By Madan G Singh When the United States election campaign commenced Donald Trump was not expected to win. Everybody including the political pundits had forecast that the winner would be Hillary Clinton. However, it did not happen that way and the Dark Horse Donald Trump stormed and won the election. He did not have the popular vote when he became president but that is because of the convoluted system of votes in America. Political stalwarts made forecasts that Donald Trump would be impeached. Business :Legal Intake: The Key to Increasing Conversion Rates

By Mike BrooksIf you are a regular reader of my blog, then you know I work in a variety of industries and with many different companies in those industries. At first, when new companies are going to engage with me, some will ask what kind of experience I have in their specific vertical. My answer is always the same: sales skills and best practice selling techniques are transferrable. Core inside sales skills and strategies work in all industries (that is why they are foundational) and can be adapted to work effectively in other industry. And this is especially true in the legal field. For over a year now, I've been training some of the largest and most successful legal firms in the country and helping their intake teams dramatically increase their conversion percentage of inbound leads. The clients I have worked with have seen as much as a 30% increase and more in conversion percentages using the proven inside sales skills and techniques I've perfected over the last 30 years.…

News :A Child Can't Be Religious

By Oliver JR Cooper As a boy I went to a Church of England school and this meant that there were occasions when I would have to go to church. Additionally, my father was a Christian and he was part of the church choir as a boy. However, I wasn't forced to read the bible and to go to church every Sunday. This was not something that appealed to me and, as the years passed, I often wondered why anyone would feel the need to belong to particular religion.Critical ThinkingI wanted to come to my own conclusions and decide how I would behave; not simply believe what other people had told me and allow these beliefs to define my behaviour. If I was going to join a religion, it would be religion that I had created. But I thought that this would be limiting and I wouldn't want anyone else to simply follow what I had come up with. Doing so would stop them from thinking for themselves, causing them to act as though they were just an extension of me.A Common ExperienceWhen I went shopping ar…

SelfImprovement :3 HUGE Take Aways From My Meeting With John Assaraf (The Secret)

By Chris Atley Right now I am high in the sky on my way to Maui and I am just so excited! My husband and I are here for a week and I am stoked to spend some time together just us (eek) in such a beautiful place!Earlier this week I had a couple of really spectacular things happen. The first was being interviewed on Baeth Davis' podcast. Baeth is an amazing coach and business woman, with building a wildly successful business in hand analysis! I have been following her for years, and I actually met her when I first started my business 11 years ago. I am now happy to call her a friend, fellow soul sister, and it was an absolute pleasure being interviewed on her show We chatted A LOT about coaches shaming other coaches in our industry - I'll let you know when it's live so you can check it out.The second, was slightly mind-blowing and was a true dream come true! My personal development journey started by watching The Secret in Canada, and 11 years later I had a meeting with Joh…

By Amanda J Hales When you hear the abbreviation MD you probably instantly think of muscular dystrophy, the disorder that affects millions and even has its own telethon. It is characterized by kids in leg braces with some in wheelchairs. Another MD however is myotonic dystrophy, which is an offshoot of the main version and the most common form that begins in adulthood. It too is a long term genetic disorder that is characterized by loss of muscle function with gradually worsening symptoms like muscle loss and weakness as the disease continues on its path. While currently there is no cure, doctors can treat the symptoms of the disease, things like cataracts, intellectual disabilities, and various different heart conditions that can accompany the disorder.Myotonic Dystrophy is also characterized by the fact that the muscles contract and then are unable to relax, a state of myotenia which comes from the Greek for muscle 'myo' and the Latin for tension 'tonus'. Myotenia i…
