Type 2 Diabetes - Is The Zone Diet A Good Choice For Diabetics?

Type 2 Diabetes - Is The Zone Diet A Good Choice For Diabetics?

By Beverleigh H Piepers

One popular diet you may have heard about is the Zone diet. And you may have read many people have found good results; but is it ideal for those who have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes? Let us take a closer look.

What Is The Zone Diet? The zone diet is a very balanced diet plan that has you consuming...

1200 calories if you are female, and

1500 calories if you are male.

This diet also prescribes a macronutrient split of...

30% protein,

30% dietary fat, and

40% carbohydrates.

As you can see the above split gives a very balanced approach. No foods are cut out or eliminated, and blood sugar levels should remain quite stable with energy levels maintained at an ideal level.

The diet does allow most foods to be permitted in the plan. However, high sugar items are discouraged as are any processed foods. You want to stick with whole foods as much as possible.

Benefits Of The Zone Diet. So what are the benefits of the Zone approach? As noted above, you will maintain stable blood sugar levels for the most part with this diet because with every carbohydrate you take in, you will be consuming some protein and fat as well. Additionally, because this diet focuses on wholesome foods, your overall nutritional status will also likely rise, and you will do an excellent job at preventing disease.

Finally, hunger is usually quite low on the zone diet because protein and dietary fat make up such a significant component of the plan. So, if hunger is something that typically does you in when you diet, this might be one good reason to consider the Zone diet.

Should You Use The Zone Diet? Is it right for those with Type 2 diabetes? Overall, it's a pretty good option for those who are suffering from diabetes. The good thing about the diet is you will not be eating carbohydrates on their own, which is something everyone with diabetes should be careful about.

The only thing you do want to note is 40% of your total calories will still come from carbohydrates, which is a little on the high-end. Some people who are struggling with their blood sugar control may want to keep their carbohydrate intake a bit lower, closer to 25 to 30%.

If this is the case, just swap some of the carbs for fats, and you should be good to go.

Overall, the Zone diet can be a brilliant diet plan to use if you are looking to reach your ideal body weight and stabilize your blood sugar levels.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

However, it is important to be aware of the use and restrictions so as to have a positive impact on your health.

You can protect your ears very effectively from any loud noises and limit your exposure to noise even in the workplace. There are different models available in the market. It is important to learn the dos and the don'ts of using them.

Clean or discard

If you have to use them every day, it is very important that you clean them regularly or discard them depending on the model. This is because when they are not replaced or cleaned, there is a greater chance of having bacteria in the ear canal. Earwax can also lead to the rigidity of the same and this puts a strain within the ear canal. This may lead to great pain as well as ear infections. Hearing loss is also a common occurrence. Therefore, you should discard the foam models every day and then clean any modeled or pre-modeled ones every day.

Earwax

Earwax may look like it is annoying or useless. However, you need to appreciate the fact that it is very useful. This is produced by the ear and helps in the normal process. It corrects the ear skin and also guards and lubricates so as to keep the ear clean. The wax then slips from the ears taking with it impurities. Using the earplugs can actually make it hard for the natural process to carry one and cause a wax buildup. This may make it hard to hear. You should be able to remove the wax and you may opt to see a professional who will clean them for you.

Insertion

You should do the correct insertion. It may seem like an easy task but you need to be very keen. You should first roll it, open the ear, and then hold the plug after insertion. You should find out more about what a correct fit should be like so as to avoid doing it the wrong way.

Introduction to Hormone Replacement Therapy

Introduction to Hormone Replacement Therapy

By Emmet K McMahan

An imbalance of hormones can cause a range of psychological and physiological symptoms. People generally produce fewer hormones as they age, and hormonal deficiencies may also result from environmental and nutritional factors. Restoring hormones to their proper balance often improves a person's health and overall happiness. Physicians achieve this goal with hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which supplements a person's natural supply of hormones such as estrogen and testosterone. Men and women may both receive HRT, although the specific benefits and effectiveness differ between the sexes.

Overview

HRT may refer to any type of therapy in which the patient receives hormones as medical treatment. This includes supplements of naturally-occurring hormones as well as the substitution of similar hormones. HRT generally has three forms, including HRT for menopause, androgen replacement therapy and HRT for transgender people.

The purpose of HRT for menopause is to reduce the symptoms caused by a reduction in the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the bloodstream. This commonly occurs during menopause, although women who have their ovaries removed also have a lower estrogen level.

Androgen replacement therapy (ART) is primarily used to supplement a man's natural testosterone. This is generally the result of hypogonadism, in which a man's testes don't produce sufficient amounts of testosterone. Various conditions such as cancer can cause hypogonadism, and it's also a natural part of the aging process.

HRT is also an essential part of changing to another gender. The female-to-male transgender process requires HRT with testosterone and the male-to-female process requires HRT with estrogen. People with chromosomal abnormalities that prevent them from being distinctly identified as male or female may also receive HRT.

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is a type of HRT that uses hormones that are molecularly identical to the ones used in traditional HRT. The goal of this form of HRT is generally to achieve a desired hormone level, as measured by blood or saliva testing. Hormones commonly used in BHRT include estradiol, estrone and progesterone, which are commonly available in manufactured products and products compounded at a pharmacy. BHRT may use dehydroepiandrosterone and testosterone, although the availability of these products is more limited in North America. Estriol is also available in Europe for BHRT.

Administration

Physicians may administer HRT with a variety of methods including pellets, pills, patches and creams. They will routinely adjust the specific dosage and approach to provide maximum benefits with minimal side effects. It's therefore essential for patients to report any side effects when receiving HRT.

Pellets

Pellets are inserted under the skin, where they release a consistent dose of hormones over a period of time, typically at least four months. This administration method is most often used in BHRT with pellets that contain hormones from natural sources such as plants. Pellets create smaller fluctuations in hormone levels compared to other administration methods, which can result in a roller coaster effect as the hormone level rises and falls.

Pills

HRT that uses estrogen often relies on pills to administer this hormone. These pills typically contain progestin as well unless the woman has had a hysterectomy. Estrogen HRT can generally be divided into continuous therapies and cyclic therapies. A continuous method involves taking pills with estrogen and progestin every day, which may cause irregular bleeding.

A cyclic method involves taking a pill containing estrogen for 25 days out of the month and another pill with progestin for 10 to 14 days out of the month. This method can cause monthly bleeding due to the withdrawal of estrogen. HRT specialists generally recommend limiting HRT for menopause to a period of five years at the lowest dose needed to treat the symptoms. Some pills used in HRT contain raloxifene, which is an estrogen-like compound known as a selective estrogen receptor modulator.

Patches and Creams

Therapists also use patches to deliver a variety of hormones, including estrogen and testosterone. The patch then delivers the hormone into the bloodstream at a specific rate. The patch is typically applied by the patient to the buttocks or abdomen for up to one week. The patient may then remove the old patch and apply a new one. A patch remains on at all times, even while bathing or swimming.

Patches that deliver estrogen can cause monthly bleeding, just as it does in pill form. A patch that provides ART for postmenopausal women and women who have become menopausal due to surgery has been approved in Europe. However, the FDA has not yet approved it for use in the United States. Cream that contains estrogen can treat urinary problems and vaginal dryness by inserting it into the vagina or around the vulva.

Estrogen and Progestin

Estrogen is the primary female sex hormone, which plays an essential role in regulating a woman's menstrual cycle along with other related compounds. Progestin is a synthetic hormone that belongs to a class of hormones known as progesterones. It is commonly used in HRT to prevent a proliferation of endometrial cells, medically known as endometrial hyperplasia. This condition often occurs when estrogen is used by itself in HRT. Progestin is also used by itself or in combination with estrogen to prevent conception.

Benefits

The University of Maryland Medical Center reports that female sex hormones are most often used to relieve symptoms of menopause such as the following:

Anxiety

Hot flashes

Night sweats

Sleep difficulties

Vaginal dryness

A study appearing in a 2009 issue of Maturitas showed that this form of HRT may increase a woman's life expectancy and reduce her risk of dementia.

HRT for menopause usually involves reducing the dosage of hormones over two years, which is especially effective at reducing the severity of hot flashes and night sweats. The reduction in estrogen production can also make a woman more prone to osteoporosis, which may also be prevented by HRT.

The Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners published a study in 2007 regarding the effectiveness of HRT in the treatment of postmenopausal symptoms. The study consisted of a systematic review of 602 articles appearing in scientific journals such as Pubmed, Medline and Medscape. This study concluded that HRT can relieve postmenopausal symptoms and may also treat conditions that are co-morbid with menopause including some cardiovascular conditions, colorectal cancer, type II diabetes and osteoporosis.

Recent studies show that HRT is often effective for the treatment of osteoporosis, whether the therapy consists only of estrogen or estrogen combined with progestin. Current research on the effectiveness of postmenopausal symptoms and other co-morbid conditions are more limited. HRT can improve the quality of life of postmenopausal women, and it may also increase the longevity of some women. More research is needed to establish the long-term risks and benefits of HRT. Additional research will also allow healthcare providers to better educate patients on receiving HRT, including which specific therapies are preferred and whether to consider alternative forms of HRT.

Testosterone

Testosterone is a hormone that belongs to the androgen group, and is also the primary male sex hormone. The testes of male mammals produce testosterone, as does the ovaries of females. The adrenal glands also produce testosterone, although in smaller amounts. Testosterone causes the masculizing effects that occur in boys during puberty, and some of these changes begin to reverse themselves when a man's testosterone production declines during middle age. This condition is sometimes known as andropause, although this term is not currently recognized as a medical classification by the World Health Organization.

ART may use testosterone as well as synthetic androgens such as nandrolone. It can be self-administered by the patient using various means such as creams, gels, pills, tablets and patches. A physician may also administer ART by injecting the androgen deep into the patient's fat or muscle.

Benefits for Men

A man's testosterone production normally declines as he enters middle age, which often produces the following categories of symptoms:

Physical changes

Emotional changes

Sexual dysfunction

The physical changes caused by a reduced testosterone level typically include a loss of muscle mass and strength. It can increase the amount of body fat, especially abdominal fat. It may also decrease bone density and cause the skin to become thinner. Hair loss, fatigue and hot flashes are symptoms that may occur in middle-aged men. Additional symptoms of a low testosterone level include tender, swollen breasts, known medically as gynecomastia. Low testosterone may also cause sleeping difficulties such as insomnia, and it's a risk factor for type II diabetes and metabolic syndrome.

Emotional changes associated with low testosterone in men include a loss of self-confidence and motivation. It can also create feelings of depression and sadness. A low testosterone level can cause some men to experience difficulty with memory and concentration.

Sexual problems are also a common result of low testosterone. The may include a reduction in the frequency of spontaneous erections and a loss of sexual desire. Erectile dysfunction and infertility are more severe sexual problems caused by lower testosterone.

The development of ART is primarily the result of dissatisfaction with the male aging process. Hypogonadism is common in older men, although it's frequently undiagnosed and rarely treated. A 2008 study in PostGraduate Medicine reports strongly consistent evidence that ART is effective in restoring a man's loss of sexual function and body composition due to low testosterone. The evidence for ART's effectiveness in restoring bone density is moderately consistent. The evidence for reducing the patient's sensitivity to insulin, lipid levels and glycemic control is inconsistent. The evidence that ART can improve a patient's cognitive function and mood is weakly inconsistent.

The 2008 study shows that the evidence strongly contradicts the claim by some physicians that ART increases the risk of prostate cancer. However, this study also states that long-term trials lasting at least 10 years would make the evidence more convincing. It also urges primary-care physicians to be more alert in diagnosing and treating hypogonadism when it causes symptoms.

Current guidelines indicate that physicians should include screening for hypogonadism as part of the normal physical examination of men once they reach the age of 40 to 50 years. Physicians should also test a man's testosterone level whenever he exhibits the symptoms of hypogonadism. Patients who display symptoms of hypogonadism and have a serum testosterone level below 300 nanograms per deciliter should consider ART. A patient who receives ART should be examined every three to six months so that the therapy may be adjusted if needed.

Benefits for Women

The primary purpose of ART for women is the treatment of sexual dysfunction, including low sexual desire, sexual enjoyment, willingness to initiate sex and ability to reach orgasm. ART is particularly effective among women who have undergone premature menopause, which occurs after the surgical removal of the ovaries. Postmenopausal women may also experience an increase in their sex drive when taking ART. The use of ART for this purpose remains controversial, with opponents arguing that that the clinical significance of ART is marginal.

A study published in a 2006 issue of Menopause examined the effects of women taking ART against those taking a placebo in a 24 week trial. This study showed that the women who took androgens experienced a significantly greater increase in sexual desire compared to the women in the placebo group. The primary side effects in this study included masculizing effects such as the following:

Hirutism

Acne

Increase in blood volume

Increase in lipoproteins

Increase in cardiovascular risk

Endometrial hyperplasia is also a risk in women who have had a hysterectomy. The long-term effects of ART in women have not yet been evaluated.

Summary

Anyone who believes they may be suffering from a hormonal imbalance should consult a specialist with specific training in HRT. A doctor who is certified in BHRT can test your blood to see if you a good candidate for this form of therapy. Your physician will also need to know about your medical history before you should receive this therapy. It's essential to weigh the potential benefits against the potential risks, and each patient is unique.

Spinal Bracing: A Treatment Option for Scoliosis in Children

Spinal Bracing: A Treatment Option for Scoliosis in Children

By Sujish Kandampully

When a child is diagnosed with scoliosis, parents mind get filled with visions of him or her wearing a spinal brace to cure the curve. Parents might start thinking about how long this brace has to be worn and how will their child react if it would stop the trajectory.

So before, getting to that point, there are few things one should know about spinal bracing for scoliosis.

Observation Recommended for Scoliosis

After managing various tests and exams, the doctor will develop a treatment plan for the Childs' scoliosis. Usually, with a small curve, the first step is observation - giving the curve some time to see if it has any progress further.

The child will be inspected every 3 - 4 months, and during that inspection, the doctor will order an X-ray if the curve seems to be increased. It is vital to minimise the number of X-rays taken (because of exposure to radiation), and in many other cases, one X-ray per year should be considered sufficient.

When Is Spinal Bracing Recommended?

With curves or with more severe curves that are likely to progress (to get worse), bracing is a massive non-surgical treatment option to try to stop the curve from getting worse.

Before, recommending for bracing, the doctor will determine:

1. How much growing the child has left to do?

2. Where the curve is - because a curve in mid-back (thoracic spine) is more likely to worsen than a bend in the low back (lumbar spine)?

3. How severe is the curve and how it is affecting their Childs' life?

4. How likely the curve will get worse - because if the curve is sharp enough and the child hasn't gone through his or her adolescent growth period, it is likely to get worse they grow further?

Bracing is the conventional treatment for children having curves greater than 20 and at least two years of growth is remaining. Bracing is never prescribed when the slider is greater than 40. In that case, surgery may be required.

It is vital to remember that a brace can help to stop the curve from progressing further, but it usually won't fix the curve which is already there.

Wearing the Brace

Wearing a brace is a significant commitment, provided that the parents and their children need to work on together. For bracing to be as efficient as possible, remember the key points listed below:

1. Follow the doctors' order:

The doctor will decide what kind of brace is best suitable for their child's curve and for how long they can wear it every day. Some children have to wear their braces up to 23 hours a day (while that is an intimidating number), it is very crucial that the child should wear the brace for full time. The doctor will work out with the parents to figure out when their child doesn't need to wear his or her brace.

2. Wear it well:

The child may be in and out of their brace for few times in a day - during their gym class, for example. It is vital that every time they put their brace back on, it is tight enough and well positioned. If it is not, then it won't do much good.

3. Watch out what you wear:

Beneath the brace, the child should wear a shirt that fits them well and does not wrinkle. This will protect their skin; else they would get irritated from the brace. On the brace, the child can wear regular clothes, though they might have to get clothes of a size or two bigger to fit over the brace.

Bracing may be uncomfortable - both emotionally and physically. At times when kids do not want to be different, a brace is a noticeable difference.

6 Commonly Asked Scoliosis Questions Finally Answered

6 Commonly Asked Scoliosis Questions Finally Answered

By Sujish Kandampully

Scoliosis is nothing but the sideways curvature of the spine. It occurs mostly during the growth spurt just before puberty. Most cases are found to be mild with only a few symptoms. Some children develop spine distortion that gets worse as they grow. Worse scoliosis can be painful and disabling. Though this disease is self - diagnosable, it cannot be cured, and therefore treatment is not mandatory. But sometimes surgery or brace is needed, lab tests or imaging is always required. Since it is a chronic disease, it can last for years or may stay lifelong.

Commonly Asked Questions (C.A.Q.)

1. How does an individual discover that he or she has scoliosis?

Scoliosis or curvature of the spine usually produces a cosmetic distortion. Visible asymmetries in the shape of the back and the observation that one hip or shoulder is higher than the other are the most general signs that someone has scoliosis. These asymmetries are more evident in adolescence during the fast growth spurts and may be detected by friends or parents.

2. Is drinking enough milk or consuming junk food responsible for scoliosis?

In sporadic cases, scoliosis may be caused by dietary issues. Scoliosis may be a rare finding in diseases where lack of calcium causes softening of the bone. Whatsoever one consumes and the quantity of food one consumes doesn't produce any curvature in the spine. Regarding junk food, they never cause any curve to the spine.

3. Does it hurt?

Adolescents and children who are suffering from scoliosis seldom complain of pain. If the pain is the primary reason for a young patient, then further analysis is required beyond standard x - rays to put in place an underlying cause of the curvature. For example, in rare instances, an excellent inflammatory focus of tissue (osteoid osteoma) can produce curvature of the spine.

The population of adults that are diagnosed with scoliosis seek treatment because of pain. As one grows old, the spine becomes less ductile and undergoes changes which lower the water content in the disks and cause inflammation in the joints.

4. Since surgery is not mandatory, does wearing a hard brace the only choice to preserve the spine?

Though there is a little dispute as to whether patients who qualify for specific criterion should be braced, the precise choice of the brace type and the time span of brace wear generates some exchange of views.

5. Who is fit for spinal surgery? Who is the decision maker for surgery and how worse the curve has to be?

For a patient discovered with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, who has never undergone spine surgery, the leading indicator for an operation is a growing curvature measuring 40 or more. The physician will suggest surgery based on medical necessity (not at all a cosmetic reason), and then the surgical options are talked over with the patient, and with the parents of any patient who is below 18 years. The choice to proceed with the surgery is entirely on the hand of the patient except for who is below 18 years.

6. Is there any age restriction?

The final commitment for surgery is based on medical criteria, which includes the degree of curvature, the progress of curve and the skeletal maturity of the patient. Through surgical intervention, the spinal curvature can daily be made correct to 40% of the original size, but the curative aim should be more vitally be producing a fused spine that leaves the patient balanced.

Do Yourself This Favor: Technology Cleanse

Do Yourself This Favor: Technology Cleanse

By Aaron Phillips

New disorders have been named to accommodate the growing number of people addicted to specific technologies; World of Warcraft and other video games, Facebook, Smartphones at dinner, Candy Crush, and more. Anyone remember the craze of the most addicting Facebook game of them all, Farmville?! Most Americans can say they would like to be less glued to their technology. Screen time has been known to cause sleep disturbance, and with work becoming more mobile, it becomes more and more invasive of our personal time. You can set boundaries, and a priming technology cleanse might be just what the doctor ordered to begin living in the real world and online with balance. Follow the following suggestions to have a successful technology cleanse.

Outline Your Cleanse

Without a plan, you plan to fail. Technology cleanses are probably one of the hardest cleanses to endure because it's not a physical challenge, but a mental one. Decide how long you will cleanse for (typically 2-3 days or a week) and plan to begin 2-3 days prior so that you are not quitting cold turkey. Also set parameters of what technology you will obstain from, or when you will be able to use them. During this planning phase, decide what you want to spend your time doing instead. You will need this outline to refer to when you are feeling the itch, which brings us to our next point; relapse prevention.

Relapse Pre-Prevention

Decide why you are doing this technology cleanse and write your answer down. Place this card somewhere you will see it daily as a reminder, or keep it on you at all times. I'd suggest you take a picture with your phone so you always have it, but during a technology cleanse, you may not have that luxury. Revisit your "why" when you feel "the itch".

Some last important suggestions before you get started are to notify anyone who needs to know you are doing a technology cleanse. This may be people you work with or for, Facebook friends or groups you normally converse with, or people closest to you that can help support you during your cleanse. Prepare for your return to technology, too. One of the best ways to do this is to unsubscribe to any email subscriptions you no longer care for. Go through and uninstall any unnecessary apps and turn off unnecessary notifications of the apps you are keeping. The last suggestion of this article is to learn to use 'Airplane Mode' which disables your phone's ability to send or receive text messages, calls, or notifications. This mode may also be sometimes called flight mode, standalone mode, or offline mode and can be used in a number of situations. You can enable flight mode when you don't want to be disturbed, when going into important meetings, to charge your battery faster, or reserve the battery life you already have.

Weight Loss - Creating Your Personal Weight Loss Plan

Weight Loss - Creating Your Personal Weight Loss Plan

By Beverleigh H Piepers

Has needing to lose weight been on your mind? If so, you are in the process of following a weight loss plan or not doing anything at all. There is no middle ground. If the latter applies to you, it pays to take a moment to consider why you are not making an effort to reach your goals. Is it because of a lack of guidance and instruction? Surely you want to lose weight; otherwise, you would not be thinking about it. Perhaps the need to lose weight is more significant than your desire to get lean. Often this is the case for many adults, who realize being overweight is more problematic than it initially seems.

You may need some guidance. So let's talk about some tips for creating a weight loss program that will work for you. If you are already making an effort, the following might still be of use to you...

1. Outline your objectives. First, you must outline your goals. Don't focus so much on the specifics. It is not nearly as important to set how much weight you ought to lose, as it is focusing on the process itself. It is better to focus on losing weight generally, not how much.

Have your "why" adequately figured out before you begin.

2. Eat well. Not surprisingly, it is vital to eat well when starting a weight loss program. Your food choices matter, more than you may think.

It becomes especially important to eat the right carbohydrates if you have high blood sugar. In any case, it will probably do you well to eat more fruits and vegetables than you already do, and eat a healthy balance of proteins and fats. They are all important.

3. Mind your portion sizes. Your portion sizes are just as important as your food choices. Even if you are selecting healthy carbohydrates such as brown rice and sweet potatoes, you can still overeat and losing weight will then be much harder.

Counting calories helps, but is too tedious for most people. By eating slowly, you will have a better idea of how much you should be eating. Always stop eating before you feel full, and don't hesitate to feel hungry for a part of your day.

4. Begin exercising. If you have not already, start exercising. It will help, no matter which exercise program you chose. Even walking will help get the job done.

5. Anticipate setbacks. Setbacks will occur: know you will not make weekly progress forever. You will stall eventually. You will get frustrated. Relax and make adjustments if needed. Don't stress, and be patient: weight loss requires patience more than anything.

Lastly, remember to make your weight loss program your own. What works for other people will not necessarily work for you. Feel free to experiment with different diets and exercise plans. But know you will have to discover what yields the best results for you and your body.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

For nearly 25 years, Beverleigh Piepers has searched for and found a number of secrets to help you build a healthy body. Go to http://DrugFreeType2Diabetes.com to learn about some of those secrets.

The answer isn't in the endless volumes of    available information but in yourself.

Botox Treatment To Stop Embarrassing Excessive Underarm Sweating

By Mags Whyler

Everybody sweats, it's a normal, healthy way to regulate the body temperature in hot weather, and during times of exercise. When we get hot, we sweat, and when the sweat evaporates, it cools us off. Sweating is a normal response to nervousness and anxiety, because emotions can also affect the sweat glands.

A few factors about why you sweat;

Male and Female

Men sweat the most, especially during rigorous exercising, and even though women have more sweat glands than men, they produce less sweat from each gland.

Body Mass

Because men are usually heavier and have more muscle mass, they tend to produce more heat than women do while exercising. So it seems that the higher a person's body mass index (BMI), the more they sweat.

Alcohol

Alcohol will increase your heart rate and dilate the blood vessels, making your skin look flushed. Too much alcohol consumption will raise your body temperature, causing you to sweat more.

Spicy Foods

Your body temperature will go up when you eat spicy foods, causing your body to produce sweat to help cool itself down.

Hot Weather

On hot sunny days your body temperature will rise, increasing the heart rate and the blood flow, trying to cool itself down. However, in humid weather, when there's more moisture in the air, it's harder for the sweat on your skin to evaporate, slowing down the cooling process.

Constant sweating

People who experience excessive sweating are suffering from a condition known as hyperhidrosis, and this condition causes them to perspire more than is necessary to regulate their body temperature.

Those of us who sweat a lot, know that it can cause inconvenience, be uncomfortable, and even be embarrassing in some situations, as some of us will find out as we begin a glorious sunny summer.

There are things that you can do to keep your sweating to a minimum;

Clinical strength antiperspirants - Try to use antiperspirants labelled as clinical strength, which usually has aluminium chloride as its active ingredient. And don't forget - antiperspirants keep you from sweating, whilst deodorants just make you smell nice when you sweat.

Botox injections - We can inject botox into the skin, to the areas of the body affected by hyperhidrosis. Botox helps to reduce sweating in these areas by blocking the signals from the brain to the sweat glands.

Diet - Calcium can slow down the sweating so eating calcium rich foods like low-fat yogurt, cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, almonds, baked beans, kale and collard greens will help to regulate temperature and reduce perspiration.

Botox hyperhidrosis treatment is an excellent alternative with outstanding results to stop excessive sweating.

Have You Washed Your Hands?

Have You Washed Your Hands?

By Pragun Ahimai

Taking care of hand hygiene is the first step to stay healthy. It helps to avoid getting sick due to spreading germs. Hygiene and sanitation help us in developing good living habits. These habits are beneficial for our health. We need to keep our homes, our surroundings, our city clean. It all begins with personal hygiene.

Self hygiene

Personal hygiene is essential for good health. Washing your hands is the first step to it. Most of the infections make way in our body through our hands only. From morning till evening our hands come in contact with a lot of things. We touch doors, knobs, buttons, faucets, washroom, brush, cups, mugs, utensils, drawers, car, bike, currency notes, coins, items kept in racks of malls, cutlery, accelerator, stairs, public places and a lot of similar things. Just think how many things you touch in one whole day. We are exposed to a lot of infections, in-house as well as outside.

Washing hands should be a continuous habit to stay away from infections. Germs are everywhere but you can't see them. Keeping hands clean is the first step we can take to avoid getting sick.

When to wash hands

After using a dishcloth or cleaning mop.

After bringing vegetables and fruits from the market.

Before, during and after cooking.

When kids come back after playing.

After playing with pets.

After handling animals and animal waste.

After using the toilets.

After changing diapers.

After handling wounds.

After handling and touching dirty laundry.

After dusting, broom and mopping the house.

After sneezing and coughing.

After touching insecticide sprays.

After emptying or cleaning bins.

After using public toilets.

After handling currency notes and coins.

After touching doors, chairs, tables, knobs, switches in restaurants, malls etc.

After visiting hospitals, clinic.

After attending sick members.

After visiting a gym or sports club

After using a swimming pool

Don't underestimate or ignore this simple habit of washing hands. Kids generally skip this basic habit, it's our duty to explain the importance of washing hands.

There is a popular English Nursery Rhyme on Wash Your Hands too. To wash our hands we should -

use soap and water

use liquid soaps

use hand sanitizer

Hands should be scrubbed and rinsed properly using soap and water. Good hand hygiene is in our own hands.

Precaution is better than cure is a well known saying and washing our hands is one such precaution which can lead to better health and hygiene.

Why You Need To Pay Attention Towards Your Dentist

Why You Need To Pay Attention Towards Your Dentist

By Jagat Kumar Rakesh

We all are aware of our health problems and strive hard to maintain health at all costs. Be it hitting the gym early morning or doing yoga on the floor of your hall are all some small steps which get compounded towards our goal. But when we talk about our dental health, people are not much aware of the benefits of oral health nor pay much attention towards it.

Dental health as a matter of fact is very essential for an overall wellbeing. A good oral health can be considered as a mirror to an overall health.

One should definitely pay a visit to the dentist every six months. It is very important with respect to the dental health. People always see the smile of yours when they meet you. And when the teeth holding your smile have a compromised health will not have a good effect.

Paying a visit to a dentist is always a good idea as he will not only do a thorough check up of your teeth but also will evaluate you on your over all health factors. Many a times, dental diseases are a sign of collateral damages which are taking place silently and damaging you underneath.

People who suffer from diabetes do not see the deterioration they are suffering from in their body, for such people, teeth and their gums will show the exact condition of their health. The gums must be swollen and receding, with poor health and pyorrhea in the mouth. Also upon taking an X-Ray one can come to know as to what damage has the disease caused in the bones. Quite likely the chances are that the underneath bones will be angularly receding making the teeth loose and fall apart. Much similar are the signs and symptoms in hypertension patients and thyroid patients.

Visiting a dentist may also prove very effective and beneficial in cases when one is scared of visiting him and taking the treatment. Regular visits will make sure that the fear goes away with time and the teeth are properly maintained.

There are many risk factors involved with the health of the teeth. Oral cancers slip into our systems and we don't even get aware of the culprit. In such cases, it is really very important to visit the dentist regularly to be aware of the current condition of our health and to start taking treatments as soon as possible.

Also it is always a good idea to keep plaque, calculus and cavities at bay. The cavities once formed cannot be replaced with new enamel so treating them in their early stages is always better than making the condition worse up to a point when the cavities turn so bad that an endodontic intervention may be required.

Many people have bad habits of smoking and chewing on tobacco. Such patients should be warned son enough so that they do not reach a stage when the treatment becomes very difficult and the condition becomes benign.

Questions To Ask Your Dentist Before You Go For Dental Treatment

Questions To Ask Your Dentist Before You Go For Dental Treatment

By Jagat Kumar Rakesh

Every time we have a dental pain or swelling or any problem regarding our teeth and gums, we always look for a dentist who can treat us and help us get rid of our problems. But finding good dentists is in itself a big take of responsibility. It takes a lot of homework before you finalize on any one dentist and choose him for the rest of your family too. Let us see what those questions are which could be asked from a dentist before choosing him for the dental treatments.

1. Ask for his qualification and experience. Many a times, the qualification a dentist possess is way too impressive but when it comes to experience in the work field, he is not very well versed with different types of cases and is not very well experienced. Also look for the dentist whose qualification matches your dental purpose. Dentistry has 8 branches overall. Among which 6 are clinical branches. You have to choose the dentist according to what dental ailment you are suffering from.

2. Ask the dentist whether he is associated with any charity organizations or does he participate in any country's good intention programs like conducting free dental check-ups etc. A dentist who is involved in such charitable works is always a kind hearted and a good person who can be looked forward to going as patients In future.

3. Ask the dentist about his staff and his environment. All these questions might seem trivial and without any importance, but the truth is that a good and humble staff is a strong pillar of any good dental practice. A patient who enters a dental clinic doesn't see the dentist first but his staff. If you are not greeted politely and talked through humbly and in a compassionate way, there are quite less chances of building belief and trust in the dentist. A patient already in pain and anxiety is not ready for rude behavior at all.

4. Ask the dentist whether he follows a proper protocol of sterilization in his dental office. Since dental treatment involves certain amount of saliva and blood exposures, it is quite likely that infection and contamination will take place if a systematic sterilization in a prescribed sterilization tools is not done. Sterilization of each instruments and equipment used in a case is very essential and crucial if looked at the health perspective.

5. Visit the dentist to look for the cleanliness and neatness of the dental office. See whether latest magazines are kept in the waiting room. By doing so, you would get an idea of the dentist using latest equipment and instruments in his dental procedures too. Clean curtains and neatly laid reception papers and necessary stationary in the reception area are a mirror of how meticulously the staff works to maintain their office.

6. Lastly ask the dentist if he is associated with any dental insurance company. It becomes quite easy for patients as well as their families. Tips For Better Dental Care

Tips For Better Dental Care

By Jagat Kumar Rakesh

What is the first thing you notice when you talk to someone?

Answer is simple "smile", beautiful smile is something which we all desire. It embarks our personality, gives us confidence and helps in other fields as well, for e.g. job interviews, in get together parties etc.

Though they are very important to us, but the unfortunate part is that nowadays people care less about their teeth and more about their comfort and this is the reason why today, majority of the people around the globe are suffering from various dental problems.

According to the reports of World Health Organisation (WHO), almost 95% of the children and 100% of the adults are facing some form of dental diseases.

Such is a scenario that one cannot find a single house, where at least one member of a family is not suffering from any oral diseases. Above all, tooth ache and cavities are no longer considered as a problem.

This situation is really alarming and the large part of this should be blamed to us. Yes this is true, as mentioned earlier; our bad habits always get better of us. So to have a better oral health, one must follow some basic dental care tips.

Before going through these recommendations, we want to make it clear that these tips are not something that we haven't heard before; these are some basic rules that we all are supposed to follow. So let's start:

1) Brush your teeth daily: Since from our childhood, the most basic thing we have been taught is brushing our teeth twice daily. It is basically the first thing we all should do in the morning.

But how many of us follow that?

Answer is quite simple, "Very few".

It is a matter of utter shame that we cannot follow this simple rule, just because we are too lazy to this. And in a long run, this laziness costs us dearly. Earlier this problem was mostly contained to children only but now it has spread to everyone irrespective of the age group. So we are repeating again, perhaps for the Nth time, brush your teeth daily.

2) Picking up the right toothbrush: When we talk about brushing daily, we tend to forget the most integral part "toothbrush". There's a common perception that toothbrush should be used until it get bruised and all its bristles fall off which is completely wrong. Always change your brush in every 3 months. Make sure that you choose a toothbrush whose head and bristles can reach inside the cervices of your molars.

3) Avoid being dry mouth: A dry mouth causes many diseases. For the protection of tooth decay, saliva must past through your mouth regularly, one it stopped, you are all set to face number of dental diseases. The best way to maintain the saliva inside your mouth is to drink plenty of water. You may also consider having medicines, but that don't always work actually.

4) Avoid junk foods and harmful products: Our oral health largely depends upon what we eat. A normal human being tends to go after various junk foods and that's where the problems arise. Having excess amount of these food items take heavy toll on our teeth that result in tooth ache, pale and yellow teeth and even cavities. Always try to prefer only the home made foods and brush/floss properly after having that.

5) Visit your dentist: Out of all the tips, this may be the most difficult one for those who just hate visiting dentist. You may don't like your dentist, but trust us, visiting them at a regular interval is the wisest thing you could do. You dentist knows everything about your teeth, in routine check-ups, he examine them properly and may suggest you some medicines properly. In short, we can say that for healthy and bright teeth, you must visit your dentist.

The above mentioned tips are known to all of us; it is just that we follow them. After all, our teeth are like our life line; treat them properly to have a happy life.

Hair Transplant: What to Know

Hair Transplant: What to Know

By Achal Mehrotra

Are you planning on getting your hair transplanted? If you answered yes, then this guide is written just for you. In this guide we have put light on some main questions that need crystal clear answers so you understand exactly what you are to expect from this transplant.

Hair Transplant Explanation

This surgery is a minimum outpatient invasive process that allows the patient to regain lost hair from new follicles transplanted in your head. This treatment involves a procedure where hair follicles from one side of your head (or other part of your body) known as donor site are removed and transplanted to the bald or recipient site.

Who Can Opt for a Hair Transplant

Any male or female who is experiencing baldness, traction alopecia, receding hairline, head trauma or male-pattern baldness can opt for this surgery and get permanent hair back once again. Men who are suffering from male pattern baldness, men or women who lost their hair due to fire accidents. Men are aware that medications and drugs will not help them in restoring their hair back.

Hair Transplant Procedures

Transplantation of hair is done in two ways. One is Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE and the other is Follicular Unit Transplantation or FUT. Below is a brief:

Follicular Unit Extraction: FUE or Follicular Unit Extraction is the more popular transplant procedure of the two surgeries. The reason behind this is, it's less invasive and the down-time is almost minimal. In FUE, the surgeon manually harvests each individual hair follicles from the donor area to the needed area. This process is also known as grafting. If done properly, a natural and uniform look is achieved.

Follicular Unit Transplantation: FUT or Follicular Unit Transplantation is the process of the surgeon removing a strip of skin with hair follicles attached from the donor area to the recipient area. The skin is divided into small pieces of grafts and one by one implanted into the recipient area.

Graft Explanation

A graft is the removal of a strip of skin from donor area that is surgically removed without touching the blood supply. Once implanted into the recipient area, the skin develops a new blood supply.

Hair Transplant Duration

Though this is verified as per the procedure, nevertheless, it takes around 4 to 8 hours for the surgery.

Expected Results

Right after the second or third week, the transplanted hair tends to fall out. This stage is known as 'shock loss' and completely normal. At times, patients experience hair fall from areas that were not touched during the surgery.

By the 6th or 8th week, approximately 85% to 95% hair will have grown with the hair thickening after every cycle of growth. The growth cycle is about every 6 weeks, depending on the patients health condition. By the 6th month the result can be seen and by the 12th month the full final result of your treatment can be seen. By this time you will be having a crowning glory to show off.

Risk of Transplant Treatment

Though hair transplantation is the most less invasive and the most lowest medical procedure involving any risks, still like any other surgery there are some risks associated with a hair transplant like scaring, reddening of skin or not the expected result. There are chances of losing transplanted hair known as "shock loss", which is common in recovering patients.

Where Else Can this treatment be used

Apart from the head, you can get it done on the eyebrows, eyelashes, abdomen, beard, chest and pubic area as well. Some also get use this process of surgery to cover their scars.

Your Body's Natural Way To Detox And Repair

Your Body's Natural Way To Detox And Repair

By Ray Ayuso

Autophagy is the natural process by which our body removes out cellular junk to let new cell growth. It makes total sense that our body needs an internal clean up to detox and repair it self. Autophagy destroys parts of the cell, proteins and cell membranes which are not functioning properly.

How Autophagy Works

It is a biological process, where the key players are tiny cells called lysosomes, which contain enzymes needed to digest and breakdown parts of the cell that no longer function properly.

That said, there is a dangerous side because lysosomes are very effective and a prolonged state of autophagy can lead to cell death, a process called autolysis. So a certain amount of autophagy is good, but too much can be damaging for our health.

Why this Cellular Junk Removal Process is so necessary

Our body needs to regularly clean out any junk that is lying around in our cells, or else our cells become less efficient and deteriorate. When our cells are not working properly, our body becomes more sensible to degeneration.

Autophagy makes our bodies more efficient, stops cancerous growth and metabolic dysfunction like diabetes and obesity.

How autophagy affects our cells

With it we keep our cells healthy. Our cells need cleaning from ineffective parts to avoid an imbalance between free radical damage and the antioxidants needed to prevent it. Without it, our body will experience inflammation caused by an oxidative stress.

It is also necessary to keep muscle strength as you age. By removing cellular junk your muscle stem cells continue to repair your tissues. This is the main reason detox is so important for older athletes.

How can you activate it

Intermitent fasting: autophagy is activated when we put our body under mild stress.

Exercise: With exercise we activate detox of our body and cellular renewal. When you exercise your body experiences mild stress, which promotes growth and activates the process.

Ketosis: A low carbohydrate diet induces Ketosis, a state when our liver produces ketones which become the primary fuel for our body. This process activated autophagy which sends the signal to our body to start cleaning our cells.

Our health depends on our healthy cells, that is why our body uses autophagy to revitalize our cells. You can also take supplements to support your body at the cellular level and improve its function.

You may have heard about various detox natural treatments that people use to clean up their body and lose weight, it does work but you need to take the right supplements that activate autophagy.

Type 2 Diabetes and Healthy Living - Creating A Weekly Routine

Type 2 Diabetes and Healthy Living - Creating A Weekly Routine

By Beverleigh H Piepers

Do you have a routine to take care of your health? This should be an easy question to answer, as either you do or you don't. Are you trying to implement a routine? Many think it is easier said than done but realistically, it's not that hard, especially when you choose to think rationally about it.

In other words, missing one day of working out when you should have gone to the gym does not mean you have failed. And a routine is not something you do temporarily, as is often the case with weight loss. A 3-month plan can be useful, but it is not ideal. What is perfect are long-term changes - particularly those without a timeline. The best way to make these changes is by creating and adopting a weekly routine.

How should you get started? First, you need to consider what is most important to you. Consider the current standing of your health...

are you overweight?

have you been diagnosed as having Type 2 diabetes, or is your blood sugar well above a normal range?

how are your triglyceride and cholesterol levels?

do you have hypertension?

These are a few conditions you need to take into account. You will have to see your doctor and have blood tests to get all the answers. You need to visit your doctor at the very least once a year, twice, or more if there are problems with your health. Next, you need to determine what you would like to improve. It is easy to get started if you are overweight or have Type 2 diabetes, as the goals will be apparent. It can be a little bit more complicated otherwise, but it is still likely nutrition and exercise will be critical areas requiring your attention.

Regarding exercise, find a routine you can quickly implement and don't have to think twice about. For many people, it is as comfortable as waking up 1 to 1.5 hours earlier than usual to make it to the gym. Get your workout done early in your day, so you do not dread working out later in the evening or getting sidetracked. In the beginning, you could workout on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This ensures you will have more rest days than active days in the week. You should have no excuse not to stick with it then.

For healthy eating, you can start by cooking your meals. If you feel the need to save time, prepare large portions that last you the whole week. Make sure you are not eating processed meals or fast foods on your weekdays. If eating out is part of your social life you cannot avoid, leave it for the weekend.

What is crucial in creating a weekly routine is getting started with changes you can sustain. Cooking and exercising is not only beneficial but necessary and are the foundations of a healthy habit. As for when you should get started? You already know the answer.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

Off Of Drugs With A New Lease On Life

Off Of Drugs With A New Lease On Life

By James J Elleyby

Finally, you came up off that nasty drug habit. Most likely, you came to that realization that one of you is gonna have to die. One of you must be laid to rest. You, or the habit. Because you both can't stay here together any longer. You can't continue on the drug, because it's abusing your life. But, when you abuse drugs, then drugs will abuse you right back. That's just how the cookie crumbles, bumble bee.

Now, you need a new game plan for life. You can't go back to the old way of doing things. You may not even be able to go back to good old friends you once had. Even the ties with some good family members may have been broken. Maybe you even lost the loving support of your spouse or your partner in life.

You gotta go through the motions of putting the pieces of your life back together again! That ain't no joke. It's gonna take some real work, and some real effort too.

Stay focused, though. The most important thing that you need to do now is to give your life a new purpose. After you have identified a purpose for your life, you need to then make a commitment to that purpose. You need to adopt a new meaning for your life.

If you fail to accept a new purpose for your life, or if you fail to make a strong commitment to that purpose for your life, then you stand a high chance of returning to the drug. Because, the only purpose of a drug abuser is to simply use drugs. But, now that you're off drugs, you must find a new purpose for your life. This new purpose is what will give your life new meaning, and it will provide a direction for you to walk life in.

It can be very challenging to obtain gainful employment for a person who just comes off drugs. Most likely, their mind is still a little fuzzy, and their skills are probably a little week. Interacting with people can be a real doozy to deal with too. So, all of this can make moving forward rough. But, it's not impossible. A committed person can totally do it. Make a commitment to live, and you will live.

It's important to keep yourself busy. You must keep your mind occupied, and you must be engaged in doing something. Don't be idle. Don't try to sit around and do nothing. Because, if you get bored, you can easily slip back to the drug. You can easily begin to entertain harmful thoughts, as your body continues to further detoxify itself and as your brain's functioning returns to normality.

Consider volunteering somewhere. Give your time and your services freely to a good cause. You can volunteer at a church, at a hospital, at an elderly home. You can offer to work freely at a charity organization too.

If you can't find a place that will accept your charity or accept you as a volunteer, then volunteer your own self. Get a few trash bags, and walk around your neighborhood cleaning up. Sweep the driveways and the streets in your areas. Be committed. This mobile action may be good for you too, because it will allow your mind to burn off toxic materials that much faster and that much more efficiently.

You must develop a loving relationship with yourself. You must always talk to your own self in a positive way. Always say good things to yourself. Always remind yourself that things are going to be okay. Always remind yourself that you are strong, and you are making it. Always remind yourself that better is on the way!

Type 2 Diabetes - Searching For The Cause of Gestational Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes - Searching For The Cause of Gestational Diabetes

By Beverleigh H Piepers

Scientists at St. Joseph's Healthcare in Ontario Canada have reported on what could be the causes and potential prevention of Gestational diabetes or diabetes of pregnancy. In January of 2018, their work was published in the journal Placenta.

The placenta feeds the fetus and partly takes over control of the mother's blood sugar level. The mother develops slight insulin resistance, and this then causes her blood sugar level to rise to enable the fetus to get sufficient levels of sugar. In Gestational diabetes too much insulin resistance develops, raising blood sugar levels to a high and unhealthy level. The placenta makes two hormones...

placental lactogen (PL), and

placental variant growth hormone (GH-V),

for blood sugar control. GH-V makes muscles resistant to insulin while PL is anti-insulin. In obese and diabetic mothers the placenta produces the wrong amounts of both of these hormones. The mother's pancreas produces more beta cells to make insulin and counterbalance PL and GH-V. We do not know yet what makes more beta cells grow. It could be...

pancreatic cells capable of becoming beta cells are stimulated to develop, or

alpha cells in the pancreas might become beta cells.

If either mechanism can be activated, it could be used to prevent or treat Gestational diabetes. These potential treatments are far into the future, assuming they are feasible. In the meantime, women need to achieve and maintain a reasonable lean weight before pregnancy and gain only the amount recommended by their doctor or midwife. Physical activity is helpful as long as mothers do not...

bend forward,

perform exercises that require balance,

play contact sports,

take part in hopping, skipping, jumping, or running,

make sudden jarring movements,

make twisting movements especially of the abdominal area, or

exercise in hot, humid weather.

When the pregnant mother becomes out of breath, her baby is also out of breath, so then it is time for a break. Ask your doctor for assistance when planning a physical activity program. Mothers with high-risk pregnancies should not exercise.

A healthy eating plan with plenty of fruits and vegetables helps provide the required nutrients, as well as helping to control weight gain. Pregnant women are susceptible to constipation due to hormonal changes: internal muscles in the digestive system become lax, moving their contents slowly. The fiber in vegetables and fruits helps to move things along.

WebMD recommends the following exercises for pregnant women...

swimming,

walking,

indoor stationary cycling,

using an indoor stepper machine, or

doing low impact aerobics taught by a certified instructor.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

Type 2 Diabetes - Fight Diabetes With Physical Activity

Dining Etiquettes in a Restaurant

Dining Etiquettes in a Restaurant

By Kaushikee Sanyal

Dining out with friends, family or colleagues is a joyous moment, a time for celebration. Well, whether it's a social gathering or a business call your dining etiquettes are always under surveillance--- beware of any faux pas.

Now don't get intimidated, you simply need to master the basic nuances of dining and get appreciated by one and all. Before you are ready to savor the perfect flavor, aroma and the magical spell of the dishes, get your protocols straight. The article will help broaden your perspectives on the dining etiquettes in a restaurant, ensuring a delightful experience for both---the hosts and the guests.

Bookings and Arrival

The world is now plagued by electronic gadgets; be smart, make the effort to fetch your expensive Smartphone and book a reservation. Hustling for a seat at the restaurant isn't a gracious act. Get the specifics right---date, time, no, of guests and seat preference.

Hey! Are you super chilled out, engrossed attiring or perfectly drawing your eye-liner because the reservation is done? Not a noble conduct. If it's a 19 hrs booking make sure your watch ticks leastwise 18:45 hours (not to mention a perfectly timed watch) when you are at the eatery's threshold with your guests. 'Punctuality is the politeness of kings'---adapt it.

Food Ordering

Talk to the person in charge and make yourself comfortable at your table. Don't get started with your chitter-chatter already. Time to run down the carte du jour (menu) and avoid dispelling the recurring waiters awaiting your orders. Peruse through the menu list (request at least 2 menu cards if members are more), ask others their preferences, suggestions and quickly order.

Is the endless number of dishes perplexing you? Well take your time, if needed inquire but don't bother your courteous waiter with constant persistence to alter the order. Might leave him perplexed instead! If you can't decipher a particular fancy dish ask the waiter, don't yell later.

Now, you may prattle but in a mellowed tone. Your jesting anecdotes, gleeful laughter and thumping might be totally unnecessary for others. So keep your tone low; maintain your etiquettes.

While you Eat

The hot delicious food is served. Pass them to all, take turns to help yourselves or ask the waiter, wait for others to start and arrange your napkins, needed cutleries and drinks--- oh! are the exotic aromas challenging your patience, well hold on to your adrenaline rush. Now, you are ready to eat---wait I said eat and not gorge, eat decently picking one item at a time. Use your knives, forks, spoons decorously without playing with them. Look if others require something, you are permitted to converse but first swallow your food. If having drinks clink your glasses don't bang them please.

Enjoying your time at the restaurant, the elegant dcor, magnificent interior, the spotless white linen on the dining table and the clean sparkling flooring? Please don't stain them. Littering the table with waste food is against dining protocols. Request for an extra plate for your throwaways.

While you Leave

So you are leaving? Bye adios --- but have you cleaned your table? Yes, you should. The table might be messy with your leftovers or discarded food. You just generously tipped the waiter for his service, let him thank you rather feel disgusted. Use your napkins to at least clean the waste so much so that the next group of table occupants doesn't grumble about your distasteful dining etiquettes.

This is your crisp list for a visit to the restaurant. There can be multiple additions to these which may vary depending on your purpose of visit. Remember to depict your benignant nature and decorum that speaks high of you. Enjoy eating!
