Three Ways To Improve Your Day Immediately

By Carlo St Juste, L. Ac

Stress in our daily routines can affect us all. It comes in many forms and it would be foolish to say that everyone experiences the same level of stress at the same time because we do not. However, from over 10 years of practicing stress reducing methods and exercises, I have found techniques I have used myself everyday to help make my day smooth or to help turn the tables when things are not going well.

Set Goals

Setting goals can be satisfying and help you to gain clarity and focus. I've been in situations where I've financially hit a brick wall. But you know what? I learned that you can do things even when funds are low. Injury, Illness, family hardship can take a toll, but if you can set goals, write them down and just focus on one task at a time, then it will help you gain focus and better outlook towards the future. Goals should get you excited.

10 Minute Breathing Sessions

Many things can happen in ten minutes. You can go to the grocery store, you can take a walk around the block, or make a phone call or two. Much can be done with this, so take time out to regain clarity. Take twenty minutes if you need, even an hour. Stretch, breath, walk, meditate.

Why do I recommend breathing exercises? Because it can help reset the mind and body and put you in a more balanced state.

Treat Yourself

Don't feel guilty treating yourself. You have to take care of number one before you can take care of two, three, and number fifty! Don't convince yourself that self care is selfish, because not giving your best is worse. You've workout all week, have a reward meal. Go see that movie, two hours away from the problem you've been hacking away to solve will help you move closer to a solution. Just getting a massage can make you feel great and put you in the right mindset. It has worked for me, and I remember the two voices in my head. One voice that was complaining and dragging me down, and another voice after treating myself that told me I should have done this sooner.

As you have read there are a combinations of strategies we can use to help us power through our day. Good days lead to good weeks which lead to good months and powerful years.

Remember to consult your mental healthcare professional if you feel like you're experiencing signs of depression or other mental conditions.

6 Healthy Foods to Eat for People With Kidney Disease

By Leo Eigenberg

Eating a diet rich in fruit and vegetables is certain to benefit people suffering with kidney disease. They can experience a variety of problems from eating a poor diet, such as cardiovascular disease and increased inflammation. Let's take a look at six healthy foods that can form part of a kidney-friendly diet:

Red bell peppers

Red bell peppers are easily added to the diet as part of a chicken or tuna salad, an appetizer or a snack. This vegetable is high in flavor, low in potassium, and a great source of fiber, folic acid, vitamin A and vitamin C. A major reason the peppers benefit is the high lycopene content which is a type of antioxidant.

Cabbage

Cabbage is one of the many cruciferous vegetables and rich in the chemical compound phytochemicals which is known to help fight-off free radical damage. This vegetable is a great choice because of the low potassium content and high fiber, vitamin C and vitamin K content. Cabbage is very versatile with plenty of options to add to a meal. Also, it can be prepared by boiling, steaming or using the microwave.

Garlic

Garlic is beneficial for the health in many different ways, such as reducing inflammation, lowering cholesterol and preventing the build up of plaque on the teeth. It is very easy to add to a pasta, vegetable or meal dish, and comes in powdered, minced, bottled form, as well as fresh cloves. Also, it is a useful option to flavor dishes for those patients who have been recommended a low-sodium diet.

Cauliflower

The cauliflower is a further type of cruciferous vegetable that is a reliable source of fiber, folate and vitamin C. Plus, it is high in compounds like thiocyanates, glucosinolates and indoles which help the liver in the process of neutralizing toxic substances in the body. Cauliflower is highly versatile and easy to use in plenty of dishes. It can even be used as a satisfactory alternative for mashed potatoes for those on a kidney-friendly diet.

Apples

Apples are very beneficial health wise and high in anti-inflammatory compounds and fiber. This fruit is known to help lower the risk of heart disease, prevent constipation and reduce cholesterol. It is a versatile fruit that gives the option to make a sauce, blend into fresh juice, stew, bake, or simply eat raw.

Blueberries

A regular serving of blueberries can introduce a good amount of fiber, antioxidants, manganese and vitamin C to the body. Also, they are rich in natural compounds that can help to control issues with inflammation.

Healthy Eating - Is Corn Healthy For You Or Not?

By Beverleigh H Piepers

As a person who has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, you make it your business to be careful about the carbohydrates you consume. Also, you are very careful about the different types of sugar you include in your diet plan. So when one particular food is high in carbs and sugar, that may make you sit up and wonder if it is a safe food to include in your diet.

This is just the case with corn. Corn, while classified as a vegetable, is higher in carbs than most vegetables and due to its sweet taste, also comes packed with quite a bit of natural sugars.

Is it a food fit for your menu? Let us look at a few things to consider...

1. The Calorie Content. Despite the fact corn is higher in calories than most vegetables, it still is not exceptionally high in calories per half-cup serving. So compared to say brown rice, it is still lower in total calories. Any lower calorie food can help with weight control.

2. Fiber Content. Next, consider the fiber content. For each one cup serving, you will take in 4.4 grams of dietary fiber, which does help control some of the sugar found in the corn. This makes it better than other high sugar foods, which do not contain any fiber at all.

3. Nutritional Profile. Corn also provides a few micronutrients as well. From each serving of corn, you will take in small amounts of...

pantothenic acid,

phosphorus,

vitamin B3,

manganese, as well as

vitamin B6.

While it is not the most nutrient dense vegetable on the planet, you could do worse.

4. Antioxidant Benefits. Where corn shines is in the antioxidant benefits it provides. You will get an excellent array of different antioxidants, which help to combat free radical damage and disease.

The variety of antioxidants may help you avoid unwanted conditions such as heart disease and arthritis.

5. Craving Control. Finally, because it is a way to satisfy your craving for something sweet, eating corn may help prevent you from eating other foods that are much worse. Plus, corn gives a crunchy texture as well, which is another craving many people have.

Corn is also the perfect BBQ food in the summer.

Whether you should include corn in your diet plan or not, give it some consideration, but know you should eat it in moderation. That will be your best bet for optimal menu planning.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

For nearly 25 years Beverleigh Piepers has searched for and found a number of secrets to help you build a healthy body. Go to http://DrugFreeType2Diabetes.com to learn about some of those secrets.

The answer isn't in the endless volumes of    available information but in yourself.

The Road to Achieving

By Sammi C

Having achieved and accomplished an aim or objective...

How about?

The achievement of desired visions and goals...

Then There's TED...

Feeling that tingle of excitement about what you do, sticking with what matters through hard times, living a life you can feel proud of in retrospect.

Does this sound familiar to you at all?

Yes, we're talking about "The Road to Achieving Success". Striving towards achieving success in Health, Wealth & Romance is the best path to enjoying "A Better Lifestyle".

According to some, success is simply waking up in the morning with a smile on your face. While to others, it's a measurement of one's degree of happiness with their life (or lifestyle). Yet, some say it consists of four pillars: well-being, wisdom, wonder, and giving.

The list of thoughts and definitions of success is endless. Nevertheless, when it all comes down to it, there is only one way to define your success and that's Your own way: The above definitions are unquestionable proof of that. One's status in life, rich or not so, is virtually irrelevant. Like the saying goes, "One man's rags are another man's riches".

Success need not, and should not, be defined nor limited by a person's ability to obtain the material things he/she desires in life but rather by the degree of happiness achieved in their life through all three aspects of Health, Wealth & Romance/Relationships. It's a choice, one for which You and Only You are responsible. You choose and decide what it takes to make YOU happy - no one else should do that for you.

Unfortunately, we live in an era where happiness alone will not feed you, nor pay your bills. It's easy for those who have already achieved "their" (financial) goals in abundance to promote the idea that achieving financial success does not equate to happiness in life when what they should be offering is an encouragement to those who aspire to improve their lifestyle.

Success by any definition is a journey, one in which it is more likely to encounter difficulties and obstacles, beyond the imagination, than it is to experience gratification. Enough to destroy any hope of achieving even the smallest degree of realizing your dream for A Better LifeStyle. It's not a journey you want to engage in if you're not prepared mentally, physically, and equipped with the proper tools to undertake the challenges that lie ahead. It's not a journey you wish to take if you lack the determination to pursue your dream without regard to failures you are almost certain to experience. It's not a jaunt to embark on if you are not willing to "only" look back to learn from your mistakes and failures... not to have regrets.

The road to success is not for the undecided, the insecure, nor for the weak at heart; for chances are you will face many heartbreaking & lonely moments throughout your journey.

Getting Rid of A Cold Sore - Natural Remedies and Medication

By Louis V Lim

Cold sores are frequently called fever blisters. The majority of cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus or HSV-1.

The WHO reports that approximately 65% of adults aged over 50 are inflicted with HSV-1, and around 50% of American children already have the virus. The virus doesn't constantly show symptoms, and only around 30% of individuals with HSV-1 will show infection signs namely cold sores.

Cold sores often appear on the mouth and lips, but they can show anywhere on the skin, even the tongue.

Home Remedies

Immune-boosting, antiviral, and antimicrobial compounds are usually excellent for treating cold sores. Some remedies help reduce the transmission of the virus while others cut the possibility of more infections or ease discomfort and pain. Not all treatment works for each person, but various natural products could help lessen symptoms and inhibit future recurrences.

Natural remedies include:

• lemon tea and its compresses
• lip balms with no less than 1% lemon
• witch hazel oil, mint, and peppermint
• Aloe vera gel to soothe inflamed lesions while giving moisture.
• licorice powder, combined with petroleum jelly or water and applied to sores
• licorice root, with glycyrrhizic acid
• l-lysine supplements or lysine cream used as an immune booster and help in cell repair
• Echinacea to boost immunity, best consumed in supplement form or tea. Echinacea is available online.
• sage and rhubarb mixtures
• cornstarch paste, made with starch and water, 1:1
• milk, with l-lysine and antibodies

Vitamin E aids the body to repair damaged dermal cells as well as grow them. Food rich in Vitamin E include nuts, leafy greens, and whole wheat. Moreover, oils with Vitamin E are available. Furthermore, Vitamin C can increase white blood cells, which are mainly the infection-fighting cells of the body. Food rich in Vitamin C is frequently deep green, orange, or red in color. And these include tomatoes, peppers, berries, kiwis, spinach, and broccoli.

There are OTC medications available as well to treat symptoms of cold sores. Lots of them provide child-friendly dosages. These include:

• Orajel and Anbesol numb sores, reducing pain
• Zilactin and Abreva, both available online, may aid to cut recovery time
• Inflammation- and pain-reducing medications such as ibuprofen can help as well
• Rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide keep the lesions clean
• Applying zinc oxide creams to scabs could kill viral cells that the sores release

Medication

Individuals with cold sores ought to seek medical attention if the infection does not improve in several weeks. HSV-1 complications are uncommon but highly possible. Individuals with weak immune systems ought to seek expert medical advice whenever recurrences are becoming frequent. Several complications can result when the virus starts to spread to other body parts. For instance, the virus could infect the fingertips (herpes whitlow) or the eyes (herpes keratitis).

Commonly prescribed treatments for cold sores include anti-viral tablets and creams. According to the British National Health Service (NHS), creams are usually only effective if applied when the sores first appear.

For treating cold core symptom, the doctor usually prescribes anti-viral creams and tablets. The British National Health Service states that creams are often only effective if applied as soon as the initial sores appear - which is the first outbreak.

Prescribed medications for cold sores include:

• Valacyclovir (Valtrex)
• Acyclovir (Zovirax, Xerese)
• Penciclovir (Denavir)
• Famciclovir (Famvir)

How High Achievers Harvest Time and Accomplish Their Dreams - Part 1

By Jan Schrader

Have you ever wondered why some people achieve so much more than others?

Our research of high achievers (HAs as we call them), regardless of their chosen field of endeavor, show shared characteristics. Here are 6 of the most important; all of which speak directly to the issue of harvesting time to achieve their dreams.

1. They know what they want.

2. They know why they want it.

3. They have set goals to achieve it.

4. They have a clearly defined plan to get them there.

5. They take action.

6. They commit their time and resources to its accomplishment.

While only a part of the total formula for Time Harvesting these 6 factors are important, contributing elements. In Part 1 we will look at the first element: they know what they want.

Envisioning the outcome.

HAs know exactly what they want. There is no ambiguity about their dream. They are totally focused on the outcome. They can describe it in vivid detail. They're convinced it can and will happen. It's not about "if," it's about "when."

The "what" defines the priorities.

Because the outcome is both crystal clear and expected, there is singleness of purpose. Thus, dedicating time to accomplish the goal becomes top priority understanding that the sooner the plan is executed, the sooner the dream is realized.

Competing priorities.

Unfortunately, like everyone else, HAs don't have the luxury of only dealing with the dream. Life gets in the way and HAs must deal with other issues, as well. But, just like the consistency of the compass needle, after the fires are put out; HAs return to accomplishing the dream.

The lesson.

The lesson is clear. To get the absolute benefit out of every moment of your time you must have a compelling, desired outcome. Otherwise, your time is just dissipated as you wander about aimlessly. Unfortunately, too many people do not have a clearly defined, realistic, defined outcome for their life. That is why they waste so much time and feel unfulfilled.

Remember, if you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there.

Going forward, the compelling question is, "Where will you be, and is that where you really want to be?" What a terrible shame to live an unfulfilling life because you aren't doing what you really want.

The critical issue.

The critical issue is the necessity to define your dream. Take the time to figure that out. You simply must. Then, each day you can devote your time to getting there.

In Part 2, we will look at your "why;" what drives you to accomplish the "what."

Would you, too, as so many other have, like to effectively have a 13th month or more every year to achieve your dreams? Author Jan Schrader shares the secrets of Time Harvesting in the book, The Secret of the Thirteenth Month - Harvesting the Time to Achieve Your Life's Dreams. Top 5 Web Analytics Tools To Improve Business Performance

By Anabik Chakraborty

Every business generates data and records them as part of its operational requirement. The data, particularly related to websites of companies, can come in many forms such as the number of users visiting your site and their locations or better, the number of them purchasing products from your site among others.

If left unattended the data can be treated as plain gibberish occupying precious server space whereas if analysed with proper tools and acted upon, can be transformational to the business. The methodology of web data analytics includes measuring the user traffic, predicting performance, gauging customer satisfaction levels and other attributes of business by using statistics and computer programming.

Why web data analytics is important

To find out current level of performance of your website and areas of improvement
To extract actionable information to improve marketing strategies, boost performance and improve decision making
To know the profile of users and understand their browsing & buying patterns
To predict changing user behaviour, market dynamics, and their impact on business
As the challenges before businesses become more complex and patterns of data more unwieldy, the use of analytics tools has become important more than ever before. Thus, to leverage the functionality of the available tools or services to the benefit of your business, engaging professional online advertising services with the right expertise can be a thoughtful strategy. Let's discuss the top five web analytics tools that are widely used in most companies of today, and the ones you can readily use to help transform your business.

Google Analytics: Arguably the most popular among all the existing web analytics tools, this comes free with the following attributes. However, a subscription based version called Google Analytics 360 is available as well for enterprise users.

Tracks and collates the source of web data spread across channels, devices, and locations
Tracks the user activity on a website on the basis of performance related metrics such as total number of visits, transactions, revenue etc
Analyses user activity on the site including areas (pages) from where users seem to have bounced off
Provides detailed reports that can help to improve digital marketing strategies like social media campaigns, besides aiming at better targeting of search engine rankings, and conversions
An important aspect of Google Analytics related to online advertising is called Google AdWords, which offers bespoke services such as Pay Per Click (PPC) and Cost Per Acquisition (CPA). Known to be the highest revenue earner for Google, this paid marketing service is used by advertisers and web marketers to display product listings, advertising copies, and video content high on Google SERPs.

However, the only area where Google Analytics lags is in providing the description of real time data in its entirety, which it does to some extent but with a few data points only.

Kissmetrics: Unlike Google Analytics, Kissmetrics provides comprehensive web related data about user activity on a real time basis. It shows individual user activity over a period of time spanning across devices, locations and time. It gives an insight into individuals or specific user groups, and is specially useful for mobile apps and ecommerce sites. And yes, it doesn't come free with charges starting from $200 per month.

Clicky: The tool provides comprehensive real time data on individual user activity, search rankings, and video analytics. Interestingly, it provides a heatmap traction of users in real time through an online widget. The best part is that it is free up to 3000 daily page views but charges $19.99 per month beyond that.

The tool alerts you as well when your site goes offline. It does so by keeping a tab on your site from five different locations worldwide. Thus, it helps companies to work towards real time optimization of business data to arrive at better outcomes.

Woopra: This real time analytics tool has a unique live chat feature that allows site owners or web marketers to chat with users visiting the site. This feature can give important insights about a site from a user's perspective and helps to improve shortcomings (if any).

Also, by using the tool's AppConnect feature you can connect with other platforms like Salesforce, WordPress, HubSpot, MailChimp etc. It is available in both free (up to 30,000 actions per month) and paid versions (up to $1,199.95 per month and higher with advanced enterprise level features.)

FoxMetrics: Available at $299 per month, the site provides actionable information to web owners relating to users' browsing behaviour over a period of time including making sales. By using the tool you can even follow up with customers who have abandoned shopping carts through targeted emails and offers. The tool allows you to create user surveys and feedback forms apart from directing the users to pages that suit them better.

Conclusion

Web analytics tools can provide important insights into user traffic, various facets related to it, and its changing dynamics. However, such information won't be of any use unless suitable action is taken towards improving the user experience and thereby possible conversions. In the article, top 5 web analytics tools have been discussed in terms of their usage in digital marketing. Readers are invited to give their comments on the same.

The article is written by Anabik Chakraborty, a knowledgeable   digital marketer with a wide industry experience. In this article, he has explained in detail the top 5 web analytics tools that enrich the digital marketing process.

The Cost of Discipleship Prayer

By Steve Wickham

Dear Covenant Lord

Gracious alone, You are my Rock, from the foundation of the earth through the foundation of life to the foundation of my life. You are my life.

Yet in following You, Lord Jesus, to the seriousness of Your Word, I am convicted of heart about how much it will cost. Will I have the wherewithal to build my allegiance? God alone, You know.

You know I will need a strong and big and pliable heart, a disciplined mind, a fervent soul. And yet Your grace reminds me that the work of Your cross is done, that there is no more to do. For such a fact I owe You my life. Still, You raise me as You, Yourself, are risen.

What else will I need, Lord? What else will be required as I prepare to make my way to You? Teach me again as I ponder what it has cost thus far.

Surely, I'll need godly support; people who will keep me to short account and encourage me, who will speak truth with me. Surely I'll need virtue in abundance, especially humility, as pride so often wrests my journey with You away from me.

I will need to focus on being with You at all times. I've so often learned how hard it is to be a 'professional' Christian. That it can be a free form of discipleship that refuses to believe, let alone pay for, the costliness of such an endeavour. I know, because I have partaken. Lord, help me simply follow You. To simply follow You is harder than being a 9-5, half-day-Sunday Christian. Help me transcend the difficulties of the minister I know too well of.

Jesus, help me not be a half-finished tower, a relic of the promise of means without end. Help me measure what I promise You now so as to overestimate the cost, which must be too fanciful a prayer, and too ludicrous, to pray. Help me when I'm so immature as to get the wrecking ball out to destroy what You have already built.

Help me, in fear and in trembling, come before You now, knowing I will come up short. Prepare my heart even in that sense so I know then what to give up and when and how to do it. Not now, as that is too much to ask, but then.

Give me grace to do what I cannot do in my own strength, but only in Yours.

And forgive me for the way I now still so frequently underestimate the cost.

In my Saviour's name I pray, AMEN.

This prayer is devoted to Luke 14:28: Jesus said, likening the call to follow Him to that of building a tower... "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?"

Echoes Past of Deep Calling to Deep

By Steve Wickham

Against the flow of growth, away from the pain of present, and into the pain of past I went. A pain where deep strived to again meet Deep; where deep called to Deep, and Deep answered.

I had to stop from where I was lost, to go back to a time where I'd been truly found; a time where there was nothing if not depth. This kind of season there was nothing else but depth. There was no time nor vision for superficiality. A time like this, fifteen years ago, is what God was calling me back to.

Of course, I resisted. I didn't want to plunge into my pain. I would've preferred a different, easier way. But there was no such alternative. God gave me up to my sins in order that my sins would drive me back into Him. It is God's way to reconcile us to Himself.

God has shown me a purpose to pain - that He is in the centre of that kind of storm. The Lord showed me my greatest connection of intimacy with Him, ever, was amid my darkest hour.

He showed me afresh that it was then, when I had nothing else in the world, where He was IT, and was all I had left, that He was my all - even as my depth cried out and heard the answer of Depth cry back.

It is only when we're at our depths that we can hear the cry of God's Spirit at depth - 'I love you and I am here with you and will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid.'

Only as I cried out in a lonely pitch-dark shrill, as if feeling I'd been abandoned by God, did I hear God cry back deep in my spirit. That cry of deep crying out to Deep and hearing Deep cry back has never left me.

Isn't it ironic that Deep cries back to us only when we fall to the depth of Deep?

Emerging Technology Is Changing How You Can Do Business

By Wayne Elsey

I love technology, and we're fortunate to be living at a time when most of us are experiencing the great evolution of technology. For instance, we have cars that are out on our streets driving themselves. We have incredible advances in medicine and have eradicated diseases. And, as the U.S. shifts from government to public and private partnerships, I'm sure that we're going to see incredible achievements in the space industry as humanity seeks to create a society that will thrive beyond the boundaries of Earth. The success of the reusable rocket by SpaceXin 2017 is a step in the right direction. However, technology can also be straightforward and affect our daily lives and businesses.

Zoom Room

In my company, one of the technologies that have fundamentally shifted how my team, client and our vendors relate to each other and work is Zoom. Zoom is one of the top video and web conferencing platforms on the market.

I love the technology because my team is spread out across the U.S. and even in Europe. Every single week we're getting online with prescheduled or unscheduled Zoom meetings in our conference room, which we now call the Zoom room. People can join us at a moment's notice from anywhere they have internet access using their desktops, tablets or smartphones.

OWL Labs

After using Zoom for a couple of months, we went one further for one-touch conferencing, which is supported by OWL Lab 360 degree camera and microphone. What does that mean? It means that attending one of our video conferences is a much more dynamic experience.

Instead of seeing a flat look into the conference room, which is not only dull but can have people outside of the Zoom room miss subtle body language or even missed discussion points, the OWL Lab camera and microphone follows the speaker. That means that the moment someone begins to speak, the camera and microphone immediately rotate and focus on that individual, making the discussion much more animated and dynamic. If you want to see what we're doing and how it works, take a look at the OWL Labs experience.

What People Are Saying

Our team loves the technology, and everyone is pleased to get on a conference call because it is the next best thing to having people actually in the same room. In addition, the technology is regularly used for screen shares, and productivity has increased exponentially.

However, as an entrepreneur and businessman, one of the best compliments we've received come from our clients and partners. Quite simply, they've been wowed, and we're always getting new comments about how "forward thinking," "ingenious" and "practical" we are in our use of technology.

I'm a big believer that you have to embrace all of the resources at your disposal and in the modern era, that includes technology. One of the best things you can do for yourself and your business is to embrace technology, even something as simple as the platforms you use for video conferencing.
