left dry and hence susceptible to clogged pores that may eventually lead to breakouts.

You can manage stress by exercising, since this triggers sweating of the body hence cleansing the pores.

Quality sleep also enhances metabolism rate hence leading to reduced stress and eventually zero acne skin.

2. Fasting

It sounds weird, doesn't it? Scientific research has shown that when you fast, your body redirects the energy that would have been used in the digestion of food to other activities like healing, cleansing and restoration of your skin. This works literally for all skin types.

3. Observe your Diet

A well balanced diet is very crucial in the development and performance of your body organs and system at large.

Just like in body weight issues, you need to watch your food intake in order to ensure you have a good skin. Incorporate fruits in your diet, instead of junk foods like pizza which has a lot of oil, hence can be a nightmare to your skin.

Rich in nutrients and vitamins, fruits help in the healing, cleansing and even maintenance of the body PH, and hence, a good skin free of acne.

4. Hygiene

When oil from your body mixes with dead skin cells, your skin pores become clogged. This creates a suitable breeding ground for the bacteria, hence may lead to skin outbreaks. You can prevent these skin outbreaks by ensuring that you bathe daily, and also, wash your face at least twice a day.

Curing acne is one of the big questions that almost everyone wants an answer to. We all desire to have beautiful skin free of acne, as this helps in the enhancement of high self-esteem. To ensure acne-free skin, actively manage stress, observe your diet, maintain a high level of hygiene, and ensure that you practice healthy habits like fasting. Enjoy the beauty of a clear skin as you put these into practice.

Easy Ways to Get Rid of Back Acne

Dealing with pimples and acne alone is like fighting a war with something you don't know when will pop up out of the blue. Thus, it especially gets tough for the teenagers. But, the situation further worsens when the pesky acne begins to breakout on the back as well. Thus, it is also sometimes known as bacne.

Bacne is brought about by the same element that triggers facial acne. It includes overactive oil organs, abundant dead skin cells, and expansion of pimple creating organisms. The excess of oil and dead skin usually gets trapped inside the follicle or the pores causing them to block. This turns into a blackhead and then into a pimple if the bacteria invade. Thus, to help dispose of back acne, there are various powerful home solutions that can be useful. Here are a few to begin with.

1. Oatmeal

Who doesn't love oatmeal for a delicious breakfast? But, were you aware of the fact that they work as a natural cleanser for your skin? Certainly not, right? Well, these little fellas cleanse the skin pores and absorb the excess oil, which helps to treat acne. Thus, it can also be used as an exfoliator to calm the inflamed skin.

Just add a tbsp of oatmeal in a small amount of water to form a thick paste. In circular motions, massage the affected area with the paste. Allow it to sit for approximately 10 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Or, add a cup of oatmeal to your bathtub and soak in it for a 30 minutes daily.

2. Apple cider vinegar

Another great ingredient for back acne remedy is apple cider vinegar. It can be easily found in most of the kitchens. This one has been known to do wonders when it comes to skin problems and bacne is no exception to it. ACV, a miraculous ingredient helps to balance the pH level of the skin and thus naturally prevent breakouts.

All you need to do is blend apple cider vinegar with water in 1:2 ratio in a spray bottle. Before you go to bed spray it on your back and leave it on for 20-25 minutes before washing it off. Store the bottle with the mixture in the fridge. Alternatively, you can also apply apple cider vinegar on your back with the help of a cotton ball too. The choice is yours.

3. Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves of melaleuca alternifolia, a native plant of Australia. For years it has been known for its anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties. Therefore, today it is widely used for the treatment of skin infections in athletes. Whereas, in the case of back acne, when tea tree oil is applied onto the skin it helps to kill the bacteria that causes bacne. Moreover, at the same time, it evenly treats the breakouts.

So, mix 2-3 drops of tea tree oil with a cup of water and with the help of cotton ball apply the solution to the affected area. Let it dry and store the solution for further application. If possible repeat this process 1-2 times a day and also before going to bed. Be cautious of using it undiluted. It may lead to irritation, redness, blistering, itching, and over dryness.

4. Baking soda

Baking soda's amphoteric properties makes it act as both acid and base that helps to balance the pH levels of the skin excellently. Whereas, its antiseptic as well as mild anti-inflammatory properties help to cure skin irritation and swelling due to acne. Apart from them, it acts as the perfect exfoliator to get rid of the dirt and dead skin to leave the skin smooth, clean and bright.

But, be careful of not using it for treatment more than twice a week. High concentration of alkaline presence can be too harsh for the skin. To make the scrub, mix 2tbsp of baking soda with enough water to make a thick paste. Gently scrub this paste onto the back and the other affected area for relief. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse using cold water.

Other notable ingredients also include aloe vera, witch hazel, lavender oil, lemon, and Epsom salt. So, from now on start looking for ingredients in your kitchen because they can considerably change the way you look at life. The above natural home remedies will help you get rid of back acne. However, if the problem still persists, do make sure to consult a doctor. Stay safe, stay healthy!

Thinking of Popping a Pimple? Things You Must Consider

What is your first reaction when early in the morning you stand in front of the mirror and notice a pimple on your face? Most of us have the first feeling to pop it out so that it does not affect your look.

But does popping out a pimple actually help?

Often, health experts and elders in the family advise not to pop out a pimple for different reasons such as:

It may inflate a pimple, even more, making it look even worse in some time.

It may bring in other pimple eruptions on the surrounding skin too.

Popping out a pimple leaves out a scar on the face.

What Causes Pimples?

Now before trying to get rid of that pimple on your face, it is important to know the reasons that cause such eruptions on your face.

Some of the possible causes are listed below:

Not removing makeup and not cleaning your face before sleeping at night

Not having a healthy diet

Consuming too much of oily or junk food

Not removing the extra oil from the skin from time to time

Popping off the existing pimples in a wrong way and many others

Ways to Get Rid of Pimples

If you already have a pimple on your face and have plans to visit a party or meet friends, you need to find a way to hide it. You can either use some good makeup products to hide the eruption or can use a concealer to smoothen the skin for a limited time-period. If you suffer from persistent pimples, it will usually be necessary to do a little more than simply keep your face clean and eat healthily. Luckily, there are a whole plethora of over-the-counter (OTC) creams which can work wonders for clearing up pimples and prevent more from popping up in their place.

However, if you wish to get rid of it completely, you can try out one of the below-mentioned ways.

Medicines that have compositions such as salicylic acid or 5% of benzoyl peroxide.

Natural ingredients like tea tree oil, sandalwood oil, neem oil, turmeric etc.

Popping Out the Pimple in the Correct Way

Though popping out a pimple is not advisable, some people try it anyway. For those who wish to pop a pimple out, using the right way of doing it is recommended. Pop a pimple only if it has matured enough.

You can follow the below steps:

Use hot water and salt to either soften it or to make it mature. The cotton dipped in the water should be used to compress the sides of a pimple and not on the tip. Compressing the tip can push the pus inside the skin.

A matured pimple will have a white appearance on the top. Often with the use of hot water, the top might burst and push the pus out. But if that does not happen, you can take a new needle and sterilize it and then pierce the top side of a pimple.

When the pus starts oozing out, slowly put pressure on the sides and move it upwards.

Make sure that your hands are also sterilized and the surrounding skin does not touch the pus of a pimple. An ideal way is to keep on cleaning the pus with cotton soaked in hot water.

After the entire pus flows out, apply an antibiotic ointment that helps to a dry the pimple and protects your skin from further infection.

In general, popping out a pimple may cause other complications, but in some cases, skin experts do help in rightly popping out a pimple. In case if you are trying to pop out a pimple yourself, the above-mentioned points are sure to help you get rid of it.
