InternetMarketing - Too Busy For Your Business To Grow?

By Jon Allo

Just about every business owner starts with the idea of growing their business to become something bigger and better. But as your business grows in recognition, income and overall results, it also means that you have a much bigger workload.

You end up spending too much time working in the business rather than working on the business. If you find that you're battling to get everything done on time, you can try batching.

It's a method of organization which should help you to save time in your business and be more effective.

Save Time Every Day With Batching

Batching is a technique where you devote specific time periods to certain tasks which you need to finish - and the tasks are all similar. For instance, this could be setting aside an hour to reply to emails and send out new emails to new contacts. Or it could be half an hour to write a new blog post or add some videos to your website.

When you know that you have a number of blog pasts to write, it's not uncommon to swap between one post and another. But you'll be much more effective if you concentrate your attention on one task at a time. Aim to touch each post, article, video or whatever only once and finish it. By batching your tasks you can accomplish more.

How Does Batching Save Time?

Not everyone has the capability to stay focused and on target all the way during the day. Even sitting down for an hour or so with the objective to complete the tasks you need to do can quickly change into something else. And what was intended to take a couple of minutes can take much longer than you had planned for.

In addition to staying more focused and being able to finish one task, batching will also mean that you save a lot of time. Every time you lose concentration and start doing something else, it can take 10-15 minutes to gain back your focus and remember what you were doing and get back on track.

How Can You Start With Batching?

To if batching makes it possible for you to save time in your business, start by making a list of all the jobs that you need to finish in a given time frame. Based on either priority or the amount of time you foresee each one is going to take, make a list with an allocation of the time period to each one.

The strategy is to then stick to the time period you have allocated to each task, and concentrate only on that one specific thing. This will stop you getting sidetracked and trying to do something else at the same time. The fact you have given yourself a time frame to complete it by will help you to stick to the target and complete it successfully.

If you've been doing everything yourself, you'll quickly find that this is a limiting factor in the growth of your business. Putting systems in place makes things quicker, and it makes it easier to outsource, giving you more time to focus on growth and new ideas.
