National Employability Enhancement Mission abbreviated as "NEEM" is a scheme in which degree holder youths are trained to be skill full as per industry requirements, So that they can work perfectly in their respective fields. Nowadays, apprenticeship training is done to create a pool of skilled workforce. It is assumed as the best way to train the apprentices to be skilled manpower worldwide. India has also enormous potential to improve the availability of skilled workforce.

Youth unemployability is the growing challenge in India. The central government is aware of this and NEEM scheme is the first step taken by Indian government in this direction to resolve this problem. Degree holders are the powerful vehicle for improving employability. Because youths like to earn while learning. In NEEM scheme apprentices get an opportunity to do their best and get a on the job training in their own skillsets.

They get a chance to work on advanced machines and equipments to enhance their skills, experience and desirable attitude which will help them get attractive job with best remunerative packages or explore opportunities of self-employment. Youths will get a minimal wage of unskilled worker as stipend during NEEM scheme on the job training. But after working in this they can be the next dynamites for any related industry.

This mission is also helpful for the individuals who have either continued or discontinued degrees and also for the persons pursuing degree courses. Most of the youth get degree but have no practical knowledge on how to work in an industry. Those students are prepared for the upcoming job in various related industries. Students pursuing degree or diploma courses at any of the technical institutes approved by the Government can be part of NEEM scheme. Candidates from a non-technical stream or those having discontinued their studies after Class X are also eligible for on-job training to enhance their employability in the industry and other sectors

In this scheme facilitators formulate many programs for degree holder apprentices. Indian ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will also help in this regard.
It will help unemployed youth to build skills through learning by doing on the job training at related industries. India is the land of great opportunities but in the absence of skilled workforce it looses a lot. By NEEM scheme the youth will be trained to be skillful, so that industries will hire them hand by hand. In this manner unemployability will be completely changed into great employability.

There are many youth who have a degree of Engineering, MBA, MCA but are unemployed. This scheme will train them how to work in an industry. The youth would spend their precious time in gaining redundant skills by this scheme.

In search of more & more candidates to get on the job training, the government revised the minimum and maximum age limits for trainees. The candidate seeking training under NEEM shall be at least 16 years of age and not more than 40 years of age.

Globalization and liberalization of economy has created a good bit of competition in the industry. Companies from any industry with a proven expertise in the field of manufacturing and / or services and is desirous of providing on the job training. In this regard any private educational organization with annual turnover of Rs 5 crores to 25 crores or even more is eligible for registration as the NEEM facilitators, provided they have the capacity to train at least 1000 candidates per year. Student will undergo on-the-job training (five days a week) with a Skill Knowledge Provider (SKP) as a 'trainee'. No employer-employee relationship during NEEM scheme.

The mission of this scheme is that no more unemployed youth will wander here and there as an unskilled workforce and every youth will be skillful and hence they can get job easily.

News :Trump May Make History As a 'Great' President

When the United States election campaign commenced Donald Trump was not expected to win. Everybody including the political pundits had forecast that the winner would be Hillary Clinton. However, it did not happen that way and the Dark Horse Donald Trump stormed and won the election. He did not have the popular vote when he became president but that is because of the convoluted system of votes in America. Political stalwarts made forecasts that Donald Trump would be impeached. They also said he was unfit to be the president of the United States of America. Water flows down the river and like the Amazon it doesn't flow back. Donald Trump has surprised many people by taking decisions which previous presidents had not touched with a pole.

Important decisions

The decisions that Donald Trump took are going to place Donald on a different footing than the earlier presidents. He has shown that he is a man made of a different metal as he has taken decisions that nobody else took. To start with he took the historic decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This was a momentous decision and now orders have been passed to shift the US Embassy to Jerusalem. Earlier American presidents all would put this shifting in their election manifesto but when it came to brass tacks developed cold feet and never carried out the shifting. One reason was they were scared to antagonize the Muslim world and the Arabs in particular. Donald, as I have said, taking the decision and though he angered the Arab world, he has not changed it. This shows that Donald has honored the pledge that he made during the election campaign

Another important point which needs to be mentioned here is that he has stopped the free lunches for the Palestine Arabs. The Palestine leader Mohammad Abbas was using American funds and paying them to the next of kin of terrorist killed in combat. Donald's put a stop to and now there are no free lunches. He hs said that no aid from the USA would be coming in case it was being paid to terrorists. This is another major step which the previous American presidents were scared to take. This is a lesson to India where something similar is happening in Kashmir.

Terrorism and Islam

Another major decision Donald Trump took is identifying the source of terror. Terrorism, as we know, is the biggest danger in the globe today. Donald Trump has been the first man to identify Islam as a source of terror. He has repeatedly used the word "Islamic terrorism". This word was an anathema to the previous American presidents, who were scared to use the word and identify terrorism with Islam. No such inhibition with Trump, as he has clearly identified Islam as a source of terror. He has followed up with the travel ban on Muslims from a few countries associated with terrorism to travel to the USA. This ban was challenged in court but now has been upheld by the US Supreme Court. Donald Trump has done a great service to mankind by identifying the terror groups as drawing sustenance from Islamic scriptures. Obviously, this is not to the liking of the Arabs and the Muslims but it is only a man like Trump who will call a spade a spade

Trump also identified Pakistan as a source of terror. This is something which was overlooked by American presidents, even when the Pakistan army had given shelter to the notorious terrorist Osama Bin Laden for close to 6 years. Trump has accepted that Pakistan needs to do much more to fight terrorism

One of the most far-reaching decisions of Trump is his slated meeting with the Korean Dictator Kim Jong. No American President had met any North Korean leader for the simple reason they could not look beyond their nose. Trump has broken the shackles and even earlier he had said that he would have no objection to meeting Kim Jong in the right circumstances

Great president

All this happens just after one year of Donald Trump rule. There are many more points which will not be part of this article which puts Trump as something apart from earlier American presidents. There is no doubt in case he completes his full term as the President of the USA he may very well be considered a great president for giving a new direction to the world, more for identifying Islam as a source of terror.

Business :Legal Intake: The Key to Increasing Conversion Rates

If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you know I work in a variety of industries and with many different companies in those industries. At first, when new companies are going to engage with me, some will ask what kind of experience I have in their specific vertical. My answer is always the same: sales skills and best practice selling techniques are transferrable. Core inside sales skills and strategies work in all industries (that is why they are foundational) and can be adapted to work effectively in other industry.

And this is especially true in the legal field. For over a year now, I've been training some of the largest and most successful legal firms in the country and helping their intake teams dramatically increase their conversion percentage of inbound leads.

The clients I have worked with have seen as much as a 30% increase and more in conversion percentages using the proven inside sales skills and techniques I've perfected over the last 30 years. I'm going to list three of those techniques below, and I want you to ask yourself how many of these techniques and skills you (or your team) currently use when selling your product or service over the phone.

Skill One: Build rapid rapport with your prospect. In the legal industry, the calls are inbound-for the most part-and while you might think this would make them easy to handle, for some reason many of the intake specialists handling these leads treat them very much like a cop who pulls you over would. "It's all about the facts, mam."

You'll hear many intakes start with, "And what is your name?" "Address?" "Phone number?" "And what happened?" etc.

The first thing I recommend to the teams I work with is to get on a first name basis with the caller. It starts with, "And may I call you by your first name? Great. And my name again is... "

Getting personal as soon as possible builds a bond with the caller and this instills trust. And trust is crucial for converting any sale.

In addition, there is a surprising lack of ongoing warm, of empathy, and genuine concern. Just little phrases I introduce make a huge difference in the overall feeling of the call and, more importantly, in getting buy-in from the caller. Things like:

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that!" And:

"Well you've called the right firm today, and I'm going to do everything I can to take care of you. Now let me ask you... "

These-and many other phrases and statements-instantly build rapport and trust, and this sets the tone for building investment throughout the call.

Skill Two: Getting the caller to act during the intake to increase their investment in the intake process.

This is an important component in any sale, but especially true in intake. The more things you have the caller do, the more invested in the intake and in your firm, they are.

Some of the things I recommend are:

• Getting the prospect to take down your name and phone number early in the call.
• Getting your prospect to send you any pictures of the accident or any paperwork they have.
• Having your prospect commit to directing any calls from an insurance company to their attorney at your firm.

These, and many other things, add up to making your prospect feel like they are already a client by the time you direct them to sign up with your firm.

For those of you in other industries, how many things do you ask your prospect to do? How can you invest them during your call or presentation?

Skill Three: Being prepared for the inevitable questions and objections at the end of the intake. As those of you who have read my latest book know, the secret to sales is knowing and being prepared for the stalls and objections that come at the end of your presentation. And it's no different in intake.

Common objections and reasons that callers use not to sign right then include:

• I want to think about it.
• I want to talk to my spouse.
• Your fees are too high.
• I'm at work and can't sign right now.
• Etc.

Sound familiar? They should because these are the same objections all sales reps get at the end of their presentations!

The way I help legal intake teams crush their competition is the same way I help other industries succeed: by developing best practice scripts to deal with these objections and stalls. And they work!

There are a lot of other techniques and skills I teach in my intake training, including solid customer service skills (it's amazing how poorly intake reps handle the little things like putting people on hold!), building value in the law firm, creating trust and confidence, getting buy-in and investing the prospect during the intake process, disqualifying cases so as not to waste time on cases they don't even want, and many others.

But the bottom line is still the same for the legal industry as well as any other: Sales is a set of skills that can be learned, and, if applied consistently, dramatically increase the conversion of leads.

News :A Child Can't Be Religious

As a boy I went to a Church of England school and this meant that there were occasions when I would have to go to church. Additionally, my father was a Christian and he was part of the church choir as a boy.

However, I wasn't forced to read the bible and to go to church every Sunday. This was not something that appealed to me and, as the years passed, I often wondered why anyone would feel the need to belong to particular religion.

Critical Thinking

I wanted to come to my own conclusions and decide how I would behave; not simply believe what other people had told me and allow these beliefs to define my behaviour. If I was going to join a religion, it would be religion that I had created.

But I thought that this would be limiting and I wouldn't want anyone else to simply follow what I had come up with. Doing so would stop them from thinking for themselves, causing them to act as though they were just an extension of me.

A Common Experience

When I went shopping around this time I would often see (or should I say hear) someone who was preaching. At first I would try to have conversation with them, but I soon realised that this was a complete waste of time.

Their way of looking at the world was the only way of looking at it and that was all there was to it. What I soon came to think about was that if people like this were so sure of what they believed, why did they need to convert everyone?

Inner Doubt

I came to the conclusion that the reason they needed to covert other people was because they didn't actually believe what was coming out of their mouth. This meant that they needed other people to have the same outlook in order to silence the part of themselves that wasn't on board with what they were saying.

Not being able to have their views challenged was also part of this; if they allowed this to happen, it would have forced them to think about why they believed what they did. Their mind was closed.

A Sensible Outlook

Around this time I listened to an audio recording where Dov Baron went into how someone could only claim to be part of a religion if they had chosen it themselves. Otherwise, they would just be following something because they had been told to follow it.

If they had chosen it themselves, they would have looked into a number of different religions and chosen the one that was in alignment with who they are. I thought that he made a good point and that this was the rational thing to do.

A Recent Experience

While I was at the airport a little while ago, I saw two children who had identified with a certain region - what they were wearing gave this away. I ended up wondering how these two young children could be religious.

They were at an age where they wouldn't have had the ability to think for themselves, which would have stopped them from being able to choose a religion that was right for them. It was highly likely that they didn't have a choice in the matter and that their caregivers forced this religion upon them.

Final Thoughts

I would say that making a child go along with a religion is another form of abuse; it is what happens when caregivers see their children as an extension of them, as opposed to separate beings. Once someone gets to the age where they the ability to think for themselves they will be ready to choose a religion - that's if they want to, of course.

As Khalil Gibran once sad when he was talking about children, "Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, and though they are with you yet they belong not to you."

Right now I am high in the sky on my way to Maui and I am just so excited! My husband and I are here for a week and I am stoked to spend some time together just us (eek) in such a beautiful place!

Earlier this week I had a couple of really spectacular things happen. The first was being interviewed on Baeth Davis' podcast. Baeth is an amazing coach and business woman, with building a wildly successful business in hand analysis! I have been following her for years, and I actually met her when I first started my business 11 years ago. I am now happy to call her a friend, fellow soul sister, and it was an absolute pleasure being interviewed on her show We chatted A LOT about coaches shaming other coaches in our industry - I'll let you know when it's live so you can check it out.

The second, was slightly mind-blowing and was a true dream come true! My personal development journey started by watching The Secret in Canada, and 11 years later I had a meeting with John Assaraf while living my dream in California! It was a surreal moment to say the least! John too started out in Canada and his dream was to live in San Diego! We now live a few streets apart and he lovingly joked that it only took me 3 years to get here and him 17! Ha! In this weeks' article I share the top 3 highlights from our meeting and profound take always for you too as you are also applying the concepts from The Secret.

Here are my top 3 highlights from my meeting with John

1. Your dreams take time. When he lovingly joked that it took him 17 years to get here, and only 3 for me, in was in the context of timing. Your dreams take time. He said that having patience is crucial. I remember thinking at the time when I was trying so hard to make my dream of moving happen, that something was off because it was taking so long. I later learned that there were quite a few things I needed to "let go" of first to even be okay with moving. Like the fear of disappointing others, not being loved (deep down), etc. Let's also be honest, that me pushing so hard to try to make it happen was coming from a place of fear that it wouldn't actually happen, thus actually pushing it away. The opportunity that ended up enabling us to move here literally presented itself a year earlier, to which we said no! It didn't feel right aka we weren't ready! Sometimes those "feelings" are fear in disguise. AND above all else, this stuff takes time! So many things needed to come together in order for us to move logistically, and I can tell you that it worked out the VERY best way possible! From visas, to accommodations, to currency conversions. It was far better then we ever could have imagined for ourselves and the universe knew the very best way to make it happen. BUT here's the thing. The next step was there every single step of the way, and that is what we had to keep saying yes to. It was a series of yes' over those 3 years.

2. INSPIRED ACTION! John couldn't stress enough how important this is and how much it was overlooked by people after watching The Secret. It does not land in your lap! You MUST take action. What I have come to learn is that the opportunity for you to create your dreams is already there for you. You will be shown the way, and every single step of the way - i.e.. who to call, what course to take, what book to read, which coach to work with, what training to take, which people to reach out to who you can help (clients). IT'S ALL THERE! YOU have to be willing to get our of your own way to actually take action on those opportunity (and ideas) being presented to you.

3. Commitment. John was asked an important question when he was in his teens. A man took interest in him and saw the potential in him when he couldn't see it himself. The man asked him if he just wanted to change his life OR was he committed to changing it? A question that changed his life forever. I can attest 100% that this man is committed to neuroscience and how it relates to these universal truths. He is already wildly successful (to which he was extremely committed to creating) AND continues to run a huge company armed with the top scientists and psychologists in the world. Why? Because he's committed to his business and what's it's doing for others.

So ask yourself, are you truly committed to what you say your mission is? Are you ready to fully commit? Where are you falling short and what do you need to change? Then do it. Over and over and over again.

Healthy :What Is Myotonic Dystrophy?

When you hear the abbreviation MD you probably instantly think of muscular dystrophy, the disorder that affects millions and even has its own telethon. It is characterized by kids in leg braces with some in wheelchairs. Another MD however is myotonic dystrophy, which is an offshoot of the main version and the most common form that begins in adulthood.

It too is a long term genetic disorder that is characterized by loss of muscle function with gradually worsening symptoms like muscle loss and weakness as the disease continues on its path. While currently there is no cure, doctors can treat the symptoms of the disease, things like cataracts, intellectual disabilities, and various different heart conditions that can accompany the disorder.

Myotonic Dystrophy is also characterized by the fact that the muscles contract and then are unable to relax, a state of myotenia which comes from the Greek for muscle 'myo' and the Latin for tension 'tonus'. Myotenia is a symptom of neuromuscular disorders where there is a delayed relaxation of skeletal muscles after a voluntary contraction.

Anyone can become affected by myotonic dystrophy but the onset typically occurs in the 20's or 30's. Children who are born with the disorder, called congenital myotonic dystrophy typically have a more severe form and because it is an autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance, it means that if you have the disorder you have a 50% chance to pass it onto your child.

This condition affects 1 in 8000 people worldwide. Although symptoms can be present from birth, getting a definite diagnosis is tricky as there are so many neuromuscular disorders out there. Those with the disorder typically start with general weakness beginning in the muscles of the hands, feet, neck or face. The weakness then slowly progresses to the other muscle groups including the heart. Those with a more mild case may only see weakness in one area, whereas those who have a more complex case will see multiple areas of weakness and muscle loss.

Sadly there is not a cure for myotonic dystrophy. If you are diagnosed with it you may be prescribed braces or orthotics to help with muscle support and some patients will find physiotherapy very helpful as they fight to keep their muscles strong. Although most patients do find a way to live with the disorder, sadly others do pass away from the disorder and it's multitude of symptoms.

Economics :The Danger of Losing Hope for Public Education

Currently, equitable education is not provided on a worldwide scale. Furthermore, the socioeconomic achievement gap is becoming wider apart than ever, leaving many bright minds undiscovered. This inequity in education is unacceptable, as it infringes not only on individual rights but also on society's morality and progression as a whole.

I find the issue of education especially personal, as public education was how I overcame my adversities, I grew up in a financially insecure, immigrant family in which I had many household responsibilities. I translated constantly for my parents, and I was expected to pay for my own financial expenses. However, as soon as I poured my energy into school work, I learned that knowledge was an equal playing field. It didn't matter who I was but only what I knew.

My free twelve years of schooling has allowed me to become a leader, serve others, and find my voice. I keep this constantly in mind, understanding I am beyond lucky to have had a public education. Without this education, I wouldn't be a Northwestern student. I would be a high school dropout, driving for Uber or working at a fast food restaurant like my parents who could not get a privilege to receive public education.

Because education is so important, students of all backgrounds should be able to attend school. Specifically, more focus should be on underprivileged school districts. Furthermore, it is essential to reinstate authority back to the teachers and students. This is to ensure that administrators spearhead education policy instead of uninformed government leaders. What is best for our students should no longer be overshadowed by politics. By listening to the people our legislation most affects, we can make better law.

According to The Atlantic, educators have criticized Trump administration's budget proposal detailing over $9 billion in education cuts, including slashes to funds for after-school programs that serve mostly low-income students. Moreover, these cuts came along with increased funding for school-privatization efforts such as school vouchers. United States Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos has repeatedly gestured her support for school choice and privatization, as well as her disdain for public schools, describing them as a "dead end".

Such cynicism suggests there is no hope for public education. However, this mindset is demonstrably false and even dangerous. Current discussion repeatedly ignores public schools' victories by trivializing their civic role. Our public-education system is about much more than personal achievement; it is about preparing people to work together to advance not just themselves but the whole society. Unfortunately, the current debate's focus on individual rights and choices has distracted many politicians and policy makers from a key stakeholder: our nation as a whole.

The Founding Fathers understood that a healthy democracy required education. Thomas Jefferson, among other historical titans, believed that a functioning democracy required an educated citizenry. Importantly, he viewed education as a public good to be included in the "Articles of public care," despite his personal preference for the private sector in most matters. John Adams, another advocate of public schooling, urged, "There should not be a district of one mile square, without a school in it, not founded by a charitable individual, but maintained at the expense of the people themselves."

In the centuries since, the courts have consistently affirmed the momentous status of public schools as a cornerstone of the American democratic project. In its vigorous defense of students' civil liberties, the Supreme Court has always held public schools to an particularly high standard precisely because they play a unique role in fostering citizens.

This role is not limited to civics instruction; public schools also provide students with crucial exposure to people of different backgrounds and perspectives. Americans have a closer relationship with the public-school system than with any other shared institution. But in the past few decades, we have allowed school system to grow more segregated, both racially and socioeconomically through privatization of such institutions.

Diane Ravich, an esteemed educational policy analyst, writes that "one of the greatest glories of the public school was its success in Americanizing immigrants." At their best, public schools did even more than that, integrating both immigrants and American-born students from a range of backgrounds into one citizenry. As an immigrant who moved to U.S without any prior exposure to its language or culture I can certainly affirm that my public education was a major factor that helped me to become a part of this society.

During times when our media preferences, political affiliations, and cultural tastes seem more disparate than ever, abandoning this amalgamating factor is a real threat to our future. And yet we seem to be headed in just that direction. The story of American public education has generally been one of continuing progress, as girls, children of color, and children with disabilities (among others) have redeemed their constitutional right to push through the schoolhouse gate.

Particularly, the courage that Ruby Nell Bridges displayed as the first black child to attend a white school continues to inspire people. During the process of racial desegregation in the 1960s, this six year-old activist became the first African-American student to integrate a white Southern elementary school, escorted to class by U.S. marshals due to violent mobs. It is noteworthy that the white school Ruby attended for her continued Civil Rights action was a public school. Out of all the school choices she had -charter school, magnet school, private school, or even homeschool- she chose a public school as a battleground to grant equitable education to everyone. This further emphasizes that public schools do not only foster youth to become responsible citizens or forge a common culture from a nation of immigrants; they also play a significant role at reducing inequalities in American society.

In conclusion, in this era of growing fragmentation, we urgently need a renewed commitment to the idea that public education is a worthy investment, one that pays dividends not only to individual families but to our society as a whole.

It is vital to get plenty of water every single day. Your health depends on it, literally. Without water, humans could not survive; nor could the trees, plants, animals, and all other living organisms on Earth. I was chatting with a librarian today who showed me a book she thought I might enjoy. I had mentioned I like over comer stories. This one had two stars, a librarian and a cat.

Author Vicky Myron went through some tough times. She overcame a divorce, welfare, completing her college education, a hysterectomy, a mastectomy and obtaining employment as a librarian.

One quote mentioned in her background story she had heard was that people have a pain tolerance of ten but won't take action toward change until it reaches nine. I can relate to that. I will add that to my mental notes on positive thinking and change.

So many over comer stories are about people but it's fun to hear about animal stories as well.

Dewey the kitten was placed by someone in the library return drop box during snow season. When staff got to work in the morning, they found the poor little guy crying and cold. Vicky decided to let him live at the library.

Initially, there were a few people with concerns of allergies or having live animals in the building. Vicky tried to think of ways to make it work. Over time, visitors came to love visiting the library. She had a name contest and the name chosen was "Dewey Readmore Books".

Dewey became a celebrity and stories about him were being featured. He lived for 19 years. In the beginning, Vicky was just happy to have a cat to love on but he ended up bringing comfort to everyone in town as well.

Pets can be therapeutic. They need love and so do we. There isn't always a home for every needy pet but what if we could come up with more scenarios like this that could provide a solution?

I love cats but my husband and daughter are both allergic to them. When I was a girl, I loved seeing the elderly cat ladies who took in every stray even though it was too much. I thought it was sweet. I would stick to one but think it could be fun to find creative environments for them.

I do believe God wants us to care for his creatures. I am saddened when I hear abuse stories. I'm glad this was a happy tale. Children learned to be gentle, the elderly, disabled and discouraged found comfort.

The kitten who could have died in the cold found warmth in the hearts of the community who loved him.

News :A Dream Undone

This dream can usually.be described in a ninety-minute movie that we have all seen 100 times and can predict the ending; the "self-made person genre" I prefer to call it. People are constantly told the classic tales of how certain individuals achieved their American Dream, but are rarely asked of how they want to achieve their own. The American Dream was originally written to create a sense of hope and to initialize a feeling of purpose in all people. In 21st century, society has turned the dream into an idol that we strive to obtain, rather than to pursue a life to each American's fullest potential.

We live in a world that is full of man-made idols. We worship high paying jobs, satisfactory social status, extensive education, designer clothing, social media, and the list could continue. Society has found that if we just reach the next level than we shall be content. Ethics become blurred, morals weaken, the desire for wealth grows for certain individuals, while the hope of surviving the next day is for others. There are explanations for these actions, or at least that is what is believed. However, there is one philosophy that rationalizes why Americans do what we do; The American Dream. This phrase was coined in 1931 by James Truslow Adams in his book, The Epic of America. With no jobs, money, homes, Americans were faced of a time of uncertainty. Adams wrote his ideas in confidence that it would inspire each individual to realize there will be better times, "a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable" (as quoted in Amadeo, 2015, para.1-2). While the American Dream's meaning will differ, depending on who is asked, there is a sense of individuality in Adams' definition. He never clearly specified what the "real" dream should be. In today's culture, the dream is labeled as a sort of "rags to riches" philosophy. The goal was never meant to merely jump socio-economic positions, but to strive to your own degree of success.

With the American Dream being a basis to find true individuality, it has become the demise of it. We live in a world that is focused on dividing individuals for making American culture "easier," when subconsciously it is ruining the beauty of what America was founded upon. Labels are placed upon race, gender, religion, economic status, political stances, that cause people to be "fit" into the category that suits best; no longer can there be a mixture of the wonderful differences that makes society. Society says it has become "evolved" and is "open-minded," since 1931, but are we? Groups such as Black Lives Matter, modern-day feminists, left-winged libertarians claim to be progressive, but are harming the distinctiveness of those who disagree with their view. Conservatives, certain religious institutions, traditional society members, claim to be accepting of modern views, but refuse to acknowledge that we live in a changing culture and that it might be okay to "think outside the box." Each group has their arguments, and for every argument there is a disagreement; for every disagreement, there is a division. Is each group not fighting for the plain fact of human individuality? As Richard Rodriguez (1992) discusses in his work "The Chinese in All of Us," "the belief we share in common as Americans is the belief that we are separate from one another" (p. 243). Americans are instilled with a drive, which is what made them "successful" in history. With that drive, an ego appears as well. Somewhere along the way American individuals developed a mindset that if a way of life or an opposite belief is presented, then it is wrong, just ask the Native Americans. Why is any human group more important than the other? Each is attempting to grasp the same American Dream that is encouraged by American culture, making the focus on society's dream, instead of each individual dream.

From a young age, American success stories are implanted in the minds of people. We are told how they did it, when, the struggles they overcame; it is fixed that to achieve "The American Dream," we must require the same attributes as those who are told to us. Labeling specific characteristics of the "dream," has resulted in the loss of self-content. We take the "right" jobs, "right" education, "right" life path, and constantly wonder why, forty-years down the road in a suburban town with two-point-five kids, the desire for something more remains. We are not living the life we envisioned, but what society envisioned for us. We awe at material wealth, judge those we disagree with us, become anxious on the number of likes we will receive on a filtered picture, distort the value of each individual, and so on. Culture has become consumed with focusing its agenda on anything and everyone around it, so it does not have to have it on itself. Are we to blame? We are told what is right to believe and what is not. We are told what success is. It is easier to conform with surroundings, than to have to discover individuality on our own. If early Americans lived by societal social norms, there would be no "American Dream," there would be no America at all. America was found upon individual freedom and now it is taken away. Not by governmental officials or modern views, but by the inability to accept differences. The value of success should depend on the individual that is acquiring it. A person's job status ought to be what position they want. Intelligence should be based upon what each individual wishes it to be, not the degree held. Adams intended the "dream" to be an idea to ignite individuals to go and pursue their potential and for others to be accepting and encouraging of that. That the "dream" will be unique to everyone, now the dream has become a set of adjectives that society uses to measure success.

The word success relates to a multitude of ideas. Living in a capitalist society, typically, success describes wealth. Since the early fourteenth century, forms of capitalism have been infused in American culture. A common misconception about capitalism is that it only affects elements relating to the economic system, not to the totality of American mindsets. The idea of a free market system with the possibility of accumulating high wages is appealing to most. The underlining feature of capitalism is that it ingrains individuals with the impression to never be satisfied. Could this correlate with why over fifty percent of American married couples end up in divorce? Or even why the American obesity rate is now around thirty-five percent? In society, we strive to grasp the "next best thing," in comparison to individual accomplishment. The basis of success is monitored by which version of an IPhone is had, the label of clothing that is worn, and the amount of money in bank accounts. No longer does society care whether we have personal happiness and potential, but if it is implied to those around us that we do. It is determined that the American Dream is accomplished, if wealth has been accomplished. The examples I listed before, each had gone from "rags to riches," which is not bad, just an example of how Americans relate the "dream" back to social status and capital. Is the "dream" unfilled by the factory worker who was the first of his family to graduate high school? The high-school dropout who sings at the local bar every night of the week or the immigrant who owns a small restaurant? Success should be viewed through the ideas of those who got "bored with the routine" of society and decided "to be part of the beauty" (Marquis, 1927, pp.196-197).

American culture is an intricate collaboration of many individuals. We have become so caught up in the categories we and others are in to realize that all of us are human. We have goals and dreams that go unfulfilled because we have developed society's outlook. It says that there is a distinction between skin color, religion, and social-class. Regardless of which side you are on, there will be an opposing group showing biased views. America has become a hypocritical nation against itself. It was found on the principle of acceptance and now it turns individuals against one another, by trying to achieve the same identical "dream." We are greedy, egocentric, wealth-driven people, attempting to discover our place. Society has shoved the ideas of what success and goals should be present, leaving no room to determine it on our own. It is not merely to the fault of those before, but also to us in the present. Opportunities are given from this crazy universe that are refused because it does not fall into what is acceptable for society. The "American Dream" has turned into an "American Nightmare," filled with "cookie cutter" individuals who live by the aspirations of what they are told instead of what they want. In attempt that everyone strives for the same one goal, society is in the possibility of losing individuality forever. Adams wished for a time where the public was filled with people who had diverse ambitions, leading to an assorted society. Where it did not matter of the cars that were driven, the skin color they had, the amount of money made, the political stances taken, but by the individuals in America and those who wish to come to it.

The English teacher, the policeman, the stay-at-home mom, the barista, the yoga teacher, all individuals who represent the American Dream. For society to fully reach its potential, Americans must realize the amazing talents and dreams we have. To no longer go off what society says we can do, but what is instilled in each individual. If we continue striving for the misrepresentation of what Adams wrote, new ideas, inventions, discoveries, creativity, different philosophies will no longer exist. Americans will continue in our wealth-driven culture and lose the wonderful variances of those who make up our society. The "dream" will continue to validate following societal norms, leaving us in a predictable world.
