A total of six teams have the opportunity to qualify for the round of 16 of the Champions League which takes place on Tuesday (25/10) local time or Tuesday and Wednesday (26/10) early morning WIB.
So far only five teams have secured tickets to the knockout phase of the Champions League. The five teams are Real Madrid, Manchester City, Napoli, Club Brugge, and Bayern Munich.
The success trail of those five teams is likely to be followed by four other teams participating in the Champions League on Tuesday local time.
In Group E, one of Chelsea and FC Salzburg has a chance to secure the first ticket to qualify for the round of 16. Salzburg will host Chelsea on Tuesday night WIB.
Chelsea, who top the Group E standings, are certain to qualify if they win or draw at home to Salzburg and AC Milan win over Dinamo Zagreb.
Meanwhile, Salzburg will officially step into the knockout phase if they are able to beat Chelsea and AC Milan fail to win.
One other ticket also has the opportunity to be secured by two German teams, RB Leipzig in Group F and Borussia Dortmund who inhabit Group G.
Leipzig will accompany Madrid if they win when they host Los Merengues and at the same time Shakhtar Donetsk will be defeated at Celtic FC headquarters. That way Leipzig will collect nine points and will no longer be able to chase Shakhtar with one matchday left.
The lighter conditions are owned by Dortmund. Die Borussen earned enough draws to qualify and another match between Sevilla vs FC Copenhagen also ended without a winner.
While in Group G, Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica can guarantee tickets to qualify for the Champions League round of 16 on this matchday.
PSG qualified if they won or drew when hosting Maccabi Haifa and Juventus failed to win over Benfica. On the other hand Benfica can also qualify if they win or draw against Juventus and Maccabi Haifa at Les Parisiens headquarters.
