Some Anti-Theist Religious Bits & Pieces: Round Nine

Of all of those Big Questions central to philosophical concepts that surround life, the universe and everything, the realms of theology and religions and the nature of deities continue to fascinate. Opinions proliferate in books, articles, videos, conversations in bars and pubs, and in fact anywhere and everywhere two or more humans are in proximity. There's the pro side; there's the anti-side. There aren't too many fence-sitters. I'm still in the anti-camp as the following bits and pieces illustrate.

Regarding Religion

*There have been and are thousands of mutually exclusive religions throughout the world. As implied, not all of these religions can be correct. There have been and are therefore thousands of mutually exclusive deities worshipped throughout the world. As implied, not all of these deities can be correct. Therefore, many of these religions / deities must have been inventions of and by the human mind. Therefore these / those deities that fall under that category have been created in the image of man and not vice versa. Since all of the True Believers in each and all of these religions will claim that all other religions except theirs are man-made inventions / fabrications, what odds that all are man-made since all-but-one have to be man-made and nobody can agree on which one that is? What's more likely - that 999 out of 1000 religions are pure human inventions and thus mental realities and therefore that one religion is a really real reality imposed from the outside-in, or that all 1000 religions are humanly derived from the inside-out? Don't the Mormons believe Christianity and Islam are false religions? Don't Muslims believe Christians and the Mormons are delusional? Don't Christians debunk the Mormon as well as the Islamic religion?

*Religion A to Religion B (and vice-versa): Our supernatural is the only really real supernatural and your alleged supernatural ain't worth a bucket of spit!

*Did you choose your religion, or did your religion choose you (i.e. - was your religion chosen for you)?

*Religious claims are not evidently true and evidentially not true (via Aron Ra).

*That fact is that your invisible 'friend' in the sky, be it God or be it Allah, is just as imaginary as any creator god, any fertility deity, any storm god, or any sun god.

*Christianity states that Jesus is actually God manifest on Earth who manifested Himself to save us from our sins (which we never committed; our ancestors did the dirty deed, not us) which, being all-knowing, He knew our ancestors would so do those dirty deeds before-the-fact. In any event, God sacrifices Himself (as Jesus) to Himself (as God) from Himself (since God set in train the events that led to sin in the first place). Does this make any real sense? It must, after all, the Father (God) condemns you, but the Son (Jesus) saves you - they're one and the same 'person', but what the heck, that still makes sense, doesn't it?

*Christian philosophy: In order to be a good Christian, never, ever try to think on behalf of yourself. Instead, read, re-read and defer to our holy book written thousands of years ago. Why? Because you could never hope to improve upon the moral lessons, teachings, instructions, principles and sensibilities that's been handed down to you from the Bronze Age.

*Faulty logic, as pointed out by The Bible Skeptic, Brett Palmer.

That Jesus exists proves God exists.

But then again, that Mohammad exists proves Allah exists.

And that crop circles exists proves extraterrestrials exist.

And that lumber yards proves that Paul Bunyan exists.

And that forests in Oregon prove that Bigfoot exists.

*We should take note of how statues devoted to the Buddha in Afghanistan were dynamited and hacked to pieces by a rival religion (Islam) on the grounds that these statues were just pure idols. This example as a sort of religious behavior could be given thousands of times over across history, and across religions.

*When one person sees or hears something that isn't there, that something is a delusion. When millions upon millions of people see and hear something that isn't really there, that something is called a religion.

Regarding Kim Davis

Do you have a constitutional civil right as a government official to deny and to prevent others from exercising their civil rights if those rights conflict with your worldview and philosophical, especially religious beliefs? It would appear so. Take the recent case involving government official Kim Davis.

Christians demand to have special privileges, at least according to the actions and statements of Kim Davis, Mat Staver, Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, and lots of others as well. Kim Davis is, if you recall, of course that duly elected Clerk in Kentucky who refused to perform one of her elected duties, specifically granting marriage licenses to same-sex couples, a duty for which she was employed to do and was being paid to do. We note to whit that she wasn't drafted against her will into her employment. Her position as Clerk was a free will choice. Still, she refused performing that one particular duty, even following a court order to do so, on the grounds that performing that duty violated her religious Christian beliefs and she justified her actions by noting that the bottom line for her was that God's law (as stated in the Old Testament) trumped human law (which allowed for same-sex marriage). For taking that position and that stand she was cheered on by anti-gay far right-wing fundamentalist Christians and defended by Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz and formally by Max Staver (who also sprang to the legal defense of Judge Roy Moore who also has frequently defied human law in favour of God's law).

Naturally Kim Davis and followers claimed that Christians, like themselves, were being persecuted by the godless and that their religious freedoms were being violated. Kim Davis and company alleges that she and they were being discriminated against on the grounds - let's call a spade a spade here - that she and they weren't being allowed to discriminate. The obvious upshot is that Kim Davis and followers have no interest in equality and that she and her followers all want special privileges as Christians to do as they damn well - oops - as God damn well wants them to do. So Kim Davis believes she is above the law - human law at least.

Now the question needs to be asked if Kim Davis (and others noted above) were denied some form of entitlement or justice by someone of a non-Christian faith, wouldn't she and her supporters scream blue-bloody-murder in protest? You bet they would. I mean a Muslim clerk could refuse her a driver's license on the grounds that women should be allowed to drive; a Muslim cop might arrest her if she was on the street unaccompanied by a family-related male or for not covering her head or face. Even another Christian could refuse her a marriage license on the grounds that she has already been married and has divorced - several times in fact.

By her own belief system Kim Davis should be put to death for adultery as she has been divorced and remarried several times, and that, according to her own Bible (Mark 10: 12) is adultery and the punishment for a woman's adultery is to be put to death (Leviticus 20: 10).

What Kim Davis should have done is either ask to be relieved of that particular duty and assigned another duty in its place, or, if that wasn't a possibility, resign. Regardless, the basic principle is that you have to leave your personal worldview and philosophies at home when you go to work. When at work you have to be able to integrate with other people holding other worldviews and other philosophies. Further, you need to obey human law even if you personally feel God's law is above human law.

I've said it before but it bears repeating that right-wing fundamentalist Christians feel persecuted when they are prevented from persecuting others. Right-wing fundamentalist Christians do NOT have a moral philosophy of live-and-let-live, rather they feel quite free and obligated to ram their moral values down your throat.

Regarding Religion vs. Science

*Billions upon billions of years of physical, chemical and biological evolution / natural selection is patently ridiculous. It's just so obvious that life, the Universe and everything had to have been created in just six days.
*No scientific mystery that has ever been solved has had that solution be of the theological kind.
Regarding Faith & Belief

*Lacking belief in something (like God) doesn't require any proof or evidence other than providing evidence or proof in having that lack of belief in and of itself.

*Everyone is born a non-believer, born without the belief of a god. Belief of a creator comes later after your family and community has had a chance to indoctrinate you into whatever religious tradition you have the misfortune of being brought up in.

*If you are a True Believer, it doesn't really matter what the facts are because it really doesn't matter to you what the true is. Belief / faith is your be-all-and-end-all.

*Here's a shortcut to rational thinking: "God said it; I believe it; that settles it".

*According to atheist Aron Ra, faith is an assertion of unreasonable convictions that is assumed without reason and defended against all reason.

Regarding Prayer

*God answers prayers - except when God doesn't answer prayers. Yet according to Matthew 7: 7 ask and you shall receive. And that's not a one-off. Try Matthew 21: 22 where if you believe and pray you will receive. But do you always get what you ask for from God? Where does the "oops" lie?

*Try this experiment. Pray to God for one month and record the hits and the misses. Next month, pray to that orbiting teapot around Jupiter and record the hits and the misses. Or perhaps pray to your pet dog instead of the teapot. Did you note any difference between the two results? Was there any difference between the two results? If not, what does this experiment tell you about the nature and the reality of God?

*Everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for you. Now let's say a prayer and try to change that!
Regarding Animal Morality

*You frequently see animals, especially birds and mammals grooming each other in places where a solitary individual couldn't reach. So even in the animal kingdom you get examples of "if you scratch my back I'll scratch your back".

Regarding the End Times

*It is logical to assume that there will never be an End Times; no need for any Second Coming. Why? Satan, being an intelligent sort of devil, will obviously have read the Bible and the Book of Revelation. Having done so, he will have gotten a spoiler alert and so he will know the ultimate outcome - his ultimate outcome resulting in his demise. So in order to avoid that ungodly fate, Satan just calls it quits and retires to Arizona where it is nice and hot and takes up writing poetry as a hobby (the satanic verses).

Regarding the Soul / Afterlife

*The afterlife, or at least the Christian version of it, has one major flaw - when does it end?

*If, as theist William Lane Craig insists, there has to be a First Cause then there has to be a Last Cause as well, otherwise you still have an infinite Universe, which, as William Lane Craig asserts can't be the case. The only way to have a finite Universe is for it to be temporally finite on either side, the Alpha side or the Omega side. But a Last Cause contradicts Christian theology - that bit about an eternal everlasting afterlife.

Regarding the Bible

*The Bible is the Word of God because the Bible tells us so and the Bible is infallible because the Bible is the Word of God. This is what is known in philosophical circles as circular reasoning.

*If you are mocked by little children, it's okay to curse them unto death in the name of the Lord. And so it came to pass that the Lord carried out the wishes of one so mocked and who issued such a curse upon little children using bears as the instrument of their death. Check it out in 2 Kings 2: 23-24.

*I've noted before how the Bible, and therefore how God, endorses the concept of slavery. For just one example, check out 1 Peter 2: 18. Now many translations try to be politically correct and substitute the word "servant" for "slave", but many other translations call a spade a space here, or should I say they call a slave a slave. A rose by any other name...

*If you are into Biblical contradictions check out:

1 Kings 5: 16 vs. 2 Chronicles 2: 2: How many people did Solomon employ to oversee his workers? Was it 3,600 or was it 3,300?

2 Chronicles 9: 25 vs. 1 Kings 4: 26: How many stalls did Solomon have for his horses and chariots? Was it 40,000 or was it 4,000?

Acts 1: 18 vs. Matthew 27: 6-7: It's not clear who purchased a field. Was it "this man" or was it the "chief priests"?

Question: Why didn't God proof-read The Word of God?

*Do your own experimental investigation. Compare and contrast the relevant size, staffing and number of animals in Noah's Ark vis-a-vis any standard animal park or zoo in order to ascertain just how ridiculous the Biblical concept is.

Regarding God

*More faulty logic, as pointed out by The Bible Skeptic, Brett Palmer.
Anecdotes are not proof of God's existence.
Faith is not proof of God's existence.
Hope is not proof of God's existence.
Hallucinations / visions / personal experiences are not proof of God's existence.
Even the supernatural (if it exists) is in itself not proof of God's existence.

*Everything we know about God, god or the gods was written by humans for humans and no doubt all such humans had hidden agendas.

*God can never substitute as The Answer just because of the current state of our own ignorance.

*You can't explain every detail of biological evolution so therefore evolution must be false. On the other hand, you can't prove that there is no God so therefore it must be the case, it must be true, that there is a God. This is what is known in some religious circles as logic.

*If cats had a deity, that deity would have whiskers, fur and a purr, a tail and jaws, paws and claws. Cats were clearly made in the image of such a feline deity.

*Even if something bad happens to you, it is really good because all things that happen are all part of God's Master Plan. Check out Psalm 139: 6. That means that all abortions, all murders, all rapes, etc. are good since they are all part of God's Master Plan. Further, since God has a Master Plan, that means that nobody has any free will and therefore prayer is meaningless - which is contradicted by both God / Jesus in the Bible.

*Does God or Allah pray, and if so, who does God (or Allah) pray to?

*How long have theists had (not to mention God Himself) to convince sceptics that God actually exists? Why haven't they succeeded? Why hasn't God succeeded? Because there is no God, that's why!

*Why can't an all-powerful God who answers prayers and who performs miracles recreate an amputee's missing limb? Why? Because there is no God, that's why!

*God must be really insecure and have a massive inferiority complex since he demands all and sundry worship Him 24/7/52. I wonder what Freud would have to say about that!

*Speaking of worshipping, God just loves burnt offerings and the smell of burning meat and not just animal flesh but human flesh as well. In fact you'll find over 250 references to burnt offering(s) in the Bible (KJV).

*If God doesn't know what lust feels like then God isn't all-knowing. If God does know what lust feels like, then He isn't really all-good now, is He?

*Why did God bother with His "Be fruitful and multiply" order when He could have just created more people all by Himself from dust and ribs?

*God isn't exactly the brightest of deities on the market. Shortly after "In the beginning" an alleged all-knowing God decided (although that implies God has free will which is paradoxical in the context of being also all-knowing) to create the human species. This was basically a bad move but one which He thought was a good idea at the time. Anyway, this rather psychotic megalomaniac created a human male and a human female and saw that it was good - for a fraction of a godly day or so depending on what time units God uses. Of course things quickly went from bad to worse once that "Be fruitful and multiply" commandment really kicked in and started to achieve results. Then God became so angry with Himself for His monumental screw-up when He realised that the humans He had created were totally flawed - in God's eyes - being wicked and full of corruption and doing violence and so on and so on. So, God's psychotic solution was mass murder and so He killed everyone (animals too for some unexplained reason) without fear or favour. Drowning was God's chosen method of humanity's execution (except for Noah and company who weren't wicked or corrupt or prone to violence). Did that ultimately result in any real improvement? Do pigs fly? No! With God's "Be fruitful and multiply" order still in force the world was repopulated with a new crop of the same sorts of idiots that pissed Him off the first time with predictable results. So what was the whole point of the exercise? As I said, God's not the brightest of deities.

Regarding God's Intelligent Design

*Creationists (anti-evolutionists) love to cite the human eye as something so obviously intelligently designed that only the omniscience and the perfection of God could have designed it and that any evolutionary stage between no eye and a fully developed eye is worthless in terms of survival of the fittest. Quite apart from the fact that evolutionary biologists have adequately countered that argument, I could argue that if God so intelligently designed the human eye then there would never arise a need to see the optometrist. There would be no need for glasses or contact lenses and everybody's vision would be an uncorrected 20/20 from cradle to grave.

*According to some creationists, one obvious proof of God's intelligent design is the shape of the banana. A banana fits perfectly in the human hand just perfect for the eating, an obvious proof of God's intelligent design! But what about the design of the pineapple or the coconut?

Regarding God's Omnipotence

*Premise: God is all-powerful and can do anything (that's not logically inconsistent).
*Premise: God answers prayers.
*Premise: Amputees pray to God to restore their missing limb(s).
*Observation: God does not do this - ever.
*Conclusion 1: Therefore God is not omnipotent, or
*Conclusion 2: Therefore God does not answer prayers, or both.
*Conclusion 3: Therefore by the grace of Ockham's Razor, God does not exist.

Regarding God's 'Morality'

*If God is all-loving, all-just, all-merciful, all-benevolent and therefore God can only do good, then clearly any suffering in the world, animal or human, must be all for the good in the mind of God since He does nothing to change the status quo. Of course the real answer is that God is not all-loving, all-just, all-merciful, and all-benevolent as even a cursory reading of the Old Testament will reveal.

*Pope Benadict XVI as reported on 15 September 2006 in response to Islamic jihads noted that violence is contrary to God's nature and to reason. Conclusion: therefore the Pope has never ever even read the Bible!

*God is the ultimate source of all morality, so you should do as God does and as God commands which is kill, Kill, KILL! You need to kill disobedient children, witches, gay men, Sabbath workers, adulterers, fortune tellers, non-virgin brides, and a host of others. Despite God's commandment "thou shall not kill", God kills just about all the men and (innocent) women in Sodom & Gomorrah, all of the firstborn in ancient Egypt (plus equivalent livestock), and a host of others. Even if God doesn't kill Himself, God relishes when others kill in his name.

*Without my making any additional comments, just compare and contrast Jeremiah 9: 24 with the following:

Deuteronomy: Chapter 20
Deuteronomy: Chapter 28
Exodus: Chapter 32
Ezekiel: Chapter 9
Ezekiel: Chapter 35
Genesis: Chapter 7
Genesis: Chapter 19
Hosea: Chapter 9
Hosea: Chapter 13
Isaiah: Chapter 13
Jeremiah: Chapter 9 (except Verse 24)
Joshua: Chapter 6
Joshua: Chapter 7
Joshua: Chapter 8
Joshua: Chapter 10
Judges: Chapter 1
Judges: Chapter 3
2 Kings: Chapter 17
Leviticus: Chapter 26
Numbers: Chapter 31
1 Samuel: Chapter 15
1 Samuel: Chapter 18
Now go back and re-read Jeremiah 9: 24.

Regarding Jesus

*Compare and contrast the Jesus who equally states that you should honor your Mum and your Dad (Mark 10: 19; Luke 18: 20; Matthew 19: 19) and you should hate your Mum and your Dad (Luke 14: 26). So which is it to be?

*Jesus, born on the 25th of December? As Jaclyn Glenn is noted as saying, or singing, "Have yourself a merry little myth-mas", with the accent on the "myth".

Regarding Atheists & Atheism

*Christian Logic: Atheists hate God. Atheist Logic: You can't hate something you don't believe has any existence in any really real form of reality. Yet it's been claimed by many theists that the reason atheists are atheists is that they reject God's authority, they don't want to be told what to do by God, they don't want to be accountable to God and they don't wish to bow and scrape to any almighty deity. Alas, that would mean that atheists actually believe such an almighty deity actually existed which is the exact opposite of their actual worldview. Atheism is not anti-God or hostility to God. You can't be anti or hostile or give the middle finger to something that you believe doesn't exist! This is what is known in the trade as real logic, something theists aren't always very good at exhibiting.

*Another common claim is that more atrocities have been caused by atheists than by theists, and people like Mao and Stalin and Pol Pot are cited as proof. That reasoning is faulty since atrocities committed by atheists are NOT done in the name of atheism whereby atrocities done by theists are done in the name of their religion and in the name of their god - usually God (or Allah). There are lots of examples of the latter; no examples of the former.

*So why is atheism Public Enemy Number One? Why don't I see Christians go hammer-and-tongs debating with the Mormons, or Muslims with Scientology or the Hindus versus Satanists? No, it always tends to be atheists who are the villains!

*Atheists are considered to be bigots just be saying "I don't agree with your faith, your religion or your god(s)." In fact any criticism of someone's faith, religion and god(s) are normally considered insulting and just a bigoted opinion by that someone of faith.

*Theists tend to insist that atheism and the non-belief that atheists have is in itself a belief system and thus a religion in its own right. But take that to its logical conclusion. How many non-beliefs do Christians have since Christians don't believe in hundreds of non-Christian religions? Since they believe these other religions are false religions, well that belief makes their own brand of atheism against other religions a religion. That also means that non-belief in fairies (and the Loch Ness Monster, and the Easter Bunny, etc.) is really a belief and thus a religion. Christian logic - not.

Short Introduction to Salvador Dali's Painting "The Persistence of Memory"

Salvador Dali's The Persistence of Memory is one of his most cherished works from a prolific lifetime. It was painted in 1931 long after he attended art school in Madrid and Barcelona. His early work throughout his education reflects an unusual aptitude for a wide variety of styles.

In the 1930's Dali's unparalleled ability as an artist was combined with his discovery of Sigmund Freud's teachings about subconscious imagery, and his recognizable mature style was introduced to the world. Before painting The Persistence of Memory Dali had also become acquainted with the Paris Surrealists. He felt enabled to create groundbreaking art that would establish the reality within the subconscious.

The iconic imagery of the melting pocket watch has made The Persistence of Memory one of Dali's most recognizable paintings. The painting is a splendid example of the contrast between sharp hard lines and melting softness. The watches themselves symbolize the concept of time past, and perhaps the irrelevance of time in the universe. Dali may have been commenting on the Surrealist interpretation of Albert Einstein's theory of relativity.

Dali painted an abstract human figure in the middle of the composition that some interpret as a self-portrait. This bizarre figure is a recurring visitor in his work, and represents a soul that travels within both the realms of reality and the subconscious. Dali often drugged himself into hallucinatory states, and spent a great deal of time exploring his subconscious. The figure in the painting has only one closed eye which suggests a dream-state.

Ants crawl over a clock at the bottom left of the painting. Dali often painted ants to symbolize decay. This effectively ties in the mortal plane to work that is clearly a depiction of the subconscious.

It is likely that the clocks was used by Salvador Dali to symbolize mortality instead of literal time. And the cliffs that provide the backdrop are the impression of part of Catalonia, which was Dali's childhood home.
This is rather a small painting, at least not as large as you would think. While this painting is one of Dali's biggest triumphs, the actual size of this oil on canvas painting measures only 9 1/2" x 13".

This painting was first shown at the Julien Levy Gallery and has been part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City since 1932, thanks to an anonymous donor.

How's That Leader DOING ?

The late, former mayor of New York City, Ed Koch, was perhaps, the one who made popular, asking his constituents, How am I doing? However, whether this was merely a style, technique, etc, or a desire to acquire meaningful, valuable, important feedback, in this specific case, might have been somewhat questionable! However, be that as it may, a quality, effective leader, needs to receive, with an open - mind, some objective critiques, suggestions, and feedback. Since most people possess either an overly rosy, or excessively negative self - image, it is often challenging, for them to be truly, objectively introspective! For this and many other reasons, it is always a valuable exercise, to review, and see how a leader, is DOING.

1. Dreams; deliver:

Does the individual possess dreams and a vital, vibrant vision, which align, with the mission and objectives of the group he serves? What motivates someone, to become a leader? Is it based on a dream, which translates to relevant goals, or is it merely because he desire some perceived perks of leadership? Look closely, and examine whether one's rhetoric and promises, match his action plans, and whether he focuses on delivering on those promises!

2. Options; opportunities:

How ready, willing and able, is someone, to expand his comfort zone, and consider, with an open - mind, additional options, and alternatives? The wise, ready - for - primetime, leader, realizes, he must be willing to, at least consider, alternatives! How else will he be prepared to even recognize opportunities, and without that ability/ preparation, how can anyone, possibly, seize the best opportunity, at the best time?

3. Ideas; ideology; integrity:

One of the greatest challenges to identifying and choosing the best leaders, is finding someone who possesses the right amount of integrity needed! He must also be ideas - oriented, and seek solutions, rather than merely complaining, and relying on populist, empty rhetoric! These must also align with an ideology, which is in sync with the mission of his organization!

4. Needs:

Are the plans, programs and ideas, proposed and introduced, both relevant, and based, on the needs, concerns and priorities of constituents, and the organization, itself?

5. Generate goodwill; growth:

Observe whether someone's body language, attitude, perceptions, approach, and ideas, will generate goodwill, or is it adversarial and negative? Only when one consistently focuses on those he serves, and proves it, both by his plans and example, will the organization, exhibit necessary growth, which is a major component, in sustainability!

Leaders must consider, and constituents must examine, how their leader is actually DOING! Organizations flourish when their leaders focus properly, and perform accordingly!

The Battle Of BCD: Winning Versus Losing Leadership

Although I have been involved in all aspects and areas of leadership, for four decades, from identifying and qualifying, to training and developing, consulting, and serving as a leader, and truly believe organizations must take seriously developing the right individuals to serve as leaders, in the final analysis, how someone performs in these positions, to a very large degree, depends on the individual, and the choices he makes! Robert Frost famously wrote of the paths one takes when he comes to a fork in the road, and quality, effective, meaningful leaders, almost always look at, and do things, differently, than the wannabes! I refer to this difference in mindset, choices, vision, and action, as the BCD, and it often is the determining concept, between winning versus losing leadership.

1. Blame versus benefits:

Those pseudo - leaders, who try to convince others to choose them, although they often have little vision, or solutions, generally resort to the infamous, blame and complain, game! This may include name - calling, misleading statements, or CTB (cover their butts), and may often be popular, because uninformed, rank - and - file individuals, often seek a savior, to lead them out of the proverbial wilderness, to what they perceive as better times. Indications of this type of individual, include: generalities rather than specifics; complaining rather than solving; blaming others, but avoiding personal responsibility (often at nearly all costs). What good does it do, to merely blame and complain, without introducing a better path? On the other hand, a winning leader discusses benefits and alternatives, articulating a far - more detailed plan, to accomplish what needs to be addressed. When one discusses benefits, he does so, instead of merely discussing raw data, or isolating one factor, without fully considering the bigger picture, and potential contingencies!

2. Complain versus clarify/ cooperate/ choose:

It certainly is far easier to complain and blame someone else, than it is to look at the causes and effects, and clarify the challenges, seek cooperation, and make decisions and choices. Negative leaders opt for adversarial, polarizing positions, while winning leaders, seek to bring people together, for the common good!

3. Dysfunction versus deliver:

Have you ever observed someone seeking (or even holding) a position of leadership, who reminds you of a dysfunctional family member? You hope he's right and capable, but in your heart - of - hearts, you know, that blaming, complaining, dysfunction, and failing to have a real plan, doesn't get it done! On the other hand, wouldn't it be nice, to have leaders who delivered on viable, needs - oriented, promises? Sometimes, winning leaders need to take unpopular stands, for the long - term good, sustainability, and relevance of the organization!

Sustainable organizations are generally the ones, who have had effective leadership, with winning leaders. Losing leaders often are the main, contributing factors, behind diminished organizations. Win the battle of the BCD!

Short Introduction to Scientist Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton was a preeminent contributor to the fields of mathematics and physics. He was born in 1642 in Lincolnshire, England, and was described as a natural philosopher during his lifetime. His work guided the scientific revolution during the 17th century. Until today Newton is widely recognised as one of the most influential scientists of all time and a key figure in the scientific revolution.

As a child Newton attended The King's School in Grantham where he began to develop a foundational knowledge of mathematics. After being widowed for the second time Newton's mother tried to motivate him to become a farmer. He hated leaving school and was re-admitted after the headmaster convinced his mother to let him return. He subsequently rose to be the highest-ranked pupil.

Newton began studying at Cambridge's Trinity College in 1661. It was there that he recorded his first theories about mechanics. His work was informed by his study of philosophy and astronomy. His discovery of a generalized binomial theorem in 1665 was the starting point from which he developed his theory of calculus.

After obtaining his degree from Trinity Newton spent two years at home studying. He made significant progress developing his theories of optics and calculus. His work impressed professor Isaac Barrow, and he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1672.

The field of optics fascinated Newton. To prove his theories of color and dispersion of light he built a refracting telescope for the Royal Society in 1672. He published his notes Of Colours in 1671, and they were later developed into the work Opticks.

Newton published his first collection of work regarding gravitation and mechanics in 1687. Principia was an achievement that had been in development for many years, and defined three universal laws of motion. These laws would go on to create the basis of classical mechanics, and directly advance machinery during the Industrial Revolution. After publishing Principia Newton found himself receiving international recognition and acclaim.

In Newton's later life, when asked for an evaluation of his achievements, he answered, "I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself now and then in finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, while the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."

Later in his life Newton would devote a great deal of time to the study of alchemy and biblical interpretation. He died in 1727 and was interred at Westminster Abbey.

The Great Food Rescue

Is food waste high on your agenda? Did you see the BBC Program about the charity that has sprung up with the assistance of volunteers and how they are trying to turn their venture into a national phenomenon. There are already small groups working throughout the country recycling the waste, perfectly edible food that would otherwise go into landfill.

Beginning in Oxford, six years ago this great group of people are now spreading their venture to London and eventually throughout the country. The volunteers collect unwanted food items from small and large supermarkets, specialist shops and wholesalers. Much of the produce never even gets into the shops, although I see Tesco and possibly others do have a wonky veg area. The national waste is humongous, a supply of perfectly good edible food in currently wasted.

The team is headed by Robin Aikin and David Cains and supported by over a hundred volunteer in their initial area. They have contacted local charities who feed the homeless and destitute, pensioners and those that are struggling to make ends meet. What a great community effort, what a great way to make a difference.

Quality STILL Wins Over Quantity

When it comes to Customers, focus on Quality, not Quantity... it still works... better than ever!

When I first started my "deep dive" into "Customers" and how to optimize their experience (almost 20 years ago) we didn't have Social Media. The ability to "spray your audience" with useless tweets, images, or emoticons, and commenting didn't exist. If you didn't do a really high quality job with a high quality customer you didn't get any high quality referrals or recommendations. You weren't talked about and the customer simply left.

Today, we live in the Internet/Digital Revolution where in a matter of seconds you can reach thousands upon thousands of people with a simple short tweet, image, hashtag, or comment. And if you want to take a little longer, you can blast out an e-mail to the same list of thousands. But just like the old saying goes, "Just because you CAN do it doesn't mean you SHOULD do it." This may be more relevant today than any other time in history!

While the "Art and Science" of creating Word-of-Mouth has certainly changed, the power of it and the impact it can have on a business has increased more than anything we have seen. The question is whether or not your business is using it as LEVERAGE or a DETERRENT.

Today we have the ability to reach anyone we want in an instant. This is powerful. The question is whether you are reaching the right people or whether you are simply reaching lots of people. Going after "masses" of people is "so yesterday" as a strategy. It doesn't work any longer... at least not with any follow-on rewards.
QUANTITY is not the answer today. The answer is not to go after massive "likes" and "followers" and "connections" if they you haven't identified their Personas as specifically your potential customers. And not only do they need to be your potential customers, they have to be your "ideal potential customer." No longer do you have time to waste on marketing and connecting to audiences that aren't ideal.

If a customer is not an "ideal customer" for you, they probably are for someone else and you should let them market to them instead of you. Let them spend the time and resources on trying to attract them. Today, find the "shiny marbles" you really want the most in your customer base and design a strategy to go after them with everything you have... tailored to what would really help them improve their lives or their business.

This is QUALITY over QUANTITY. Choose the few that you would love to have as customers because they fit the way you do business and how you want to grow. When you know who these few, quality customers are then you are focusing in the right way to create LEVERAGE in your marketing.

Here's why you want to focus on a few, high quality customers and prospective customers... THEY TELL OTHERS JUST LIKE THEM. Everyone knows people like themselves and they hang out with others who have similar interests and needs. A simple example... the person who invests a lot of their time in charities and non-profits knows a whole bunch of other people who do the same. This works in virtually every aspect of your business and with your customers... your "ideal customer" knows other potential ideal customers.

The one question I highly recommend every business owner or leader focuses on is this... "Do you offer a customer experience to your ideal customer that is so incredibly remarkable that they can't wait to tell other potential ideal customers about you?"

If the answer is YES, then you are well on your way to capturing the ideal customer in your market ahead of your competitors and you will be able to "own that customer persona" going forward... becoming a differentiated and unique brand to this ideal audience... CONGRATULATIONS!!

If you answer NO, there's room for improvement... both on identifying your ideal customer and on improving the experience you give them so they are motivated to tell others.

This is where developing a strategy that helps you move to an answer of YES would give you tremendous LEVERAGE. It would allow you to truly differentiate yourself with the AUDIENCE YOU WANT instead of just an overall general audience... of which there are many in that audience that either doesn't care that much about you or you won't ever be able to make happy. They are DETERRENTS to your strategy!

Here's the MAGIC to this strategy and focus... QUALITY matters much more than QUANTITY!

When you focus on the QUALITY aspect of identifying your "ideal customer audience" it doesn't matter how many there are... the numbers work for you today where they didn't so much before. As little as 10 years ago, if you had 20 in your quality audience, they probably had a leverage power of 2 - 10... meaning they would tell between 2 and 10 people about you. That means your ideal audience 10 years ago of 20 would be able to reach between 40 - 200 new prospective "ideal customers" for you via Word-of-Mouth. Not bad... but certainly not good enough to rapidly grow your business today.

Take those same numbers in today's new Digital/Internet Revolution. If you have the same 20 people in your "ideal customer audience" they all have (on average) 1000 friends, connections, and followers. This means those 20 ideal customers now have the potential to reach 20,000 potential new "ideal customers" because of their reach. And remember, people know people like themselves so the likelihood that many of these 20,000 potential customers are just like them is extremely high!! Let's be conservative and cut this number in half... or even more conservative and cut it down by 75% if you are really uncertain... it still gives you a reach of 5,000 potential ideal customers!

When you compare the leverage you have today vs. just 10 years ago, the difference is 4800 potential new customers... and that's being extremely conservative by just assuming a 25% likelihood they know people like themselves... which I would say is incredibly low.

This is why QUANTITY is not the answer today in the WORD-of-MOUTH Customer Economy we now live in... QUALITY is your answer to getting you to the IDEAL QUANTITY.

Allowing your customers to help you reach the desired, ideal audience is easier than it's ever been in history... but only if you approach it strategically and with a completely (and I emphasize completely) different frame of reference. Using a traditional approach of "spray and pray" or "campaigns" or "broadcast messages" is not going to work. Investing the time to truly find out what will "help your ideal audience" is what gives you the foundation to create LEVERAGED WORD-OF-MOUTH.

Forget the big numbers people are offering you today... they won't help you achieve the success you are looking for. Forget trying to blast your messages out to as big of a list or population as you can find... it won't work any longer and your audience will "turn you off."

Instead, try a strategy that works in our new world... focus on the "small numbers" of the "ideal audience" and you can take advantage of the leverage available today in our Digital Marketing Revolution and Customer Economy.

This is what will make the difference. In virtually every speech I give I share a simple way to think about and remember this concept... "You have to really SMALL to get really BIG." Keep this in mind when you are trying to figure out your strategy for moving forward, it might just be the "mantra" you need to develop and eclipse your competition.

And as usual, if you want to learn more about this just shoot me a message. I'm happy to talk with you more about it without a fee... it's ALWAYS my gift to you to help you be better at what you do. As I always say, my passion is to help you "skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it is today," as the famous ice hockey player Wayne Gretzky used to say. If that's where you want to go as an organization, I'm happy to give you some insights to get you thinking different and headed in the right direction to take advantage of the new world we live in today.

If you found this helpful, please share it with your friends so they can also learn from the material. It not only means a lot to me but it helps other people see the story. And if this resonated with you, please visit my http://www.WOM10.com site and read more posts like this one.

We used to get excited about moving our companies from being GOOD to being GREAT... but today, being GREAT isn't good enough... it's a commodity. Today, if you aren't on a path to move your company from being GREAT to being REMARKABLE and MEMORABLE, you don't get talked about.

The Six-Year-Old Politicians

What is happening with politics in the States and on a global scale?

Imagine you are a six year old in a schoolyard. Fenced in, contained, under the rule of bullies and the authorities. Mull over the idea that the old patriarchal paradigm was put in place and is run by six-year-olds. The reality is the authorities have grown-up bodies, but their brains are still functioning as a six-year-old. Let me explain.

Your Brain and the Old Paradigm

Neural programs are put in place by the time you are six-years-old and determine 95% of your actions. According to molecular biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton, you have a conscious mind and a subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is one million times more powerful in processing information than the conscious mind. In addition, the subconscious mind controls your behavior about 95% of the time.

Your subconscious generates 40 million nerve impulses per second and operates during 95% of the day, while your conscious mind fires 40 nerve impulses per second and runs for only 5% of the day. Do the math; your subconscious programming controls your life unless you change it.

Everything you learn in the first six years is absorbed and becomes your fundamental truth. That means, what ever your family, culture, race and religion believed and practiced is neurologically wired in your body.

When you recognize that almost everyone is functioning from programs that were set down by the age of six, you can start to see the world with a new perspective. As you realize that government, most businesses and corporations are run by six-year-olds who are basing their actions on fear, you have a tremendous advantage. The implications this knowledge is astounding.

Remember when you were six, playing on the school playground? The six-year-old bullies in the schoolyard are running the government and the economy. Everyone is afraid of them. The government agencies adjust their policies to keep the bullies happy. The bullies are the big corporations, Wall Street, politicians, and the old patriarchal paradigm.

At the moment six-year-old bullies are continually stirring up trouble to overrun humanity. The puffed up bullies belittle others so they feel better about themselves. Instead of facing inner shame and disrespect they take it out on everyone else. The big bullies are really the cowards who don't have the courage to see what is lurking inside their body and mind. It is much easier to spew rage, hatred and anger than it is to grow up.

Do you want a six-year-old running your life?

Humanity is at a turning point. We can leave the six-year-old bullies behind and move onto a new playing field. The oppressors are currently getting more violent, abusive and controlling. Escape the cracked hot cement playground surrounded by chain link fences with barbed wire on top. Leave the guards at the gate. What will happen when a critical mass of people graduate, and the only ones left on the old playground are the bullies?

For this to happen, you have to consciously change the neural pathways in your brain and body. As you shift your thoughts and actions from fear to love, your body and world start to change. What would it be like to change the script of your life from fear to pleasure and love? To shift from anger into joy, delight and play? What would your life look like?

Rather than fight the old paradigm, create the new paradigm.

We are at a crossroads. We can continue down the path of war, hatred, greed and violence and obliterate ourselves. Or we can create a new paradigm.

How do you want the new paradigm to look? How is it different from the old worldview? If you choose, you can upgrade to a completely different playground. Your lifestyle, finances and business will evolve to a higher frequency of love, abundance and joy.

Create a different kind of life than you've ever seen before. Open to new possibilities and expand into fuller brain and body function. Allow your creativity to fly beyond the limits and splash across the page. Deep inside your intuition and wisdom, in the land of the unknown, is where the answers are found to create the new paradigm.

Step up.

It's time to create a new life and game on earth.

Your part is needed.

Take action, NOW, before it's too late!

I am a new paradigm business and lifestyle mentor. I would love to help you move beyond old conditioning and to create more love, joy and abundance in your life and the world.

Presidential Election: Did 'Fake News' Cause Hillary To Lose The Election?

Even though the presidential election has come to an end, it doesn't mean that everyone is willing to accept the result. There are going to be plenty of people who are still in shock, even though a number of weeks have now passed.

One Option

In this case, someone could look into what they can do to change what has happened. They may take the time to donate a certain amount of money so that a recount can take place.

This can then be seen as a way for the decision to be reversed and to finally get the right candidate into the white house. As to whether this will work, one will have to wait and see what happens.

Another Experience

And even if someone has been able to accept the outcome, they could still find it hard to get their head around what has taken place. This could be something that they didn't expect to happen.

What this shows is that these people would have been fairly certain that Hillary would win the election, and this probably going to be due to what the mainstream media said. But while one could wonder if this source of information lied to them during this time; they might simply believe that they got it wrong.

Business as Usual

One can then continue to pay attention to what they have to say, and there will be no reason for them to question what they hear. And if one has paid attention to what this source has said since the presidential election result, they are unlikely to have heard them talk about why they got it wrong.

As far as they are concerned, their predictions would have been right, and they can come across as though they are just as surprised as everyone else. The people who are there to inform them are then going be in the same position.

The Answer

What one may have also heard is that the only reason Hillary lost is because there was so much fake news available when the election was taking place. This will generally relate to the news that was shared through different social media sites.

It has been said that it was normal for people to share an article without taking the time to read through it. The title would then have been enough, and it wouldn't have mattered how accurate the article was.

The Consequences

Once this took place there would have plenty of their 'friends' or 'followers' who shared the same article. It then wouldn't have taken very long for it to be seen by hundreds or even thousands of people.

And even if they didn't share it, it would have had an effect on how other people perceived each candidate. Based on these different factors, this is clearly not something that can be overlooked.

It's Not Right

Therefore, as the mainstream media did everything they could to present a balanced view of each candidate, they have every right to make a big deal out of this. Ultimately, what was shared on social media stopped people from being able to make an informed decision.

This information would have caused a certain amount of people to vote for the wrong person. If they only relied on the mainstream media to inform them, there is a strong chance that they would have made a different decision.

A Helping Hand

Fortunately, a list of fake sites has been compiled, and this will make it easier for them to make sure that they are no longer misinformed. If one had to do this for themselves, it could take them a lot of time.

It could then be said that it is a good that thing that the mainstream media exists, as one would end up believing all kinds of crazy things. Their mind would then be filled with lies and half-truths.

Another Response

However, if someone doesn't get too caught up in what the mainstream media comes out with, they might find it hard to accept what they are saying. This could be seen as another way to distract people.

One might start to think about what right they have to define whether something is 'fake news' or not. This is not to say that one will believe that these kinds of sites don't exist, but to say that the mainstream media is only real news source will be going a bit far.

Control

In their eyes, this could be seen as way for them to stop people from being exposed to other points of view. The only way that they can keep people in line is if they go along with what they tell them.

As soon as they start to break away and to think for themselves, they will no longer have people where they want them to be. Their need to focus on 'fake news' is then just another way to keep people away from what will set them free.

Fake News

What one could also think about how the mainstream media did everything they could to cover up Hillary's misdeeds. They had no interest talking about what each candidate was really like; their main purpose was to try to make Hillary the nest president.

Therefore, this would have been a time when they were busying creating their own 'fake news'. But this has been covered up, and this shows that it's not a problem when they do it.

Conclusion

If the mainstream media focused on telling people about what is actually taking place, there would be no reason for them to look towards other sources of information. And through blaming 'fake news' for what has taken place, it is stopping them from being able to see that plenty of people realised that Hillary was also a deeply flawed candidate.

4 Tips To Earn More Ultimate Team Coins In FUT 17

If you are a football fan, then you definitely know about the FIFA ultimate team and FIFA coins. The FIFA coins also known as FUT coins make the currency in FIFA Ultimate Team and they make it possible for you to purchase consumables and players; you can also buy packs using the coins. The console you have selected to play on is what determines how you get to build up the coins. Creating your ultimate team must be your greatest aim when playing the game and the truth is that this can prove challenging if you do not have the FUT coins or enough coins for that matter.

You can decide to buy FUT packs using real money and selling of cards in the transfer market to earn the coins. The other simple way of making the coins is by buying players when they are cheap, especially when everyone seems to be low on coins only for you to sell them later at a profit. For the second approach to work perfectly for you, remember to choose highly ranked players with impressive ratings rather than players who have little to offer. Player auctions do work when you are right with your timings. Whichever way you choose to go, there are things important to remember if at all you want to make and earn more FUT 17 coins.

Tip 1 - Play on

If there is one simple way of gaining the valuable currency in the game, then it would be to play the fame. Earn more coins by engaging in online and offline matches, tournaments and even game against your playmates. You can take advantage of FUT champion mode to gather decent coins; you never know it might even fetch you a player pack or two in the process.

Tip 2 - Do not ignore the catalogue

If there is one thing that most players miss out on is the coin boost that can be enjoyed from the catalogue. It has lots of items you can buy and by accessing the window and choosing to buy coin upgrades, you will end up enjoying the extra currency when you play a full match. Try out the catalogue and see where it gets you.

Tip 3 - Do not hold on to flops

Truth is you are likely to have lots of players in your squad that you never use at all. Instead of holding onto them for no reason at all, flog them to transfer market and make your cash. They may not be valuable to you, but they could mean something to others and their prices might even shock you. Alternatively, you can discard them for a few hundreds of coins depending on card quality they hold. Bronze and silver players may fetch you less, but may be more valuable on the market so do your research, then choose the best way to get rid of the flops.

Tip 4 - Go on a bargain hunt

If you are using the transfer market, then so not be afraid to use any available bargain deals. You can look for fixtures coming up and then try to evaluate which players will be in demand. Create a list of such players and then buy them cheap and hold on to them so you sell them at top price later.

Importance Of Career Planning

Planning in life is always very important and pay as it is based on advance level of pros and cons with deep evaluation. It may include the following:

• Personal interests
• Financial stability
• Market requirement
• Family involvement
• Switching between careers

It provides us following advantages in our life and allows us to move ahead and accelerate our approach towards speedy approach on the path of success:

• Avoids financial loss
• Well placed jobs
• Personal interests
• Better utilization of abilities
• High success rate
• Futuristic approach
• Less time consumption
• Application of education
• Mental relaxation
• Less resources
• Realistic planning
• Futuristic approach

Career planning enables us to meet challenges in a proper and amicable manner. It acquires the forthcoming approach, possible problems and their remedies. Without planning we cannot foresee the expected challenges in advance and similarly may not be able to plan the measures to overcome them.

Another important aspect of planning is to meet the challenges. It is a personality building and grooming activity in itself. This activity enables an individual or group of people to reborn their personality and develop a good human being in himself/herself. Remember, career starts in the practical life where we all have to go in the open field, start our assignments, meet challenges, face people, solve problems and difficulties of the practical environment. All these activities are a bit new to a new individual who has just come out of the university.

When career planning is done, he/she is mentally and truly/actually prepared to face, meet and successfully overcome the hurdles of life and career in advance. He/she is ready and already expecting the difficulties to come and these are not at all a new disturbing surprise for the individual. Its not only the matter of facing but one is ready to solve the issues in minimum possible time and least available resources, adding in the efficiency of the worker. This outshines the performance of the individual and gives more chances of accomplishment and increases the success rate. Hence career planning accelerates the career with positive thinking.

Another aspect is to broaden the approach. When a career is planned, its solution is also kept in mind. This allows the planner to look and verify many additional aspects as well than only concerned. It broadens the approach and is a very effective source of learning. It gives you more choice than you have not even thought of.

Last but not the least career planning allows you to choose the education field based on you planned future. It defines a cleat roadmap which you need to follow so that you can be successful in your future career. It is the mapping of your mind and personality. In a nutshell we can say that planning is your future and future can be secured effectively if you career planning is correct and efficient.

The Age Of My Years

As the age of my years settles in the comfort that I have known is often diminished by the unsettledness of life. Through-out the years where I have known great joy and passion have tempered the sorrow and anguish that has always past my way. Remembrance of all those yesterdays where there was victorious athletic achievements or noble accomplishments they were always overshadowed by mistakes made along the way.
Even though I now bask in the twilight of my years after thoughts of what could have been flow through conscious thoughts. Many a time I question what could have been if I did things just a little bit differently. They say hindsight is just an old mans dream. But, for me I still live with this reality.

When I was young the carefree days of youth flowed like a gentle stream making it's way to the ocean of life. As I reached manhood I set sail into uncharted waters always looking ahead. Soon rough seas and howling winds brought storms that often set me adrift. But, I always managed to right my ship and kept on sailing straight ahead.

Those were the years that were either filled with caviar or humble pie. Where moments of the sublime were too short to last. But, as time moved on the older I got I began to realize the sea of life always has it's way. Now, the age of my years has finally caught up with me I have finally realized it was really meant to be.

Resting easy with the few years I have left those fleeting moments of sweet tenderness linger ever so effortlessly in my memory. With great fondness I look back to see a smile so infectious has stayed through-out the years. Lingering thoughts where moments were sublime has always kept reoccurring in time. The course I have sailed carried me to places I never thought I'd be. Yet, from all the Ports I been too and the hardships that hampered my way there always seem to be fleeting moments of ecstasy.

The age of my years has taught me well. Now, I've come to reflect on this world of ours only to find myself amazed at the resiliency that is still within me. All my life from tragedy to triumph from Champagne to apple pie the will to survive has kept me afloat when troubled waters arrived. If we all could have lived the life I led through calm seas to gale force winds the horizon always lies just ahead.

It's Our Daily Habits, Not Our Outer Circumstances

Our daily habits are those little things that we do every day without much thought. Our outer circumstances are those things that surround us every day that we are thinking too much about. Sadly, most of us can't stop thinking about how life is holding us back from our true greatness. Furthermore, many of us tend to neglect the power of our daily habits.

Many people who have made it big have had outer circumstances just as bad as, or even worse than ours. The difference between them and most of us is that they have learned not to dwell on the things that are outside of their control. These winners don't let the constant barrage of negative thoughts about their unfortunate situations clog and clutter their minds. They refuse to be paralyzed by their outer circumstances, and refuse to be held down in the stifling role of a Monday morning arm-chair quarterback.

You see, the real key to our success is not how good or how bad our living situation is. Rather, the real key to our success is all those tiny little human behaviors that we do every day, all day long, without much thought. These little routine behaviors are called our daily habits and they make a huge difference in our daily lives.

Our daily habits add up to a lifestyle that either moves us closer to our dreams and goals, or it doesn't. It's really that simple. Are our habits working for us to help us succeed? Or are we falling behind in life because we're working way too hard due to our bad habits. In essence, instead of our habits working for us, we are working for them and now find ourselves mired in a world of mediocrity, or perhaps even drudgery, while being perplexed about why we're not winning yet?

Now teens, go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us. Remember that our destiny is based on our daily habits, not our outer circumstances. And once again, thanks in advance for all that you do, and all that you will do...

Award-winning author, speaker and educator Dan Blanchard wants you to stop worrying about your outer circumstances and to start concentrating on something that you can control like your daily habits. What you need to know about Auto Insurance

Accidents are one of the most common scenarios on the streets with over 10 million accidents happening each year. It is, therefore, mandatory for everyone to have an insurance policy which is guaranteed to keep you and your vehicle safe on the road. When going into insurance, it is advisable that you consider a policy which would suit you best by compensating you when you get involved in an accident and that is why it is not a good approach to get insurance online without professional advice because you might not be fully covered by the insurance. It is also good to consider your budget while picking out an insurance policy.

Insurance agents can help you pick insurance policies which would be in your best interest, which would not cost much and also help you get discounts. Insurance agents can, therefore, assist you in the following ways:

1) Help you pick a quality auto insurance policy which would be in accordance with the laws of your state.

2) They team up with multiple carriers to get a quality auto insurance which would be at an affordable price.

3) The agent will help you pick out an auto insurance policy which would be in line with your needs and not just any auto insurance policy.

When you review an auto insurance policy with your insurance agent, you get a wide range of auto insurance companies to pick from. You are permitted to keep checking till you find a policy which suits you best, and you can not be forced to pick the insurance policy from just one company. To know which insurance will suit your needs certain things will be considered such a the age of members of your family and number of the people who can drive. Also, your agent will try to combine your home and auto insurance policy or bundle your vehicle together under one insurance policy to help you benefit more from the insurance company.

Furthermore, your insurance agent can help check insurance policy choices, coverage limits, deductibles and pricing to ensure that you pick an insurance policy which would cover all your needs.

In every state, drivers are expected to have auto liability insurance such as limited insurance. The requirements for auto insurance varies based on each state, with the inclusion of bodily injury cost per person and per accident and also a minimum liability for property damage.

For instance, when you are liable for an accident, the liability coverage in auto insurance pays for the costs up to the limit in your insurance policy. To protect your vehicle in accidents you need the collision coverage to protect you from losing your vehicle. For people who have more needs than others, you can opt for the comprehensive coverage insurance policy. The combination of both collision and comprehensive auto insurance policy would keep you covered in instances such as accidents, theft, vandalism and so on.

The three primary types of auto insurance policy are Liability Insurance, Collision Insurance, and Comprehensive insurance.
Liability insurance covers the costs for injuries and property damage in an accident which a person is liable for.

Collision insurance covers the cost of repairs to your vehicle after an accident.
Comprehensive insurance also known as 'other than collision insurance' covers damages to your vehicle from natural disaster or theft.
The following are also auto insurance policies which might be available to you based on the laws of your state.

Medical payments; this auto insurance covers costs of injuries inflicted on you and the passengers in your car during the accident regardless of who was liable for the accident.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP); this is similar to the medical payment auto insurance policy and the PIP auto insurance covers the medical bills from an accident regardless of liability. The PIP also covers lost wages.
Rental reimbursement; this auto insurance policy covers the payment of rental cars while your vehicle is being repaired at a mechanic workshop.

Towing and roadside service; this auto insurance policy covers the costs of towing your car to a mechanic workshop and also emergency roadside services.

There's also the online method of getting an auto insurance policy for your vehicle, but it comes with risks and drawbacks. The most notable drawback is the fact that the online insurance policy might not match your need because it is extremely difficult to know the online insurance offers the right protection or comes at an affordable cost. When you buy an online insurance policy such as a buying a no-frills basic cat insurance policy, which would only meet the requirements of the state and might not provide compensation after an accident.

The Top Five Sales Myths

The Top Five Sales Myths Debunked

Sales Myth #1: Sales is NOT a numbers game.

The more people you talk to, the more business you will do, even a blind squirrel finds a nut if it keeps looking. Granted, you want quality behind the numbers and, depending upon your business, it may be helpful to do some research on the person you're calling before you call. That said, in order to be successful in sales you need lots of good solid relationships and the only way to get those relationships is to go out and talk to lots of people. The bottom line is: if you talk to enough people during the day, you will eventually run into someone who says, "I need what you have" or "I know someone who needs what you have." Know the number of people you need to talk to during the day in order to be successful and then go out and talk to that many people and more.

Sales Myth #2: Cold calling doesn't work.

In over 29+ years I've built four different businesses primarily through cold calling. Cold calling is simply the fastest, most pro-active way to get leads. The reality is: if you are new in business or struggling, it's more than likely you don't have enough leads and you're not getting enough through networking, referrals, and other sources... Time to cold call. Yes, cold calling is the most difficult, most time consuming task you can do, yet unless you have millions of dollars to spend on marketing campaigns, cold calling yields results like no other prospecting method.

Also, cold calling builds character and keeps you grounded. The reality is: if you can cold call effectively and with confidence, nothing will stop you, you will be able to do any other sales task you need to do in order to be successful. That is why I recommend you never stop cold calling even when you are extremely successful. Granted, you may only make one or two cold calls a week at that point, but this will keep you sharp and on your toes.

Sales Myth #3: Friday afternoon is a bad time to call on prospects and clients.

Most salespeople believe that prospects either take Friday afternoons off or, if they do work, that they don't want to be bothered by salespeople at this time. This is simply not true. Not only do most prospects work on Friday afternoons, they are also in a better mood at this time than at any other time during the week. As a result, Friday afternoon is a great time to prospect and close business. In addition, because most salespeople don't make calls at this time, you will stand out as someone who is dedicated and hard-working. The bottom line is: Friday afternoon is one of the best times to prospect and close business.

Sales Myth #4: A good salesperson can sell ice to Eskimos.

The premise here is that a good salesperson could sell someone on something that is so obviously not needed. Nothing could be further from the truth. Top salespeople, over the long haul, don't take advantage of people by selling them something they don't need. Top salespeople make it all about the other person and they always do what is best for them, even to the point of sending someone to the competition on rare occasions.

That said, are their some "temporary" sales successes who take advantage of people and make lots of sales by selling them items they don't need? Yes. But in the long-term those people get caught, burn out, find that their personal lives in shambles, or a combination of all of these. The bottom line is: you can't take advantage of people for long and live a happy, fulfilling, successful life. The top salespeople are honest, have integrity, and focus completely on the other person. They only make the sale if it is a win-win.

Sales Myth #5: The customer ISN'T always right.

Salespeople I've seen with this attitude seem to have a chip on their shoulder. It's an attitude of arrogance in which they seem to believe the customer should be privileged to be doing business with them as opposed to the other way around. If you have a mindset that the customer isn't always right, chances are great that you will not go above and beyond, you will not do more than expected, and you will not deliver top-notch, second-to-none follow-up and service after the sale.

If you do not do everything within your power to ensure the customer has a great experience, odds are they will have a mediocre experience at best and you will never stand out. That said, is the customer always right? No, but you'd better walk into that conversation convinced they are, or they will pick up on your suspicion and indifference quickly and as opposed to running into that 1% of unreasonable people, you'll find the number closer to 50%.
