John 1:5
As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have received a message from Him for you. Allow me to say that He gave His words to the apostles and many others. He revealed to the apostles the character of the Father. He disclosed truth concerning our redemption. He speaks to us through the sacred Scripture. It is our duty to herald Christ to you. I am not here to preach theories to you, but the truth of God's word - No ecclesiastical and theological-isms. John declared "... that God is Light, and in him is no darkness at all." (v.5)
Light is God's apparel, "Thou coverest thyself with light as with a garment." Light abides with him. "The light dwelleth with him." God abides in it, "... dwelling in light unapproachable." He has called you and I to walk in that light. "Who hath called you out of darkness into the marvelous Light." (I Peter 2:9)
God is the only Omniscient one. No intellectual ignorance can darken his all-embracing examination of actual and possible fact. Unto God all hearts are open, all desires known, and from him no secrets are hid. David said "Thou knowest my down-sitting and mine uprising. "... Thou hast searched me and known me."
(Psa.139) God knows the number of the stars, He knows the secrets of your heart, He knows all things, He knows all your works, every sparrow is known unto Him. God knows you always and thoroughly. Let us endeavor to personally realize these great and sober truths.
God is the power that enlightens us. He created the light of the material universe. "Let there be light." He is the Fountain of all intellectual and moral light. We all receive our talents and gifts from the Lord, be it the scientist, physician, poet, artist or the preacher. It is the Lord who communicates religious truth to you. John 1: 9 says, "Light every man"
God is life giving and there is no life out side of him. Physical Light appears to be the producing, forming, quickening principle of all organization, in its essence, self-communicative, and stimulating principle of all physical organic functions of life. God created the universe and sustains it. The forces of nature are the power and beautiful might of God. Evolution is just the mode of Divine operation. We must never forget that the life and strength of our souls, He inspires and renews. Col.2:13 declares, "You being dead in your sins hath he quickened."
The true Christian is born of the Spirit, (John 3: 8). Isa. 29 informs us, "He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength." It is our Lord who imparts and renews our strength.
There is a message for you. To those of you who are careless, thoughtless, and unconcerned about your soul, you have not known God as the Father, Christ as a Saviour, or the Holy Ghost as the baptizer. I have a message from God to you. "Awake, thou that sleepiest, arise from the dead." To all who are living in known sin, I have a message to you from God. Repent of your sins. If there is a person here who is sorry and ashamed to have lived so long without God, I have a message to you from God. "Be of good cheer." They that seek shall find him. Is there is one reading this message today that has fallen away and gone backward, I have a message to you from God. "Return unto Me, and I will return unto you saith the Lord of host" (Mal.3:7).
